didn't try punkbuster enabled servers
Tried some other proton version to no avail.
Games installed dependencies, then nothing for a while. It takes up to like 10Gb, CPU ramps up to 80%, then crashes...
Game saves very often so no progression is lost if game crashes.
Crashed when using 7.0rc3-GE-1, but no crash with 6.3.8 default.
7.0rc3-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1
Default Proton 6.3-8 didn't show battle backgrounds. Fixed by using Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 instead.
Sometimes, mouse clicks feel slugish / unresponsive
Only sometimes, transitions feel they are going to freeze.
JS error when launching the game, but it runs after clicking the OK button.
Solved by lowering the settings in graphics options. Rendering to 50% and all settings at Medium, Grain effect off. -> game is running smooth.
It works good enough, but the crashes could be a problem.
Only sometimes I feel some mouse input lag.
Seem to happen with achievements? but not always.
When crashing, the meta progression seems to be saved, but it's a bit sad to have a good run ruined...
Game is good and quite different from other survivors type of games. Got for it!
I tried: - different Proton version, - restarting steam, - verifying the files, with no avail.
The demo worked flawlessly, but not the full game for some reason.
added --no-sandbox to launch option
but seem the cracking is going away
I found some errors in my logs and one said:
FATAL:gpu_data_manager_impl_private.cc(415)] GPU process isn't usable.
I found a seemingly unrelated post about an app done with electron and one answer said to add
--no-sandbox
when launching the app.
I added that to the launch option in the game properties, and it started right away!
I had starting issues (crashing before even launch) but after checking the files, DirectX was re-installed and all is working now.
Feeling jerky every few seconds. Fixed with the following launch command parameters:
: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 WINEESYNC=0 %command%
game froze when selecting "controller" in the options (from the map)
Games runs even better when not using v-sync. (otherwise the mouse feels jurky)
Only once, after finishing a run (beating the last boss), I had no picture/text on the character selection screen for my next run. It resolved when I restarted the game.
gamemoderun %command%
Stuttering frequently despite game running at 60fps, IO related? (using an SSD)
VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/nvidia_icd.json %command%
video clips are very colorful stripes
New game or tutorial do not show the backdrop of the environment. Tutorial can't be finished, no character is even moving.
no background in the game, it looks like playing in space...
can't complete tutorial when creating first machine, game is not progressing
Tried many Proton versions from 6 to 8 (+ GE 8.11 and Experimental), none fixed my issues.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 WINEESYNC=0 gamemoderun %command%
very unstable and low FPS depending on the Proton version I was using. Experimental works great.
After an update, the proton version I was using had very bad performance, Proton experimental and some launch options did the trick for me.
Tried to rename the Movie folder because game crashes after second boss.
As of 2022-03-27, game is crashing after first boss, loading infinitly, didn't have that issue in the past.
Cut scenes stopped working after an update (of the game I suppose).
The game used to work flawlessly, but after an update (the game? my system?) the game crashes after the first boss while loading the next sector. Renaming the Movie folder allows to see the loading screen, but the spinning doesn't stop. Aslo, the computer is not responding. (had to kill the game from a different console with CTRL+ALT+F5 for example)
Maybe due to loading cut scenes, sometimes audio is playing when screen is still black. Then, it's back in sync eventually. No issue while gameplay.
Only tested the DEMO so far.
Fullscreen in 2560x1080 was less than 10FPS.
Watching a smoke makes the game run at less than 10 FPS
Changing to Window mode 1920x1080 and tweaking the graphical settings make the game run at 60FPS. But still, looking at smoke make frames drop to 10 or so.
Only getting like 2 or 3 fps in game (main menu is fine) On Windows, I get like 45fps.
TX16S: Managed to map the stick by making a model and skipping CH3 in the mixer on the radio model.
At first launch, .Net install had an error (step 3/4) but the install finished and the game runs perfectly.
The Game.ini
fix was needed for me, because I had the blank loading screen issue.
Original solution from: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/k780qd/protonwine_psa_if_youre_having_trouble_getting/
I edited the file:
<steam_folder>/steamapps/compatdata/578650/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/Indiana/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor/Game.ini
And added the following:
[/Script/MoviePlayer.MoviePlayerSettings]
bWaitForMoviesToComplete=False
bMoviesAreSkippable=True
StartupMovies=
At first launch, the main menu/display was flickering between full hd (1920x1080) and ultrawide (2560x1080) but [alt]+[enter] switched to window mode. From there, I could setup resolution and back to full screen, it's working in 1920x1080.
To configure my radioa (TX16S), I had to make a model skipping the channel 3 in the mixer. (like it is needed for DRL) Then, for the switches, I use Qjoypad to map my toggle switch to [R] on the keyboard.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 WINEESYNC=0 %command%
I needed the launch options to get rid of the stuttering. (was almost constant). Not, it runs butter smooth.
