Stutters a bit but plays fine.
It stuttered quite a bit but that could just be the game and not proton
It all works.
Works right out of the box now, haven't had any stuttering problems either.
It's just works™ (on intel Arc too)
Apart from the game not cleanly closing, it works exactly as you would expect.
Runs fine but has a few issues.
Crashes when not focused. Seems to do this every time.
There is noticeable input lag when running DX11, it is much better with DX12.
Performance is lower by about 10-20fps when running with DX12 compared to DX11.
Launches with DX11 by default, add -dx12 to launch options for DX12.
Works fine both with proton and native
Native version has a bug that stops you selecting people in the court at certain screen resolutions. Proton dosen't have this problem. Paradox aren't in any rush to fix it either as they have ignored the bug report for half a year so far. Native doesn't close cleanly and has to be forced to close by steam.
Input lag and capped framerate with Vulkan or frame drops with OpenGL
With the default proton version Steam uses for this game I was not able to completely turn around, as if the mouse had hit the edge of the screen. Latest proton version fixed this issue.
Default, Experimental and GE proton versions have noticeable input lag when using Vulkan.
Game was capped to half of my refresh rate, even with v-sync off, when using Vulkan but not when using OpenGL. OpenGL has a lot of frame drops.
This is with Wayland, maybe using x11 would have better results.
Runs fine once you can get it to open.
Sometimes small white boxes appear around characters hair but not very often.
The game stutters quite a bit throughout, but not enough to make it unplayable.
It crashed 5 times in 10 hours, a few of these times locked up my whole system.
The game, at first, didn't launch with proton experimental but worked with GE, then the next time I tried to launch it worked with experimental but not GE. After the second launch it refused to open with radv and would only open with amdgpu-pro. This is without any updates to the game, drivers or proton.
Sometimes steam shader caching broke some of the shaders and made huge black circles covering most of the screen. Deleting steamapps/shadercache/1222140 fixed this.
Opens but freezes after the "Press any button" screen.
The game recently added the eac .so files but seems to just freeze with no error messages after the initial screen. The Ubisoft overlay complains about the graphics driver being unsupported when launching.
It works now.
Seems to be fine. No issues with anti-cheat so far.
It's not marked as deck verified and there hasn't been any announcment that I have seen, but it works and has the .so files. It complains about the graphics driver, but if you turn off notifications in the ubi overlay it goes away.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
iPresentInterval=0 in Fallout76Perfs.ini (steamapps/compatdata/1151340/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Fallout 76/)
Framerate varies quite a bit depending on the area you're in but not too much that it's unplayable.
Seems completely fine.
I didn't run the game without the launch flags so they might not even be needed.
Changing the config file was only to turn off vsync, it seems to cap the framerate to half your refresh rate if it's higher than 60hz even if the framerate would be under 60.
Indistinguishable from Windows
Xbox One controller worked completely fine.
Runs Perfectly when launched with DirectX
When launched with Vulkan the loading screens cause the 21:9 pillarboxes to flash quickly with mostly green artefacts for a second, this happens to the whole screen when booting the game and to the pillarboxes between all rooms. This doesn't happen if launched with DirectX instead
Seems to work completely fine.
Haven't played for very long yet but it has no issues so far.
It defaults to experimental which crashes but 7.0-4 runs flawlessly.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=144 %command%
Vsync causes some input lag and the game doesn't have an fps cap. DXVK_FRAME_RATE can be used to cap it.
It works with AMD (RX 6800 XT) but has quite a lot of flickering in some areas, not unplayable though.
PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command%
Light flickering is very common
Won't launch with experimental bleeding edge or newer versions of proton GE. Mesa 21 averages around 40fps while it's 80+ with Mesa 22, but 21 has less flickering.
No Steam overlay. It might not be possible to buy in game currency without it.
no issues here
Experimental has a few less stutters but you probably don't need to use it.
It just works
Things look a bit small in the menus but it's not too bad.
Seems to work
Seems like videos don't work and need to be skipped
Worked exactly as expected
All good here, just videos don't play, they're not important as far as I know though. Seems like the reviews saying it's broken were from before the game actually launched.
Broken on Intel Arc
Instantly closes with Intel graphics. (It does work for amd cards tho)
The game stutters occasionally but it could just be the game rather than proton. Restarting fixes performance issues for a while.
At first I thought the water wasn't rendering properly, but it turns out that it just looks like that and isn't anything to do with proton.
I could only connect to friends sessions after using protontricks. "protontricks 275850 win7" The join button didn't do anything before that.
SteamDeck=1 %command%
Without the launch option, lobby chat doesn't work.
Intel Arc is capable of running this in VR at least on the software side, it struggles to keep the framerate up at times but otherwise runs fine. Didn't test voice recognition, only used text input.
Runs perfectly out of the box apart from occasional crashes on launch.
The paths flicker a bit when aligning to grid.
Occasionally crashes on launch but not during play.
Used Proton experimental.
Runs perfectly out of the box, no tweaks needed.
Multiplayer works perfectly.
Multiplayer works, DLC works, impossible to tell it's not native.
Works exactly as it should.
The .so files are now in the correct location by default so now it runs out of the box. Proton Experimental is likely not needed, it's just what I ran it with.
It's actually more stable than on windows
I have only had it crash on me once, two other people in the same game also crashed, so I doubt it was a proton thing.
Everything works as expected.
Crashed once after clicking something in the pause menu, but this is just as likely to be the games fault and not proton.
Everything worked, joining with the steam overlay works, voice chat works.
Played for 8 hours straight with no issues.
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="Intel(R) Arc(tm) A770 Graphics (DG2)" %command% -dx11
It took more than 5 attempts for the login to actually work
Logging is was a battle, it sometimes crashed, other times was just a white window and most often it would just infinite load after entering auth codes. It launched and runs on regular proton but the login process is almost impossible without using GE.
Launch Options: PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_SET_GAME_DRIVE=1 %command%
Initial launch shows an empty black box but pressing enter gets past it and it never shows up again.
Addons can be installed manually in "/steamapps/compatdata/306130/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns/"
Works fine with native but if you want to use remote play together you will have an easier time with Proton.
Switch to Proton 7.0-5
The Steam overlay on the native version is very buggy and won't click in the correct spots, meaning it can be very awkward to set up remote play together. Proton 7.0-5 didn't have this issue.
Does what it's meant to
Remote play together did work in Native, it was just the setup that was off.
It just works.
Changing the window size in windowed mode sometimes resizes more than you want.
Apart from resizing the window everything works as expected.
Everything works as it should.
Crashed once when tabbing out but never again after that.
There's a few UI bugs but I don't think that's anything to do with proton.
Runs fine but has some graphical problems
Frequent Z-fighting in a few areas
Works fine
On an ultrawide monitor the pillarboxes flicker rapidly on some loading screens. This might be the game rather than proton though.
Sometimes after tabbing out it would not detect any keyboard inputs until I restarted the game. This was quite rare though.
It doesn't close cleanly becuase of Ubisoft connect running in the background and requires you to force close it for steam to recognise that you have stopped playing.
Apart from the minor issues above it works as expected.
