Significant lower FPS than on windows, also when loading certain scenes it would stutter. This was not bad enough to affect the experience of the game.
Needs a dll from Microsoft's Visual C++ Redistributable:
wget https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe cabextract vc_redist.x64.exe cabextract a10
Copy ucrtbase.dll into ~/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/compatdata/813780/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32
This fixes the online multiplayer sync crash and now works perfectly using proton 5 or 5.13.
microstuttering
sort of stutters especially when moving the camera.
Pretty good, just a bit of a nasty bug, but if you just play the game without alt tabbing there are no issues
The game would cause the entire desktop enviroment to freeze for multiple seconds when anything happened outside of the game.
after 6 months of updates I am here to tell that the game now works perfectly fine.
start, is incredibly laggy, and then hits a black screen when you start a level.
when lots of enemies and effects were present it would slow down a little bit.
Alt tabbing is broken.
Played this game for more than 100 hours with proton. Big maps sometimes crash. Use the launch options to fix most of these.
played with these options> PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 WINEDLLOVERRIDES="wsock32=n,b" I also played with medium textures.
on large maps there was significant slowdown, and the game would sort of rubber band/stutter.
good stuff, but like the others said no voice recognition for now.
add %command% --disable-gpu to launch options to get launcher working
Good right now let's hope it stays that way.
Had a problem where when I hosted a game, for the other people it would lag significantly. This would stop after about 5 minutes. However this might be a problem with the game and not proton.
no speech sound and required a controller plugged in. but apart from that perfectly playable
