The galaxy loading spinner for the menu is absent.
Besides the clipping issue (with the upcoming fix in DXVK) the game works flawlessly out of the box.
Due to a bug in DXVK some of the textures overflow their bounds. At the time of writing this has already been fixed in a commit that hasn't been part of a release though.
With Vsync on the mouse is very sluggish. Disabling Vsync fixes the issue with no detriment to performance.
On latest Proton (5.13-6) the game would eventually crash when accessing menus/inventory.
Local multiplayer didn't work in regards to connecting to co-op sessions on the same LAN.
Works out of the box. Definitely needs some optimization by the devs, but it's definitely playable.
Sometimes the ground will flicker. Nothing seems to fix it besides either rebooting the system or changing from RADV to AMDVLK.
FPS is 30-50 FPS and stutters fairly regularly
Works perfectly. Even the videos now work with normal Proton.
Played via Proton since Day 1 due to Linux client bugs and it's always worked flawlessly. Great as the native client isn't getting updates.

Using normal Proton the video after the Tutorial won't play, you'll hang on a black screen. Using a GloriousEggroll Proton build the video plays.

Some voices crackle slightly, fixed with
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
Due to needing to use protontricks (or winetricks), and the fact dotnet40 can sometimes fail to install properly it's just too messy
protontricks 962130 -q dotnet40
The Xbox Live login screen refuses to appear, so you can't enter your details.
DO NOT INSTALL dotnet40
Clean your prefix by deleting/renaming "steam/steamapps/compatdata/962130/"
and then rename "gamedir/Maine/Binaries/Win64/SpeechSynthWrapper.dll"
to something else (e.g. adding .bak).

The Xbox login window won't visually render, so you have to click around blindly by following the steps in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjpNhiv9_FY
Worked out of the box, and seems generally fine for most. The issue I had seems to be a weird edge case when WINE is being odd.
Due to missing texture/flickering foliage had to run
protontricks 1041720 -q d3dcompiler_43 d3dcompiler_47
This is a known fix for "unknown DWORDS" as mentioned by DXVK devs in numerous issues, e.g. https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/issues/1407
Using the current experimental branch with Vulcan support. Works really well without tweaks/workarounds. Texture quality on Medium uses ~4GB of VRAM. Everything else on high. Runs fine, with the occasional FPS dip, but nothing overly noticeable. Also get a lot of texture pop-in/fuzziness as it replaces the LOD? Bit annoying, but get used to it after a while (always been an issue anyway, as I recall w/o tweaks even on Windows).
Runs fine, however Borderless and Windowed modes rendered a black screen with just the menu. Changing to Fullscreen in the options made everything render correctly. FPS is maybe 10 or so lower than on Windows and there's minor jitter sometimes. My GPU temp ran hot (95C compared to 81C on Windows with the same settings), but I think that's more a problem with my system when playing via Wine (which is concerning).
The game generally ran fine. I had no crashes in 40 hours of game play. However, every now and again there'd be massive lag spikes that no amount of fiddling with options, or environment settings, or command line switches mitigated.

If you have issues connecting to a multiplayer game disable any other network interfaces you may have enabled. I had to disable and delete my Docker interfaces via nmcli.

With normal Proton the game gets stuck on a blackscreen. This seems to be because the game is expecting the company logo videos to play, and if they don't the game just stops. You can replicate the behaviour once the game is working by just renaming the logo mp4s.
Game crashes as soon as someone joins your lobby or you join someone else's lobby.
For a game that says it's co-operative the multiplayer side of things is a bit dyer. Slow lobby creation (even on Windows), desync issues, and the guest doesn't get any progression.
Works great once you change over to 5.9-GE-5-ST. Had one crash, but game saves so often it's not an issue.

For most people will work fine out-of-the-box
The game occasionally hiccups, but that seems the same on Windows
If using a resolution the game doesn't support natively in the resolution slider shadows end up looking stretched. The same issue happens on Windows.
Fixable by making a user.cfg
in the game's folder and adding:
e_ShadowsMaxTexRes=512
r_ShadowJittering=3
Due to the performance drops and graphical issues it's pretty frustrating in its current state.
Graphical issues began to occur after a while of play; such as large black squares over the landscape.
After being open a while with a really good smooth FPS it suddenly plummeted to 10-20fps.
After a Proton and mesa update (not entirely sure which fixed it) the previous issues I described seem to have gone and the game works well.
Native is riddled with bugs, but via Proton works fine
Native had numerous weird bugs: videos not playing, hotkeys not working, graphical issues, quit button not working - but via Proton everything is great.
Works fine out of the box. The handful of missing icons is a minor inconvenience.
Crema start logo is missing. Icons in fights such as targeting circle, who's turn it is, and buff/debuff arrows are missing (possibly others).
Works perfectly. AMD users may want to try AMDVLK instead of RADV if they notice missing icons though.
My previous report noted missing textures (attack icons, buffs/debuffs) whilst using RADV, but using AMDVLK fixes them.
Due to FPS issues it's not an enjoyable experience currently
Initially FPS was decent (40-75 FPS), but after restarting the game it was down to 13-20 FPS. Seems to be a known issue with the game.
Chiefly using Proton to easily enable mod support due to needing to override a DLL.
To enable BepInExPack Valheim install as normal and set the launch command:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp.dll=n,b" %command%
Game loads fine, server is offline (but that's apparently normal currently), in game FPS counter shows ~70FPS, but stutters a lot. GPU keeps bumping the fan up high every few seconds. Basically unplayable and changing the graphics settings don't seem to make any difference.
