Did the "mv ./bin ./bin.bak && ln -s DefEd/bin bin && cd bin && mv ./SupportTool.exe ./SupportTool.bak && ln -s EoCApp.exe SupportTool.exe" fix, worked beautifully since, over 100 hours of gameplay with a few very rare crashes.
5.8-GE-2-MF GloriousEggroll
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=winedbg.exe=d
to be able to finish creating character
Framerate randomly dips into single digits in interiors, outdoors run fine.
Used https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/576-bulletstorm-xlivedll/, then it's perfect.
Used https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader for xliveless, performance isn't fantastic but can be dramatically improved to 60fps+ with PROTON_USE_D9VK=1
Patched out xlive.dll: https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader
"Insufficient video memory detected. A minimum of 32 MB of free video memory required." Can't get any further.
Used https://pastebin.com/raw/2Y2bVuRi, runs at around 60fps on lowest settings.
Had to apply same fixes as on Windows (hosts, xliveless), but otherwise runs great. Played through entire game from start to finish via Proton and D9VK makes performance equal or better to Windows.
Worked just like it should from start to finish, both base game and DLCs.
Runs quite well but has problems when run with d9vk.
When minimizing from fullscreen it might be quite difficult to get back in, and often results in visual glitches or crashes. Use windowed noborder.
Have to stick with wine's OpenGL as d9vk causes crashes when loading new maps, acceptable but not fantastic FPS.
The game is quite playable and I've played through the game 3 times already, the bugs that did occur was more funny than annoying.
Very rarely, about once or twice per playthrough a bunch of textures will go missing, solved by restarting the game.
When trying to come back to the game after alt tabbing the game tends to break in weird ways, solved by using borderless mode.
The game has issues with D9VK during my testing, and with Wine's OpenGL it doesn't perform quite as good, so will drop down to below 60fps during heavy areas, but usually hovers around 140-300fps.
Once or twice per playthrough the game will quit to desktop.
Had to use mf-install or else I'd get a black screen after initial loading screen
Runs a bit choppy at times but it also ain't the best port, it's acceptable at medium settings.
protontricks 1030830 dotnet452 win10
Had to lower settings to medium, given my specs I should have no issue running max settings.
It just works, d9vk recommended for slightly higher FPS but not really noticeable.
Works absolutely excellent with Proton-GE, played through the whole game without any issues aside from those mentioned.
Proton-GE 6.1-2
Intro video sometimes refuse to play until you alt+tab out and back in, but more annoying is this: When Steam's been updated, you must delete the prefix for the game, not a huge issue as the game got synced saves, but a hassle if you're on Steam Beta.
Worked perfectly out of the box, finished several endings without any issues.
Black screen, can hear audio and game reacts to me clicking things but that's really all.
Running just fine at High-Ultra settings, as expected with my hardware.
Sometimes crashes after several hours of playing, but seems to happen on Windows as well.
Multiplayer doesn't work, you can do the tutorial but nothing after that works.
Played a bit using both gamepad and kb+mouse, worked just fine (120fps) to show me I suck at this game :)
Runs perfectly fine other than the initial video not playing, but it doesn't add much anyway.
It just works, played through entire game.
Needed to install the game twice to make the game run
Works flawlessly (100+ fps) except that videos doesn't play and is just a black screen.
Needs PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 to launch, works great other than mouse being sluggish but upping the sensitivity fixes that.
Works perfectly unless you're severely addicted to facebook
Facebook log in results in a white box, have to close the game to get rid of it (everything behind white box still works)
Menus launch in tiny window stuck in top left corner, gameplay however works brilliant.
Aside from the saving issue the game runs perfectly fine with a solid 60fps throughout the whole game at maxed settings.
Needs PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 to save reliably
