Just works.
It just worked for me. If you have problems with EAC, try installing manually from Steam by selecting tools in the library and installing EAC. Sometimes games will not do so automatically.
SDL_VIDEODRIVER=windows %command%
Doesn't start because of EAC
I tried normal proton, experimental, latest GE
I even compiled and installed glibc-eac
and EAC is still giving the error of "Failed to initialize dependencies." despite all my efforts
Do Not use Performance Overlay/MangoHud.
At first the game settings only allowed for 16x9 aspect ratio. Unsure what fixed this, but after playing again some time later, the proper aspect ratio had appeared.
Do NOT use the Steam Decks Performance Overlay (MangoHud) as it will cause Easy Anti-Cheat will kick you out of every online match.
This Bear does not like Mangos
Läuft ohne probleme
Можна спокійно грати, навіть робити багато кілів)))
Поставив усе крім текстур на середні.
Ну, воно тупо працює,нічого більше додати.
Despite the "rating" I cannot change, with minimal tweaking, it works extremely well with only tiny preformance hiccups.
The text is a little small, but managable to read.
I had a few tiny hiccups in preformance, I did not change any graphics settings, so lowering them would most definetly fix this.
I played during the alpha, and so I got the game for free to keep, dismayed that yet another Hirez game I enjoy would no be able to be played, and this seemed to be true, up until I tried proton 7.0-5 where the game loaded perfectly, and played several games. saw high ping but that could have been the servers or my own internet, which is not always the best.
Only played a few matches so far but aside from the shader cache stutter it works fine
Runs with custom compiled glibc-eac from https://github.com/Frogging-Family/glibc-eac
Doesn't work on steamos version 3.4.4
Glibc is the issue, the newest update broke some games, as far as I am aware they have fixed it for Arch but not on steam os, fingers crossed it's coming soon
Doesn't work beyond main menu, presumably because of EAC
-noeac
If you try to run the game with the default installation, you will get an EAC error immediately after trying to run the game. Using "-noeac" as launch parameter makes the game to run until the main menu, aftrer that you're unable to login because of "bad or missing configuration". Supposedly, the "-noeac" trick worked up until last week, but now the developer seems to have made EAC mandatory, without any Linux implementation.
When it is visually stuttering, the audio is also stuttering
Stuttering when you are in close combat
I cannot play multiplayer when in a party. I've tried the -noeac flag, but that just gives me a configuration error on the login screen
I also tried using the glibc-eac.sh script, but that changed nothing. I've also switched it to experimental. :(
Stuttering the first few times an ability is used
I tried many things trying to get easy anti cheat to work, including:
- Installing a distro that uses glibc 2.35 (fedora 36)
- Installing a distro that uses glibc 2.36 (fedora 37) and manually patching, compiling, and installing glibc with the patches in the glibc-eac repo
- Trying all proton versions on all above combinations
- Trying
-noeac
in the launch options with all above combinations - Trying heroic games launcher with lutris
To even run on fedora, the glibc-eac repo needed a bunch of tweaking, and in the end I wasn't able to compile glibc with that repo successfully. However, I was able to manually apply the patches to the newest version of glibc, then compile and install it, and yet I still got EAC errors when I tried to run DKO.
To get it to work, I had to install an arch based distro (manjaro 22.0 in my case) and then run the glibc-eac.sh file. I just needed to install the base-devel
package to get it running, no extra changes.
Once that finished, I set the proton version to experimental and bam, it started, loaded, and allowed me to play online with no EAC errors.
unfortuantely, glibc-eac is needed until hi-rez decide to update their EAC EOS version
EAC breaks the game
EAC now required, but seems disabled for Proton
-noeac
The noeac
flag has been disabled with the last patch. EAC doesn't load so the game no longer works :(
prime-run %command%
Often getting kicked out of games back to lobby
Often getting kicked out of matches
-noeac prevented me from logging in (configuration file error). plays without -noeac and haven´t encountered any eac error message
Cannot get passed EAC window without -noeac launch argument. After that the game runs flawlessly. No issues at all.
-noeac
Some other users are reporting they can play without -noeac argument, I'm not sure how because the game would always throw an EAC error.
-noeac
You need to have the command "-noeac" written in launch options for it to open, otherwise it will throw the EAC error window. Thanks to Saritie for commenting before.
-noeac
Previously I was not working until I used '-noeac' as launch parameter. I tried with some regular multiplayer matches and everything worked.
Unable to pass EAC's screen
PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME=$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton*EasyAntiCheat*Runtime/v2/lib64/easyanticheat_x64.so %command% >> log_file.txt 2>&1
I tried to launch it with GE
, Experimental
, proton 7.0
. I tried with and without the
PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME
environment variable. I tried with the following to log the errors and it fails silently :
PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME=$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton*EasyAntiCheat*Runtime/v2/lib64/easyanticheat_x64.so %command% >> log_file.txt 2>&1
PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME=$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton*EasyAntiCheat*Runtime/ %command% >> log_file.txt 2>&1
PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME=$HOME/.local/share/lutris/runtime/eac_runtime/v2/lib64/easyanticheat_x64.so %command% >> log_file.txt 2>&1
PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME=$HOME/.local/share/lutris/runtime/eac_runtime/ %command% >> log_file.txt 2>&1
The only way to run it is with the -noeac
flag which will probably get you banned in the long run.
Blocked by EAC
Also tried experimental and GE
Switch to stable for your system update channel, SteamOS 3.4 seems to make DKO's EAC not work for some reason
Make sure you're NOT on the preview system update channel! 3.3.2 is currently working!
Init fails silently
Try Proton 7.0-5 and Experimental with no luck.
Error: Failed to load the anti-cheat module.
Game plays great, i have a very similar experience both on windows and on linux, took little to no work to get it running
gamemoderun %command%
it stutters while compiling shaders for the first 3/4 matches, after that it works flawlessly
-noeac
Tried a few different versions of proton, game would start but throw anti cheat warning and close. I was able to pass -noeac and it works, surprisingly it even worked for multiplayer.
GE worked for me and launched just fine first try. The next day when I tried to play I get the EAC failed to load error.
Changed to GE-Proton7-42
Might work for you.
Ran great no anticheat issues kicking me from games. I did launch with an anti cheat error once but a restart fixed it.
12+ hours of online gameplay no issues
Doesn't launch. Tried proton 7.0-5 and experimental. Got this: "Failed to load anti cheat module"
The game run totally well under default proton, all on default settings it has full gamepad support and all is working well
Can be steam deck verified
Works perfectly well. Online matches work too.
Would not launch. Tried default proton, GE and experimental. "Failed to load anti cheat module"
Fails to load anti-cheat module
Tried with Proton 7.0-5, Proton Experimental and GE-Proton7-42; all fail to load anti-cheat module during initial game loading
I even tried to reinstall the proton eac fix but still getting blocked by eac.
Tried both default and experimental proton
Not working for now
I'd only recommend playing this if you're okay with playing solo only. (Needs GE-Proton-42 to install/play)
I was able to play solo without any problems but not duos. In duos I got kicked shortly after joining and playing for a few seconds without any message, but it's probably EAC.
EasyAntiCheat Runtime is installed
EAC not enabled it seems
Easy anti cheat not decteted
Tried stable proton, experimental and gloriouseggroll's, nothing could get past the easy anti cheat screen
It just works
This game use EOS EAC, it doesn't use Proton Easyanticheat Runtime. If you have anti cheat related problem it might be due to GLIBC incompatibility.
