Originally worked a couple months ago with regular Proton. Later stopped working and was forced to switch to Proton Experimental. Otherwise no issues detected.
Works out of the box, both on my desktop and on my deck, had issues with the stick support not working but devs fixed soon after altered.
Works out of the box. Very fun. Control scheme is TERRIBLE. Even with the community layout, M+K is far superior
Runs fine, but the default controller layout is terrible
Occasional stuttering
The Last Spell seems to run mostly fine on Steam Deck, but the game isn't designed to be played with a controller, and it really shows. For one thing, as far as I can tell, the default layout doesn't have any key bindings for zooming in or out, and the game is pretty hard to interact with on the Steam Deck's small screen when fully zoomed out. I'm sure you could make the game more playable using a custom layout, but I wish the devs had put more effort into controller support in the first place - I don't think the game is so complex that it couldn't have an easy-to-use default controller layout.
Works out of the box. Didn't get any of the input lag others have experienced.
Runs Like Native
Accessing the Steam Overlay did cause heavy graphical artifacts once, and caused the Graphical Session to segfault on game exit
Limit frame rate to 30
The game save was lost when switching proton versions
The game can not run at 60fps and has compatibility problems, it consumes a lot of power even for 30fps
Playable with no major issues
Fullscreen didn't always work, it would most times not display after alt-tabbing away, and changing the ingame display mode to fullscreen would also cause problems. No issues with fullscreen windowed or windowed though.
Had pretty significant performance issues at my native resolution (4k). Was able to work around by changing to 1080p
Due to FPS issues it's not an enjoyable experience currently
Initially FPS was decent (40-75 FPS), but after restarting the game it was down to 13-20 FPS. Seems to be a known issue with the game.
Works without any tweaks whatsoever.
Just works with steamplay.
Game runs as if native. I played the game 30+ hours on Windows, and experienced 0 difference now that I'm on Linux.
Initially ran at 7-10fps, lower resolution at 17-22fps
Runs almost perfectly. I had one crash. I don't know if it was Proton related or not.
Gotta wait for half a minute before clicks are registered.
Works perfectly out of the box.
Works perfectly out of the box
It runs on low fps ~ 15 - 25 , but that is probably due to my system not meeting requirements. Even with lower fps quite enjoyable, as a low framerate does not impact the strategy gameplay too much imo.
Runs nice
Works straight out of the box with no changes or tinkering.
Game doesn't load, just copies current desktop
Running with gnome-shell, tried with both standard proton as well as GE, same result
The framerate drops slightly when opening menus, though it might be unrelated to Proton
Runs great after an unusually long start up time
Seems to take a long time to start up with only a blank screen displayed during this time
Good gaming experience, I recommend trying
Runs fast, no problem detected, no lag during animations. Autosave working as expected. Have Fun !
There's some very slight input lag, but other than that the game runs fine.
Running at 18 FPS. There's noticeable input lag (~1/8 second?) -- ignorable because this isn't a game that requires reaction time, but it's there.
