there's stuttering when entering a new area. i assume its caching shaders because it only happens the first time. the performance is worse than windows but not by much. getting 30-40 fps at 4k and 50-60 at 1440. changing the resolution did get me 7 fps until after restarting the game though.
changing the resolution requires a restart
it crashes sometimes but it seems like its after i start a new segment of the game. i dont think its because i have physx enable but i am surprised that works at all. maybe itll work better with the dx11 options off but i dont know that for sure
borked with proton 7.0-1 at the time of writing. works great with proton 6.3-8
its ok. nothing game breaking but better on windows.
the zip line in mission 2 flickered in and out of existance
slight stutter but went away over time so i assume its caching shaders
i wasnt able to try unranked online because the download speed was too slow but ranked worked. being an old game expect to only play tdm nuke town
Only played a few matches so far but aside from the shader cache stutter it works fine
if youre fine playing this with m/k or steam controller then youll be fine.
ps4/5 controllers dont work and the xbox series controller uses the left analog stick as the d pad and the dpad doesnt work. i havent been able to fix that.
EAC doesnt work properly on ubuntu 20.04 but its mostly fine on ubuntu 21.10. At 4k most enemies and the horse wont render unless the camera is right next to them. this is not an issue at lower resolutions.
when the game first launches it sometimes wont connect to online and you just have to retry until it does. after that it seems fine
hopefully we get full controller support and i would assume its a proton issue because i had this same issue playing spyro reignited trilogy
use proton experimental, disable steam input for ps5 controller, plug in xbox controller, lower settings if enemies dont render.
had to disable steam input in properties>controller>disable steam input.
with my gpu at 4k most enemies dont render. depending on your hardware you either wont have this issue or youll have to use lower settings than me
steam controller works fine. ps5 only works correctly with steam input disabled in the properties. xbox has to be wired.
Native would full screen onto my second monitor. With Proton 7.0-3 I can't get back in game after tabbing out.
Native is fine and better than Proton 7.0-3 if you only have one monitor
after tabbing out the mouse isnt restrained to the window. so if you have more than one monitor the mouse will go into any other monitor and clicking the mouse will take focus off the game.
if you only have one monitor or dont tab out then there are no issues
i think its fine but i dont know how lower or higher end hardware is affected by the performance drop.
i get about 60-75 fps on windows and about 45 in linux. luckily theres no stuttering or anything else that would make it annoying to play.
crashes at 4k. fine at all lower resolutions.
stutters when caching shaders and is borked at 4k
broken on anything newer than proton 5.0-10 and videos dont play
There is no option for windowed mode
I had to lower my resolution to 1080p for the game to successfully launch but after the first time I was able to set my resolution back to 4k with no issues.
works as expected
It always gives a "not responding" error on launch but it goes away after the game gets to the main menu and everything works fine
at best with proton 4.11-13 i got 15fps
I tried proton experimental down to 4.11-13 and native. resolutions 1920, 1440, and 4k. it's borked.
Works fine with nvidia drivers 510 both native and proton 7.0-3 it doesnt work well at all with nvidia drivers 515 at the time of writing
Please ignore my previous 2 reports becuase they're both wrong.
There was an issue when updating my drivers from 510 to 515. The bug only affected some games and this was one of them. I purged the drivers, reinstalled, and now both native and proton work.
Native was a stuttery mess. With Proton I've made it to the first tractor beam level with no issues so far.
taskset -c 0-7 %command%
slight performance hit. probably caching shaders
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 taskset -c 0-7 %command%
Claw Pounce Bug is fixed by limiting the game to 60 fps. the game wont launch with over 8 cores.
its an old game with some issues but easy to fix compared to windows.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 taskset -c 0-12 %command%
you need to limit your fps to 60 to fix the claw pounce bug using this command DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command% or vsync if you have a 60 hz monitor.
to fix the claw pounce bug you have to limit the fps to 60 or less either with vsync or with DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%. or DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 taskset -c 0-12 %command% if you also have more than 13 cpu threads. at no ther point do you have to limit the fps. limiting the cpu to less than 13 is also fine. i dont think the game uses more than 4.
The native version works but alt f4 is a pain. the proton version works better.
If you only want to play online then it's fine but the story mode can't be beat.
In mission 9 sometimes dying causes the game performance to tank and the game has to be relaunched to fix. After going into the hanger to change ships nothing renders other than the ui. This bug also affects mission 10 and makes it impossible to finish.
Online works fine. I'm bad at the game though so I only played two matches for testing.
The native version would crash randomly, but is worth trying first for slightly better perfomance over proton.
eval $( echo "%command%" | sed "s/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/Base\/Binaries\/Win64Steam\/CivilizationVI.exe'/" )
slight fps hit. from 60 in windows down to 50ish in ubuntu.
it fullscreens on my second monitor and i cant move it. the fix resolution option in game crashes the game
after getting in game my mouse appeared on my main monitor and moving it to my second monitor moved the in game camera then forced my mouse back to my main monitor
tested and works with proton 5.13-6 and 5.0-10. didnt test older versions and broken on 6.3-8 and experimental.
super comboman smash edition works out of the box. this is for the regular super comboman which looks like its delisted
The native version does not launch. With Proton the keyboard does not work correctly and I can't place doors.
With proton keyboard inputs would double up and I can't place a door.
With the native version when I verify the files there is always one file missing. With proton the ui is way too small, whenever I type on the keyboard it thinks I pressed the key twice, and I can't place doors.
I'm not sure a typical gamer would enjoy this game but if you're here you're probably not a typical gamer
Like Neros said you need these two patches installed
https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1026-timeshift-update-12-steam/
yes if only single player
cant get back in game after tabbing out
multiplayer is borked
the inital stuttering is really bad and it didnt use to be there. other than that everything works fine.
it stutters a lot. i hope its because of caching shaders because it wasnt as bad later on but really annoying
eval $( echo "%command%" | sed "s/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\/Binaries\/Win64\/XCom2.
or
eval $( echo "%command%" | sed "s/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/Binaries\/Win64\/XCom2.
under proton the 2k launcher is borked and you have to pick one of the two launch options depending on if you want to play normal xcom or war of the chosen.
eval $( echo "%command%" | sed "s/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\/Binaries\/Win64\/XCom2.exe'/" )

Both native and proton work. I'd recommend native. Launch options only required for proton version.
