Worked out of the box with GE Experimental and DX12
Given my limited hardware, could play normally with GE Experimental / DX12 on 1024x768 resolution and removing all effects possible. Not tried another combination of configuration that could optimize the graphics performance.
Works for me only on proton-5.13.6 . Is broken for latest GE-proton-9-15 and steam default proton
Fatal Error all the time
gamemoderun VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr12 %command%
Tried couple of suggestions from the thread here but none of them seems to work. I tried first with native experimental which resulted in fatal error. Installed GE as advised but same results, regardless of DX11/DX12 and with corresponding launch options set.
Fun game, think DMC mixed with cod gunplay. A little instability at times, but playble on steamdeck oled for sure.
gamemoderun VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr12 %command%
Fatal error crash on death sometimes. It launches with whacky settings by default Launch with dx12 droped from 1080p to 800p. turned aa off, texture quality to medium, anistropic filtering at 4. shadow quality, reflection quality to normal refraction on ssao off volumetric lighting, particle light, DOF and chromatic abberation on high 40's - to mid 60's a bit of a wide range.
no artifacats, but the setting file syncs with steam cloud. so it'll be an issue if ya switch between devices. launched at 800p medium on desktop with a 3080
Sometimes it crashes when you die
Its a under $10 game. dont pay full price, small slowdown/hitches without a shader cache. on windows when that happend, smooth on deck
最高畫質40fps左右
"Fatal error" after a few minutes of gameplay
gamemoderun VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 %command%
when I clicked "TAB" the game was stopped sometimes
The game works well with a native proton and dx11 mode, but GE-Proton give a better experience and can run dx12 mode with some graphical bugs on particles and smokes
Some very weird artefacts in menu and game. Some text and items in menus are missing, and in game sometimes objects and textures are missing or distorted.
Sits around 40fps, but with lots of stutter.
Seems to only work on Proton 5.0.10
Set panel refresh to 40.
Very small text, particularly on the exit menu.
Proton 5.0-10 really was the only one that it would work with. How strange to depend on something so old. I took some settings down to medium and got a locked 40 FPS with refresh set to 40. Very smooth. I haven't played through much yet.
Nope.
6.3-8, Experimental crash at splash screens. GE7 crashes when changing settings or starting a new game.
The standard way, the game does start using Steam, shows "Fatal error" when launched. Crashes after a minute or two. A lot of people have that problem it seems.
Got the game running in Lutris by doing the following:
•Click "Manage runners" (in the 3 dots menu, upper right).
•Scroll down to "Wine Steam", install that.
•Click "Add game", in "Game info" type in the name, choose runner "Wine Steam".
•In the tab "Game Options" you add the ID "955050" (Game ID's can be found on their respective Steam store pages).
•Save these changes.
•Now you click "Run" and the game will install. You might need to log into steam over the popup window and then just follow the installation process.
•After that's done you should be able to play the game.
Game runs smoothly with no hiccups for me that way.
All of this, to play through the entire game in 35 minutes.
Runs good OOTB with some issues.
using dx12 there are artifacts like glowing water and dust but using using dx11 the game runs fine.
some cutscenes are missing.
Frustrating to play with Proton
In-game movies do not play (TV test signal)
Constant short freezes (texture streaming?)
A nice and snappy game with great Graphics. I had 2 hiccups, but otherwise stable 60 FPS on my GTX 1070.
On multi-monitor systems, the Game opens on the left-most monitor. It can't be re-assigned to an other one during fullscreen.
Need to select Proton 5.0-10 before install! Won't work if you try to install with another Proton version first.
The game ONLY works with Proton 5.0-10. Any other version of Proton will crash the game after a while.
Could play from the beginning to the end. Small frame drops and some stutter, as well as graphics glitches like glowing water and dust.
The game will play well if you keep Pre-Caching enabled, but you cannot watch any cutscenes.
Any areas where there should be videos, there are only colored bars (like an old TV test screen)
If you turn off steam shaders pre-caching, the videos will still not play (only black screens) and, there will be an UE4 "Fatal Error" and the game will crash shortly after
The issue seems to be cutscenes. If you are willing to give those up, the game does run with basically no other issues.
Cant load the actual game.
The game starts and I can see the menu, but whenever I try to click Continue+, it crashes on the loading screen. Tried with multiple proton versions (5.0-10, 5.13-6, 6.3-5, and proton 6.12.GE.1-1). There was a UE4 fatal error which was corrected by using the "-windowed" launch option. However, that didn't change the problem of crashing when trying to load the level.
Sometimes auto-save did not save at checkpoints. After redoing the section, progress was saved.
Runs fine with Proton 5.0-10
because of major performance hikups, No, a typical gamer wouldn't have
game would freeze frequently while playing
game would freeze frequently while playing
Game never started
I click play then it opens the pop up of steam to select version after I select dx11 one the only one I can hope to run, I hit play and nothing happens it just again shows me play button not even stop button on game page
Runs smoothly, some slight motion blur
controller would some times lock up and just keep vibrating
Had to play the game in the lowest settings and everything else disabled
Sometimes enemies dont spawn but fight music is still going on
Only during the first 3-4 seconds between cutscenes and the actual gameplay
Slight stuttering at the beginning. The game is not well optimized due to it being more of a tech demo, but that is unrelated to proton.
Ran great, game stutters for a few seconds on the main menu but it isn't anything noticeable
I ran the DX11 version, didn't try the DX12 build. I'm not sure that performance would be massively affected. I didn't test a controller and I only played for about 40 minutes but I didn't have anything that I wouldn't expect to see playing any other game. Runs great with vanilla Proton 5.0-7
Beim Bewegen sind die Texturen sind sehr rauschig Kanten sind sehr pixelig. Vieles muss mal nachgerendert werden trotz schneller Festplatte und Grafikkarte, ist in Windows nicht aufgetreten.
Performance is really bad in regards to my specs and other Unreal Engine games
Game freezes consistently when turning the camera too fast
Don't quite know why my experience is vastly different to other reports here. Might be some software problem on my end.
Be warned. The game is very short. The gameplay is solid however.
It is impossible to rebind the keys. I had to switch my keyboard layout to be able to play this game.
The performance isn't great on start-up.
Maybe if it doesn't crash like mine did.
First crash was when entering a cave. Second was when an enemy appeared. It looks like "cut scenes" cause the game video to crash, audio was still playing.
Unable to exit/kill game, Ubuntu was completely unresponsive requiring a hard reboot.
That said, apart from the few seconds stutter after loading, no problems running this one. No RTX support on Linux, but no surprises there.
Game stutters briefly after loading (just a few seconds). Runs smooth afterwards
Performance is great and I didn't notice any issues.
The game works perfectly. But it slows down over time.
Running on Proton 5.0-5 without flags. I don't know why this is happening but I have the impression that: The longer you play, the less fps you have. You need to restart the game from time to time to regain its initial performance. See video: https://youtu.be/LyRFQUcezf4
Works perfectly out of the box without any tweaks. Played it on Windows, too, absolutely NO differences in performance etc.
works great (I selected DX11 in the launcher), slight framerate dips right after loading a level
slightly degraded performance after loading a level
Now requires DirectX12 and quits.
Starts out with low fps, but picks up after a few minutes. Stays above 60 most of the time (3440x1440, max graphical settings)
Some texture problems but runs good otherwise.
While loading the game would show frames of previous cutscene
