Game installed & ran normally. Internet multiplayer doesn't work but Edios no longer hosts the lobby server so that is expected.

Customizations:

The game runs extremely slow by default. This is fixed by adding "d3dx9_36.dll" as native library in winecfg.

There's no need to use protontricks, but it's much faster using it to launch winecfg.

Also, do not install d3dx9_36.dll using protontricks nor winetricks. The file is located in the game directory.

The performance is astoundingly fast afterwards!

Gamepad Logitech F710 also did work... I tried it on x360 mode only.

Intro runs extremely slowly with stuttering audio. Main menu has working menu music, but navigation is incredibly slow and takes minutes to do anything, making it literally unplayable.
