It even runs without "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%", but the framerate is low, and the passengers are invisible. With WineD3d it runs smooth and I can see the peoples also. :-)
Works great wit Proton 4.2-7 out of the box, framerate is ok now (the program itself is upgraded a lot. )
Runs fine out of the box. I've played it with a Steam controller.
Not working, none of the tweaks heloed. It starts with a background music, and a mouse cursor, but nothing can be seen.
Runs out of the box, but needs "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%" to take care of the FPS drips here and there.
"PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1" %command% gets rid of the FPS dips. Working flawlessly with a steam controller.
It starts, but exits without Wine D3d11. With it it works just fine using a Steam controller.
Disable Esync helps preventing a crush after exiting a video. As others reported, you need to edit "Mass Effect/BioGame/Config/DefaultEngine.ini" and add the following two lines to the section starts with "[ISACTAudio.ISACTAudioDevice]": DeviceName=Generic Software", "UseEffectsProcessing=False" (without the quotes).
It won't start. I didn't get the Origin install window. Tested with Proton-7.1-GE-2, Proton-6.21-GE-2, Proton-6.3, Proton Experimental.
Multiple Steam and system restarts has been made. With big picture and without. The contents checked several times. Origin install window does not appear. I waited 20 minutes, still nothing visible.
Playable. Controller support in the start screen is non existent.
Steam controller cannot be used in primary launcher schreen. Only the mouse and keyboard works. From the sounds it seems the controller is navigating in steam big picture in the background. After a game selection the controller needs to be restarted to pick it up again in game. After this it works as designed.
Keep a mouse or a keyboard close when you want to play it with a controller. In my previous attempt I used an NTFS formatted partition on the external drive to store the game files. That's why the Origin installer window never shown up. Now I know that was a bad idea. :-)
Only displays a black screen, even with: "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_OLD_GL_STRING=1 PROTON_LOG=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%", all 32bit libs are installed
Runs fine, if you set start Uplay to start in offline mode, another Steam user can use it with Steam Family sharing also. (Uplay needs to be closed after each play, because steam starts it with every Uplay title.)
Runs fine after "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_OLD_GL_STRING=1 PROTON_LOG=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1" has been set as a launch option.
Worked out of the box. FPS counter is not precise. It displayed a black screen after the first (training) level, had to close it. But after starting it again everything was perfect. I will update the review later...
