GPU clock reduced by half as the game is just sprites
Black Ops 3 on Deck is the definitive way to play BO3, as it turns your Deck into the ultimate portable Zombies playing console
Works perfectly out of the box
Make sure to go into graphics settings after launching to adjust the resolution as for some reason the game is set to the lowest settings by default, possibly because it thinks you're using an old GPU
After adding cnc-ddraw to fix the menu, RA2 works as it does on Windows and is an absolute masterpiece that to this day is still a must play
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw.dll=n,b" %command%
Launch the game, let the intro movie run, then once the black menu pops up close the game, download and extract the cnc-ddraw files into the main game folder, then start the game again and the menu will be visible https://github.com/FunkyFr3sh/cnc-ddraw/releases
Occasional audio glitching, but it's not frequent enough to be a problem
Main menu shell map does not play as the game thinks your graphics card is underspecced due to the lack of DirectX 9 or older, so the main menu is just a static image.
Renegade runs perfectly right out of the box. If you're playing on a Steam Deck a community layout is required as there's no gamepad support
Game would not launch without GE-Proton7-20. After setting the Proton version it worked perfectly with zero issues.
Woo-hoo
GPU clock set to 400 as the game is old and not demanding. Doing this boosts battery life past 4 hours
Works perfectly out of the box. I will never forgive Epic for buying Harmonix and causing this great game to get delisted
Works perfectly out of the box that I'm baffled this isn't Deck Verified when it's essentially verified quality
The game works perfectly on experimental. If you wanna mod GTA5 though, don't even bother. Modding GTA5 on Linux is near impossible due to the sheer amount of Microsoft dependencies the mod scripts use and mileage varies even if you do somehow get them working.
Helldivers 2 works perfectly on Linux, not so much on the Steam Deck. Despite having a Steam Deck graphics preset, it's unplayable
Set display refresh rate to 40hz
Much of the menu text for the Galactic War menu is not scaled properly requiring the magnifying tool
Everything is blurry as all hell
The game runs on average at 20FPS or lower if you're fighting the Illuminate, even with everything set as low as they can go.
Despite having a Steam Deck graphics preset, Helldivers 2 runs like ass on the Steam Deck. Everything is blurry as all hell and runs on average at 20FPS, even if you turn the graphics as low as they can go and even lower the resolution it still runs awful.
If you're gonna play it on a Steam Deck, stream the game from your main rig, because right now it just ain't up to snuff on the Deck.
The original incursion of spreading democracy in the name of Super Earth, runs perfectly out of the box. A must buy for Deck owners
I don't understand why the game is marked as Unsupported because it works perfectly out of the box and I haven't experienced any slowdowns
Portable Just Cause 3 is a unique experience. Turns the game into a pick up and play experience so you can cause mayhem at your own pace
Set screen refresh rate to 40hz as the game struggles to maintain 60FPS, but hits 40 just fine.
Lethal Company is hilarious on Deck. Having to use the touchscreen to type on the terminal adds to the multiplayer hijinks
Bound the 1 and 2 keys to back buttons to easily emote, as well as a open virtual keyboard shortcut when using the ship's terminal, and the last back button as a push to talk button
The performance drops when inside the ship but when you exit the framedrops are gone and it maintains a smooth solid 60FPS
Multiplayer works as good as it does on Windows.
The work Nixxes put in to make sure Spider-Man works on Deck is incredible, and makes the Deck feel even more like a PSP by proxy
Set the display refresh rate to 40hz as the game ain't gonna hit 60FPS even on low, but it does hit 40FPS.
Works perfectly and runs great despite being early access (something that can't be said about Pokemon)
GPU clock speed was halved since the game is not demanding. Halving the clock speed had no impact on performance and doubled battery life from 2 hours to 4.
Reduced GPU clock speed by half as the game is not graphically demanding in the slightest
There are key choices in the game that effect the story, and these choices have long episodic cutscenes that are played through streaming, and the streaming quality is awful. Unfortunately in Remedy's infinite wisdom only the Windows Store version of the game can play the cutscenes locally.
The only way around this is to just watch the cutscene of the choice you picked on Youtube
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=ddraw=n,b %command%
Game will not load any cities until you add cnc-ddraw into the game files
Before playing to resolve the cannot load a city issue, do the following:
1. Go into Desktop Mode and grab the latest cnc-ddraw from Github
2. Extract ddraw.dll and ddraw.ini to the /Apps/ directory of the game folder.
3. Add "WINEDLLOVERRIDES=ddraw=n,b %command%" to game's launch options
Also be sure to adjust controls as the game does not have gamepad support. Granted the entire game could theoretically be played with just the touchscreen, as Simcity 3000 did have an iOS port at one point.
The game works perfectly out of the box, however it is recommended to set graphics all the way to low to maximize performance
Works out of the box, but will require mods to improve performance and other quality of life changes
It runs but will require mods due to the nature of Bethesda Games being CPU heavy
Works perfectly out of the box
If you connect your Deck to a monitor through USB-C you can have your Deck function like a Wii U gamepad through the subscreen settings so you can experience the game as it was back in 2013.
Proton-6.21-GE-2 required to fix missing audio
Audio and video for cutscenes do not work out of the gate. They're the only thing about the game that is busted. Proton-6.21-GE-2 fixes this
The entire game works, except for cutscenes. Cutscenes do not load and result in the standard test pattern. To fix this, you will need to switch the compatibility option to GE-Proton 6
You can get the latest GE-Proton 6 here: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/6.21-GE-2
Copy the archive (Proton-6.21-GE-2.tar.gz) to ~/.local/share/Steam/compatibilitytools.d and then extract it.
Works out the box but a community patch is necessary to run the game in modern resolutions, otherwise enjoy classic standard def black bars
Running community patch 227j to scale the hud properly at higher resolutions https://www.oldunreal.com/downloads/unreal/oldunreal-patches-for-unreal-latest-ver.j/
It is recommended to install community patch 227j to properly scale the hud in HD, otherwise your hud will become ant sized the moment you go beyond 540p resolutions
