Switched to Proton9-GE to get achivments. Game works fine with default Proton (currently version 9) but I got no achivments on my system.
Game works fine with default settings. i tried Proton-GE because I got no achivments. With GE I get them. Game works fine with both settings (default ones by Steam and GE)

Works perfectly great out of the box on high settings with 60 fps

No issues. Runs out of the box.

Game runs fine.
Cloudpunk runs fine right out of the box with Proton Experimental. No tinkering/forced compatibility.

Perfectly smooth on Steam Deck OLED at max settings, was able to also run docked at 30fps/1080p on high settings. Occasional drops to low 20s when entering a different area
Works right out of the box
Works great out of the box.

View of full map lags, but it's tolerable.
Can't get it to start. Tried multiple Proton versions. Works fine on my desktop, just not my deck.

Wrorks like a charm on GE's proton

Framerate is all over the place; the Deck quickly heats up to 80+ degrees when flying around in the game, even when the Quality is set to Simple (i.e. Low).
A rough game for the Deck; it is visually nice to look at and presents a huge city to explore, but the atmosphere and immersion are often obstructe by a very rough framerate and stutter. This seems to be bcause of a lack of optimization or a lack of configuration options.

Runs fine under normal proton, I am using GE8-6 out of habit with no issues however.
Limited to 30fps
Limit to 30 fps and you can still run it at Max settings on Steam Deck while nearly doubling your battery life.
Intesting game, it's enjoyable flying around the city. No problems running on the Steam Deck.
Seems perfect
Run great out of the box. Maybe not 60 FPS great, but still great.
Game looks and plays fantastic on the Steam Deck. No major issues noted. Definitely would recommend.
The game just cannot hold higher framerates even at lowest settings, and capped at 40 and the power consumption is INSANE. Devs HELP
The game just cannot hold higher framerates even at lowest settings, and capped at 40, you will experience drops when flying close to ground. You have to cap at 30 at lowest settings or render at 600p and use FSR.
The game just cannot hold higher framerates even at lowest settings, and capped at 40, you will experience drops when flying close to ground. You have to cap at 30 at lowest settings or render at 600p and use FSR. The power consumption is one of the highest I've seen on Deck even at lowest settings and 40 fps. The game can easily eat as much power as Forza Horizon 5 which is INSANE.

You have to cap at 30 at lowest settings or render at 600p and use FSR. The game is insanely power hungry. Not recommended, and no wonder the switch port was a disaster if it does this to a Steam Deck
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Memory leak, it uses 16GB of RAM and then it will use the swapfile causing serious slowness
Runs great out of the box.
No issue.
I finished the game & the DLC, no issue whatsoever.
Parts of the game would be black when switching to windowed and back to full screen. the game didnt refresh the "new" area of the game window
When booting normal Proton - i would get audio but a black screen. With proton experimental - everything worked fine
Once an hour or so crashes, related to the AMD driver.
Generally fine.
Used FSR and rendered at 600p. FSR will not work unless a resolution lower than 1280x800p, is a 16:10 aspect ratio, and windowed mode is on. Graphics are set to medium.
Right on dpad is bound to hide hud, yet right on dpad is also used to menu select which will also hide the hud when selecting to the right.
Finished game without issues
Fell through the floor a couple of times but that seems to happen on windows for some people as well
My review below was Steam defaults. This must have used Proton 7.0-3 by default (I dont know how to tell, was at 1st July 2022). However I found I had to Force Steam Compatibility tool and then select 7.0-3 (presumably same one, the current latest as at review) and then the game worked perfectly for hours on end without issue.
Stuttering, low FPS after some playing.
In the first 30 mins to 1.5hrs, the game plays fine at up to 60 FPS.Then, 30 mins to 1.5hrs in to the gaming session it dropped half framerate low FPS, lots of stuttering. Only reboot would fix but would happen again. Noticed GPU stops being used as much, 80deg C down to normal 60deg C at the point when FPS goes bad. Havent found fix yet. PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 did not make a difference. Game settings didnt make a difference.
Limiting of FPS and lowering in-game settings
Sometimes NPCs would just pop in and out. Could be a general bug and not a Proton thing though.
Uses ~23 watts with 60 FPS. Limiting FPS to 30 either ingame or via performance overlay reduces this to ~12 watts and doubles batterie life while still being enjoyable.
Practically works as native without tinkering.
Ocassional stutters after loading new areas on ground, but I'm talking twice within a half hour test session.
I found the PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 option caused stutters and reduced my FPS significantly, I recommend against it. I lowered the in-game culling options to their minimums.
Occasional stuttering, particularly around crowded traffic
Achievements used to work, but no longer do, possibly related to switching install location.
The PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 used to help but might actively harm performance as of the latest patch. It is worth testing the game both ways
Nothing is wrong, feels like the game was made with linux in mind
