Game runs perfectly fine OOTB
Game runs a little sluggish in windowed mode

gamemoderun %command%
I initially had a weird issue with the game not running but after installing it on another drive it now just works, very odd but sometimes this weirdness will just happen on Linux lol

gamemoderun %command%
Shadows are stretched and flicker until you mess with settings each game session, details below
When alt-tabbing back into the game, you need to hit alt+enter to go back to fullscreen
Out of the box and with recent protons, this game would start but would stay minimized no matter what I did. Switching to 5.0-10 fixed this issue. I see some other people recommend 4.2-9, but that proton crashes my game on launch. You might have to experiment a little.
Regarding wonky shadows, it's a resolution issue, but easily fixed.
Just go to graphic settings in-game, change the resolution to 1920x1080, take a few steps until shadows go back to normal, switch back to whatever resolution you use and voila, fixed for your game session. This was also the case when I played on windows.

Stuttering gameplay and FPS drops while driving vehicle
FPS drops
The game is already bug

Instalar e jogar!
Roda perfeitamente!

great experience, game ran well on integrated graphics, even using cryengine, it had satisfactory performance on linux
Windowed fullscreen mode is activated whenever switching using alt+tab
low FPS in some moments of gameplay.
sudden drops in FPS, even within the base
great game, and doesn't need any adjustments. just install and play. 4.2 but I believe it works in newer versions.
O jogo roda perfeitamente no sistema linux, até melhor do que se comparado ao windows. Apenas instale e jogue :)

DISABLE STEAM OVERLAY!!!!
setxkbmap -layout us -model pc105 && gamemoderun %command% -devmode ; setxkbmap -layout us,latam -model pc105 -variant dvorak, -option "grp:win_space_toggle"
NOTE: My command-line options are a single line.
After a lot of debugging I saw the ERROR: ld.so: object '/home/REDACTED/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored.
message too often, so I disabled the overlay and there it goes, it launches!
Looked at the terminal output. You should launch steam
from the console from time to time, particularly if you feel the need to debug. My recommendation, redirect STDERR
output as STDOUT
, then use tee
to write to a log file if you need to look for specific lines:
steam 2>&1 | tee -a /path/to/your_steam_log.log
Changed the screen refresh rate to 40hz and framerate lock to 40fps.
I have it installed on the micro-sd card. When driving fast or sprinting sometimes new areas/chunks that need to load makes the game stutter. I will try to move it to the SSD/internal storage to see if there is any difference.
Only glitch i experienced was that it sometimes fails to display the correct controller controls (example when it initially tells you to open the menu it sometimes will say tab instead of the button) otherwize flawless and this glitch only happened once the first time i ran it. even then other controls were all displayed properly
The game works flawlessly out of the box. Just install and play.
Just download and play pretty much
There is annoying dialog about not recognized video card on game launch, but after pressing OK everything is fine
FPS is unstable, but acceptable. Sometimes there are significant FPS drops, but I saw the same complaints on windows too.
Game crashed and was unable to load save game for awhile, do not know what I did to fix the issue, but it is no longer a problem.

On start, there's a warning about GPU not supported, but the game starts and runs fine after clicking ok.
The game ran very well, without any crashes, I had the same experience playing on Linux as if I were on Windows, using Steam
Yes, I also used GameMode.

runs perfectly out of the box
There is still an issue with my graphics card not being correctly detected and/or identified, as I am still getting an unsupported graphics card warning dialog upon launching the game. However, seems to have no in-game effect, as the game still uses my graphics card to render the game and I never experienced any graphical issues.
It runs much better than Windows. The best experience I have had playing this game!
For most people will work fine out-of-the-box
The game occasionally hiccups, but that seems the same on Windows
If using a resolution the game doesn't support natively in the resolution slider shadows end up looking stretched. The same issue happens on Windows.
Fixable by making a user.cfg
in the game's folder and adding:
e_ShadowsMaxTexRes=512
r_ShadowJittering=3
Works perfectly out of the box. Stable 60fps
Played initial locations with max settings at 1080p - got 40-120 fps (~60-70 most of the time). Gpu load was far from 100%. Proton 4.11-11.
Only runs at around 20FPS in average (even on lower settings) and has some lags and choppiness.
After setting "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%", it gives the "Unsupported video card" message but it does lunches and runs successfully. However, it runs only at around 20FPS on average on MEDIUM settings with lots of choppiness and lag; only barely playable.
Works out of the box
Menu starts. No able to play 1-2FPS
Work good with proton 3.7-8. Other version of proton run bad or crash the game.
They would add what version of proton they used. I have noticed that some games work with earlier versions of proton and fail or do not work with recent versions.

Worked out of the box, except for my mouse freezing at random times. I got a different one and it seems to have fixed the problem so far.

Says graphic card not supported on start up but plays perfect if you continue to game. Slightly lower fps than windows

Serious FPS improvement after disabling steam overlay.

Runs well after setting PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC %command%. Only a very tiny amount of lag.

Runs out of the box for me. Great performance.

Works out of the box without any issues and at a decent frame-rate, some occasional stuttering during shader compilation, but that is to be expected.

Playable but with shadows having graphical glitches. Launch option "PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%" fixes graphics, but then you get very poor performance instead.

Blank splash screens, and and polygon blocks instead of in-game text before enabling 'PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%", visually everything renders properly but then i get extreme lag.

Runs out of the box with a little bit less fps than on windows.

Initially when I launched the game the title screen/s were blank redish pink color, the main menu had no background, and all text were colored blocks. So I stopped the game, and set PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% to the Launch Options, and now all the visuals render correctly, except for lag, both in gameplay, and flickering shadows.

Does work out of the box but the fps are a bit lower than on windows and sometimes the screen freezes for a moment.

Since latest driver and beta updates, game runs exactly as intended.

About 60% of native performance. Over 60fps at High 1080p. Gives error that your video card is unsupported but works anyways. Has a glitch that causes the courser to move diagonally slowly to the upper left while aiming with guns and while in the map.
