Me and bro had fun completing a few levels with no issues
If you want Steam Deck battery life play this game.
Reason for disabling frame limit is to minimise very small frame spikes.

I love this childhood classic.
Some sound was a bit lower quality than I remember it being on Windows.
Steam didn't give me my saves from Windows, either that or the game didn't pick it up.
Another note, for some reason in the video settings it wont use anything more or less than 60hz refresh rate, despite my monitor being 180hz. Back on Windows it would let me select something else no problem. But, honestly, I don't care if i'm using 60 or 180, I just love this game and the fact that I can play it.

Used a DualShock 4. Steam Input was required to make it work. After launching I had to manually select all controller binds.
Playing with VSync disabled makes the game very unstable (etc. some levels always crash at the same point with VSync disabled, many levels unbeatable on very high framerates.)
Was able to play the game with 2 DualShock 4 controllers just fine.
I was able to 100% the game.

At first when i started the game it had some weird glitches in the starting menu and couldnt play, but I realized that my global steam setting had an older version of proton selected (8.0.5). After I changed it to 9.0-2 everything worked flawlessly

Plays Well, from 0% to 100%
There was one instance of shadows on a carnival ride acting strange, not sure if due to Proton or just how the game is
Framerate above 60 leads to problems with Robin's controllable devices, limit the framerate to 60 by using V-Sync or otherwise to fix.
After completing 100% of game content, I can say it's pretty much a flawless experience on Linux. Equal or better performance to Windows 10.

gamemoderun PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
protontricks 21000 d3dx9
Major artifacts in starting cutscene, fixed by installing d3dx9 via protontricks
You will most likely have heavy artifacting at launch. run on terminal: protontricks 21000 d3dx9 this should fix the artifacting.

Works perfectly fine
Installed, and started up right put of the box with zero tinkering.

Works without issues
Shaders in the "video squences" rarely freak out a bit
Overall, the game works just fine.

gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Plays just fine. Not compatible with 3440x1440 ultrawide resolution. Game seems to be locked @30 FPS. Dualsense works. I am using Wayland
My Textures where all messed up. I had to run export VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/*
in my Linux Terminal and reboot, after that the textures were normal.
The audio is sometimes a bit delayed.
Alt+Tab just turns the Game into a black window and makes it unplayable, you have to restart the Game to see something again, by that you also loose the level progress.
Configure controlls for the second player and it works as intended.
The command and the reboot are a bit annoying, but you have to only do it once (if you even have to do it). Besides the mentioned problems the game itself works perfectly fine.
Solid performance, bringing back my childhood
A few time the audio seemed to be a little behind the game but then synced back up fine after a second or two.
During one cutscene the textures became degraded (pixaleted) but then poped back. Only happened once so far...
Other then a weird graphical issue I experienced during a cutscene and sometimes the audio being out of sync for a few seconds it runs great!
400 MHZ GPU clock and 4 watt TDP
Defaults to 1024x768, can be changed in main menu

Save data is deleted when the game is uninstalled. No Steam Cloud support.
Some areas suffer from periodic lag spikes - about 1 every few seconds. A possible fix is to enable in-game vsync and disable the Deck's FPS limiter.
I previously was running my Epic store copy via Heroic Launcher, and found some audio sync issues with cut scenes. This Steam copy of the game however is running flawlessly.

Use in game vsync to cap 60fps. SteamDeck was showing 200+fps wasting battery and was not able to cap frame rate on it's own.
First major cutscene fell out of sync badly after a minute. Other scenes so far seem good. Could be others with the issue.
Gameplay feels perfect. Maxed settings. Over 5 hour battery life, 40% gpu, 20% cpu. Old but effecient game.

The game constantly suffers from brief freezes on Windows 10 but runs perfect using Proton.
Had to map all inputs from scratch for my F710.
Game starts pixlated objects no menu
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
The game starts and with the launch option there is no looping sound. However the menu never appears and the textures are all messed up.
Game works perfectly fine out of the box, I installed and started it without changing a thing. Steam Deck's resolution is also supported.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Game will not run properly without launch options
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Setzt "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%" als Startoption, ansonsten läuft das Spiel nicht
There are no starting animations like in windows. Textures are missing in the main menu background. Main menu does not show text.
Works fine, not out of the box for me though, I needed to change VK_ICD_FILENAMES, more info below.
If your textures are scuffed its a vulkan problem, look into /usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/ and there will be a json file. Then do export VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/file.json
, in my case it was export VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/nvidia_icd.json
.
Works perfectly fine out of the box
It runs quite well
I only had one crash at the start, but it works perfect otherwise.
Works great out of the box
Leave vsync turned on otherwise you will have problems controlling vehicles and such.
Put "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%" into command line to solve.
Fullscreen for some reason locks to the non-default monitor, changing screen size repeatedly reset it back to the default monitor.
PLAY THIS GAME WITH V-SYNC ENABLED, MANY BUGS LIKE AN UPLAYABLE CHAPTER 2 EPISODE 1 APPEAR WITH IT OFF.

I used this tag and now it starts without it but I didn't try with ESYNC after menu. So not sure the game run normally without it
sometimes out of sync in cutscene
I initially had issues interacting with vehicles in the level hub, but don't know whether related to Proton, user error, or otherwise. Issues did not persist.
Works fine after adding the following to launch options: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%

99% of it will just work.
needs launch option: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
starting from pc steam menu, only one controller recognised. starting from big picture mode works perfectly.

It works fine out of the box on Proton. I installed D9VK and it worked great too with this DX9 to Vulkan translation, even when testing it with the new ACO compiler.

Works fine out of the box.

Steam controller didn't work - had to use the keyboard to change device to Xbox 360 controller, then define the controls manually. Worked fine afterwards.

No problems with graphics or performance. Run's perfectly without issues or tweaks.

XBox controller does not work. Had to use steams controller configuration to map controller to keyboard and then map the buttons in-game. Esync needs to be disabled.

runs perfect
