Attempting to join a match results in a kick either during joining or soon after loading into the match (about 60s maximum)
Attempting to host your own game results in getting kicked back to the main menu or a black screen freeze
Runs perfectly fine under GE and even relatively performant, but the anti-cheat won't play with Linux without the developer enabling it or a shim
Pretty good, should run on a potato machine - but technical issues even from the original launch are amplified with emulation. Still enjoy

Hilarious artefact where the wire of the zipline in the first mission isn't rendered, not a playability issue
As others have noted, when the game engine goes to grab the camera for a cutscene it may drop some mouse input
Frame dips, not entirely sure whether it's the game engine or not
Its a good game, the minor issues don't detract from the message
I really love this game. But we need to figure out how to get it to work on Proton
Using the Glorious Eggroll version doesn't transfer saves from the Steam versions for some reason
Tried using Proton 6, 7, and experimental but came up against regular crashes around the same point of any given run through
[cnc-draw](https://github.com/FunkyFr3sh/cnc-ddraw) is a sweet way to restore the game, nice work! Support those developers.
Ended up installing cnc-draw via Protontricks
The game stutters in full screen mode when the Steam Overlay displays a notification toast, as soon as the toast is finished speed is restored. Ways around it are maximised window, windowed, or turning off steam overlay.
I tried with command line before using cnc-draw, in the end I was able to remove the command parameters and just use cnc-draw with Proton9.0(beta) and Proton8-05.
Install cnc-draw by:
- Copying the files into the game directory
- Use Protontricks to open Explorer for that game
- Run cnc-draw.exe
I'd do this cnc-draw patch as soon as the game doesn't launch, as messing around with configs might prevent cnc-draw from working correctly.
Runs natively out of the box better than on windows
Some jiggery pokery is required for mods if you're using the Flatpak version rather than .deb, but it's easily solved
Stopped working today after I reinstalled the game. Same error with the new DSDC

Tried using Linux system libraries, Steam Linux libraries, Steam Proton, GE Proton. Doesn't work. Linux variant crashes when you fire in the tutorial. Windows variant crashes before the first video on a holding level. Bug report sent

Genuinely; Don't waste your time downloading 100Gb of data to find out that yes just like everyone else the game doesn't work. You can rant here though; https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/xuonok/focused_feedback_linux_and_alternative_platform/

Weird stuttering

Kicked from multiplayer game soon after joining due to anti-cheat
Sweet game after all these years, but beware non 4:3 or 5:4 resolutions may break the intended FOV and scaling of 3D PIP and 2D icons.
Use protontricks to install Verdana font, then adjust the prefix settings in the same protontricks GUI to set a Virtual Desktop window.
After I set the Virtual Desktop, the game could trigger fullscreen in the settings and would behave properly. Next launch however the game would be in the window as per the protontricks settings. To get past this I bound "Toggle fullscreen" through my OS, and that works fine.
After toggling the mouse scroll zoom invert the game either only scrolls down or only scrolls up until you restart. I think I remember this from the Windows version TBH
In the end I didn't need to do the Alt+Tab thing described by others as I was running Valve Proton 8.0-4. This ran the intro videos fine. There are some high resolution fixes described here but in the end the game seemed to accept my 2560×1440@165 after chosing it in the options menu (refresh rate is hidden under "Troubleshooting"). Pretty cool game, with a really pastiche storyline and a thumping soundtrack. Worth.
Works fine. Made sure to specifically select Proton Hotfix as default Proton and Glorious Eggroll both failed in different ways.
Used %command% -USEALLAVAILABLECORES , I don't know if it made a significant performance hit but it made me feel good
No matter what, doesn't even get to a splash screen
The game won't even get to a splash screen despite EAC or non-EAC mode, no matter the Proton version, no matter where the game is installed.
In my last report I used %command% -useallcores. I found that was crashing the game. This is run without commands, Proton Hotfix only.
Worked like a dream!
Works great. Just Proton Hotfix, no commands.
Single-player and no-matchmaking by deleting one file. No need to use custom Proton. Pity microsoft suck so hard. Custom server multiplayer!
Had to delete ../SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Halo The Master Chief Collection/easyanticheat/easyanticheat_x64.so
EAC doesn't work. Whether you use
- PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME="/home/[yourhome]/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime/" %command%
- Replace files in ../SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Halo The Master Chief Collection/easyanticheat/
- Replace/read-only files in ../SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/976730/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/EasyAntiCheat
Game will start with an EAC error or not start at all.
I somehow got it working without deleting the file but still couldn't get multiplayer XP scoring servers to work. Can play custom multiplayer servers with others who are invited in though.
R18 - Runs prefectly fine
Ran FPS unlocked. Pure windows version was locked at 30FPS on my machine
Awesome game and it's a relatively simple fix to install the two items required. Looking forward to applying on the Deck. Patience!
Installed the following
- d3dcompiler_47
- d3dx11_43
Initially tried alternate Proton versions and applying launch options. In the end only protontricks worked, installing the compiler and D3D worked so I'm without launch options or custom Proton. Beware, game will appear to hang on launch for me, in the end I just wait and it loads fine.
Pretty sweet, using GE meant that the Media Foundation patch was automatically applied so you just add it and go!
Maybe I should try with default Proton but GE seems fine and the Proton version flatpak manager makes it super easy to do
Early Access charming game but marred by 2K games firing the original developers to slap their logos (Private Division) all over it.
This may be due to the Early Access aspect, they've mentioned there's a lot of optimisation to happen. All Proton versions that could run the game experienced the same low FPS
Watching videos such as the intro video and tutorials would crash on Proton Experimental after a while. Switching to GE should hopefully fix it.
Did require Proton Experimental or GE-Proton7-49 as a minimum. Tried Proton Hotfix and GE-Proton7-49 which both result in the game patching but not starting the launcher. Proton 7.0.6 results in the patcher failing.
Using the amazing launch commands the others figured out, the game ran fine by bypassing the launcher.
bash -c 'exec "${@/%"PDLauncher/LauncherPatcher.exe"/KSP2_x64.exe}"' -- %command%
Due to the "0.2" nature of the game, many minor assets are misaligned such as fins. The physics appeared to be siumulated correctly.
Hopefully 2K and Take-Two Interactive (Take2) don't screw this up, their launcher is already causing havoc. No doubt not helped by firing all the original programmers.
# Anti-cheat not friendly at this point Could be a great game, and sadly you can play long enough to even get a few kills. But get kicked
Settings
Set to Windows 7 mode
Windows components
- d3dcompiler_47.dll
- d3dx11_42.dll
- d3dx11_43.dll
- vcrun2022
After a short period of a few minutes you'll get a "Third party plugin" warning and be kicked from the game.
Continue investigating the anti-cheat. I know my setup is less friendly than other people's
Great sci-reality game
There was a really strange bug where it won't run on Experimental or GE, but 7.01 worked fine out of the box with no launch instructions
Seems to be Early Access. Nice enough and appears to run on a potato. Just need to sort out the video files issue.
Deleted/renamed the files in Local Files\RobotQuest\Content\Movies\Cinematic in order to bypass the white screens whilst playing the game
Gem in the rough, dust it off and play this whacky alternative to GTA. If you liked GTA Vice City and Crackdown you'll like this game

Hair is drawn improperly, allegedly setting anti-aliasing should fix it but didn't for me
Wasn't able to set 2560x1440 resolution
Mouse tracking isn't perfect
30-60FPS cap enabled on the native version
Going to have to dig into it more, but Saints Row 2022 had me looking back here and found this beautiful little game
Worked out of the box with Experimental
Already had the Steam Proton EAC installed on the system. Clicked and played!
First time got to start of intro, crashed. Every time after, crashes at loading screen for intro.
Attempted to use:
- Proton Hotfix
- Proton Experimental
- Proton 8.03
- GE Proton 8-13
Attempting to launch the game results in a loop of joining the queue and getting kicked for "NullClient".
https://squadfm.org/#installation-linux-only - Tried injecting EAC files into the pfx
Attempting to insert EAC files doesn't affect the game. The devs stated on Discord they're not interested in chasing Linux support. Hope they change their position on this.
Earlier report was based on a StarCitizen mitigation applied to the system hosts file that blocks Easy Anti Cheat updates from being downloaded. Once the URL is unblocked the game downloads updates, and runs fine.

I found that the game would crash arbitrarily after a certain ammount of time without GE Proton 41. Using any Steam or older than GE39 would result in the game just hanging every now and then. In my install I've specified the Anti-Cheat and a bunch of launch options, I'm not sure that I need those specified, but I've had bad times in the past in this game without launch options. Nice game!
Make sure you install GE. GE 7-53 failed, reverting to GE 7-51 worked. Install Steam BattleEye Runtime and point the game to it!

Consistent triangle issue in the quarters. Not seen any issues on the Normal difficulty level.
Was able to play with (and get killed by) other players.
The game is improving though they're asking steep prices to for the premium tier insurance and gear. It's a lite verion of Tarkov that you play for free.
Make sure you're installing Glorious Eggroll (ProtonPlus is a good manager of this. 7-51 was the most recent version that I found worked) and that you install the Steam Proton anti cheats (BattlEye and EasyAntiCheat).
In this game you must point it to the anti cheat to get it to run without kicking you mid-match.
It's a very Early Access game with plenty of potential. Unable to join matches in multiplayer despite Epic Games overlay working.

Skip the Epic Games binding at the main menu, you can do it once you're in the main game after the tutorial.
Do not use Experimental or Glorious-Eggroll at this time. I don't know why but sticking to Proton 9.0-3 was the most stable. Switching to Windowed with Alt+Enter seemed smart to get past the account binding screen too. My performance was fine for a game that is currently renowned for it's poor ingame performance, so I tried 75% internal resolution and FSR for good measure. I'm running Medium-High settings, lowering everything that's unimportant. The main issue is the water tbh.
If you're happy with retro FPS to go with your retro game, then it's playable. Otherwise, save your time and money.
As others have said, FPS is low. I found that the main menu video settings get ignored, but changing the shader settings mid-race does apply to that race alone.
Don't know why the native Linux version dissapeared from the store, it's a pity. The game is salvagable but there are better options out there.
Arguably easier to install on Linux than Windows 10. Plays just as well. Seems to automatically grab your actual screen resolution.
Funny scenario where you want to install the PhysX software during first launch, fully easy - just remember to disable XFire (dead) and the system tray icon (redundant)

Sweet game and plays nicely on nVidia despite their intrasigence. So beautiful, remember to look up to see how much of the level you missed!
After a while the environmental model LODs get stuck on the lowest setting, leading to some hilarious graphics. Also on my system I couldn't get RTX reflections to go higher than Low without a black screen, previously on Steam Proton 9.0 Beta I was High+High RTX settings with no issue
14th April this game was running perfectly well under Proton 9.0 Beta in Pop!_OS, but something changed around 25th April where the GPU goes to 0-10% usage when in full screen resulting in low FPS. Also previously was able to have High+High RTX settings whereas since then it's High lighting Low reflections only with GE-Proton9-4
