SilentPatch https://github.com/CookiePLMonster/SilentPatchBully/releases Just download it and unzip it into the games files.
Some 2d objects would flash a white outline.
The game on start up wouldn't start loading until i clicked on the game. It would minimize and start loading.
(Reported experimental version: Proton Experimental)
The Game started after i used the launch option WINEDEBUG="+timestamp,+pid,+tid,+seh,+debugstr,+module" %command%
The at my monitor's resolution of 1440p the mouse starts to select things below it on the screen. This is only an issue windowed. Playing the game in a smaller window also helps.
I had to use this script to get the game running as it would crash without it.
Source: https://gist.github.com/flibitijibibo/c97bc14aab04b1277d8ef5e97fc9aeff
#!/bin/bash
set -e
find -name "*.wma" -exec bash -c 'ffmpeg -i "{}" -q:a 10 "${0/.wma}.ogg"' {} ;
find -name "*.wmv" -exec bash -c 'ffmpeg -i "{}" -q:v 10 -q:a 10 "${0/.wmv}.ogv"' {} ;
You would need to have ffmpeg installed for the script to run.
Audio sounded corrupted on the latest Proton (6.3-7). Using 4.11-13 fixed it.
Either it works 100% on Proton 5.13-4 or after about 20 hours of playing
If you get a black screen at the end of episode 13 lower the “Memory Stream” setting in Graphic Options to Default or Low.Seems to be a windows issue too.
I beat the game completely on linux. I was playing this game on proton 5.13-3 and was getting the same issues as others (face glitching, crashing) but after Proton 5.13-4 it is working perfectly. Because I had played it for 20 hours I can't be sure if the proton update or the hours played made it work. Hopefully it is the proton update.
alt-tabbing from the game would cause the game to become a black screen. I had to force close it after.
Was able to compleat the entire campaign.
All 3 games are perfect after converting the videos and editing the .exe so that the videos will play.
Had to covert the video .wmv files to .mp4 and flip them for them to play properly ingame.
I used the script made by ThunderReign below to convert the videos found in "game files"/dmcX/Videos (just open a termanal in the folder and copy the code you want and it will convert them to play ingame) then I opened the .exe files for each of the games with Okteta (you can use any hex editor) and used the find and replace tool to replace all instances of WMV with MP4. After that all 3 game's videos played perfectly with no issues.
While this seemed at first to be a bit complex to me it was not to hard to do and it only took me about 30 mins and most of that was waiting on the videos to convert in the background while I was doing other things.
Sometimes when starting the game audio would not play. Had to restart the game to get sound to work. The music in the launcher worked. I had the issue only when I was ingame.
I only played FFX and cant say anything about the other games included.
A high amount of partical effects absolutely destroys the frame rate. The main culprits seemed to be explotions, prolonged smg fire and shots from the konfident and sent my fps down to single digits. Setting the resolution to 1% and the Framerate cap to 120 helped give more of a buffer before the fps droped but a lot of the fire fights near the end went down to seconds per frame and i had to pause the game to get it to catch up.
If anyone finds a way to turn of particle effects the game would be perfectly playable for most
Parts of guns become black when held at certain angles.
Played on valve index. Had no frame rate issues. Could be because of my setup or the newer proton version.
added: [SystemSettings] r.VSync=0 to "/MARVEL VS. CAPCOM INFINITE/MVCI/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor/Engine.ini" to get the game running at 60fps as the game was locked to 50fps before i did this
ONLINE DOES WORK I was able to play with friends that where running both SteamOS and Windows on my Linux pc. I joined using room search and putting in the Lobby ID to join the room and once I was in it I had no problems playing games.
Outside of the vsync issue I have had no issues with this game or the MVC:I and Beyond mod
Online is working.
Opening video didnt play and showed screen test image. Was able to click past it.
They have enabled EAC for proton. I was able to play several rounds with diffrent players. All seems well with online.
No issues so far. Online and offline matches played whithout any problems.
Thanks to Feline Fowlfor the instructions I am just adding what I had to do.
Run the game once using proton 5.0-9. It will go to a black screen after the logos. Force close persona 4. Then use this protontricks command.
protontricks 1113000 wmp9 quartz devenum
Click though the installers This command might take 15 mins
Download "LAV Filters" from here https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases (choose installer) save it to your downloads. Then run
protontricks 1113000 --gui
Click "Select the default WINE prefix", click Ok
Run winecfg and go to Libraries tab
Select devenum and click Remove
Apply and Ok
"Run explorer" and click "Ok"
Navigate to folder with LAV Filters (Go to top bar and type Z:\ and type the full path using backslashes)
Double click EXE and follow installer with all defaults
Run winecfg again
New override > type "devenum", click add
Apply and Ok
Close window
If there was no controller input the input icons would go back to keyboard
Go into ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1382330/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/SEGA/Steam/P5S/config.xml and changing movies from a 0 to a 1
No cutscenes
The game plays great the only problem is that the game black screens any time there is a video cutscene. In-game cutscenes play fine. You can disable cutscenes in the config file to get the game working but if you want to follow the story I can't recommend playing this way.
Outside of having to cap the game at 30 the game runs like windows
The game would stutter if the fps was not caped at 30
6.5-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
On even the lowest settings I only got 20-30 FPS. On windows i got around 100-120 FPS on medium settings.
-disable-native-gc in Set launch options is still needed to get the game working
Some rocks or trees models wont spawn when playing at 60 fps but their collision boxes are still there. They will render on 30 fps.
Can be a bit laggy running around. Had to use the 30 fps cap to have the game run smooth.
The game crashed when doing large Cyloops. Especially when it caused somthing to come out of the ground. The game also consistently crash at certain quests. Specifically in the misson "A Grave Mystery" the game would crash when trying to move the top or right pillers. I could do this quest on my steam deck so i assume that it has to do with my nivida graphics card.
I will keep playing the game on my deck and give my thoughts after Im done
Lag near forested areas
Played it on my tv had no issues at the higher resolutions.
Launch Options: -noqt -usevgui
Some text in the map/model selector is hard to read.
Must render a movie as an image sequence. Rendering as a video is just black.
The game would crash on the start screen without GE. After switching the game ran with no issues.
Cutscenes requires mf_install (https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install) to play on Proton 5.13-1. Black screen otherwise.
Low frame rate at the start of the game. It got better overtime and by restarting the game.
I was able to play the entire game all the way though.
Works great
alt tab would make the game go windowed and pressing f to full-screen wouldn't work
Had to use " protontricks 438100 sound=alsa " for the mic to work.
Lag when using mirrors in game
Was able to play the entire game.
When the game starts the music crackles. It stops when you open a save game.
