40hz 40fps lower tdp
Be aware that you will have to use the touchscreen to navigate the launcher. If you are having problems with cutscenes or audio, use the latest ProtonGE but it should work fine out of the box.

Used Aterlier Syncfix
Freezes in some loading screens
Likes to reset graphics settinfgs after freezing. Freezes on some loading screens, makes progression annoying. Even with atelier syncfix
The latest patch skips the horrible 2k launcher and the game works fine now
40hz 40fps 8w tdp
Remember the game only autosaves in level change loading screens. Also, if you put the deck to sleep there's a chance you might crash on a load screen. Try not to let it sleep while playing this one.
The game just cannot hold higher framerates even at lowest settings, and capped at 40 and the power consumption is INSANE. Devs HELP
The game just cannot hold higher framerates even at lowest settings, and capped at 40, you will experience drops when flying close to ground. You have to cap at 30 at lowest settings or render at 600p and use FSR.
The game just cannot hold higher framerates even at lowest settings, and capped at 40, you will experience drops when flying close to ground. You have to cap at 30 at lowest settings or render at 600p and use FSR. The power consumption is one of the highest I've seen on Deck even at lowest settings and 40 fps. The game can easily eat as much power as Forza Horizon 5 which is INSANE.
The game just cannot hold higher framerates even at lowest settings, and capped at 40, you will experience drops when flying close to ground. You have to cap at 30 at lowest settings or render at 600p and use FSR. The game is insanely power hungry. Not recommended, and no wonder the switch port was a disaster if it does this to a Steam Deck
Runs mostly fine out of the box but I recommend using the 40hz 40fps mode to avoid ocasional drops which happen at higher framerates
40fps
Problems have been solved in Proton GE43 and Bleeding Edge experimental as a hack was needed to prevent audio desync and stuttering.
40fps. 40hz. Medium preset
Ubisoft connect launcher puts pop up that need to be closed with keyboard commands. After opening the Ubisoft Overlay, one must navigate to options and disable in game notifications. The overlay cant be closed so we must reboot the game. Sometimes the Ubisoft launcher misbehaves or asks for a password, ignore it and wait, it should solve on its own without our input.
Sometimes grass flickers in sunlight. This is a driver problem and has been reported to mesa. Turn AA to high to mask it.
You must manually select fullscreen as it defaults to a borderless that doesnt work great
You need to select a gamepad config before launching the game as it does not do so by default
You will be fine as long as: You use Proton Ge43 or newer or, as of this report, Valves Bleeding Edge Update the deck to the latest version to get the new mesa driver In game select Fullscreen and turn off photomode. The game scales fine but has framerate swings, I recommed capping at 40hz, 40 fps or 60hz 30 fps and using the Medium preset at native resolution. It might stutter as cache build the first time you jump in water or cause certain particle effects. I recommend runming the benchmark before starting to play to build some cache. Should not be a problem later. Enjoy!
You need to have applied mods to the DeckOS and the Bios that while simple, some dont know how to make, install GE and symlink saves
-d3d11
You need to apply Cryoutilities' Swapfile & swappines mod and set vram to 4gb
30fps 60hz
The game moves your save paths around. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2896702534 Check here, but basically the game can have so many filepaths for your saves and you need to make a symlink to the one the game actually reads to fix saves and cloud sync
You need to be careful with settings in the Abbey and you shouldnt really expect stability above 30fps in that part of the game.
The game likes to crash on end of day cycle, though with fixes, people claim it works now.
Game likes to crash.
It's apparently possible for the game to work if you have the mods made, run it a low settings 30fps, but experiences are contradictory. I was able to play on dx12, all low settings 30fps, native res with GE43, the cryobyte33 changes 4gb vram and pinning the clock speed to 1400, you mileage might vary, reports are contradictory and I did have serious trouble before it strated to work after a patch some claimed makes thing worse. I recommend AVOIDING IT FOR NOW UNLESS YOU REEEEALY NEED IT.
JUST DONT USE PHYSX, Everything else is golden at max settings
Seriously, dont enable physx
Basically, it now works great with experimental and you can even watch the cutscenes. A massive improvement from before that needed 5.1
Stretched vertically a bit from 720 to 800p
INSTALL THIS ONLY TO GET THE FILES NEEDED FOR RAISING HELL. THEN INSTALL RAISING HELL AND RUN FROM THERE SO YOU CAN PLAY FULL VERSION
40hz 40fps 9w tdp
Save files need to be manually transfereed to the expansion by going into compatdata
Installing the expansion disables this version on deck when they should both boot to the same exe. However since we can launch from the expansion this is irrelevant
This version of the game works fine but is needless. The expansion installs as a standalone but installs files to the same folder. Installing Rising Hell makes the deck not want to launch this one anymore, which is weird since on pc this one also launches the expansion, but just launch rising hell. If you played this one first you need to move the
pfx/drive_/ user/documents/Overlord folder from this games compat data to Rising Hells compatdata in the same path inside the Rising Hell compatdata. Saves are compatible, just need to be moved as the games share install folders but not compatdata folders. I suppose you could symlink those but there is no need. Just move your saves and launch from the expansion
REMEMBER. INSTALL OVERLORD FIRST, THEN RISING HELL. THEN LAUNCH FROM RISING HELL. FULL GAME RIGHT THERE.
40hz 40fps 9wtdp
If you played the normal Overlord first, you need to move the
pfx/drive_c/ deck user/documents/Overlord folder from this games compat data to Rising Hells compatdata in the same path inside the Rising Hell compatdata. Saves are compatible, just need to be moved as the games share install folders but not compatdata folders. I suppose you could symlink those but there is no need. Just move your saves and launch from the expansion
Install the og first, then this, then run from Rising Hell. If you played OG first go hunt for your saves in compatdata and bring them to this ones compatdata in desktop mode.

Just use Rising Hell and use STEAMGRIDDB to spruce up the Rising Hell page

Turn Shadows To low to avoid stutter. Rest can be High Preset. 50fps. Use ProtonGE to save 4gb of storage space in transcoded video.
If you use Proton-Ge which does not need video transcoding, you can go into the Shadercache folder for the game and erase the transcodedvideo.foz file to save yourself 4gb of storage what would be wasted otherwise
Turn shadows to low. Other settings can be bumped very high but shadows above low causes stuttering when Sypro breathes fire.

You need the Widescreen fix, and the launch command. Optionally two more downloads restore cut content. Worth it. Ps3 textures also work.
-shadowmode=projector
You need to download https://github.com/ThirteenAG/WidescreenFixesPack/releases/tag/sc to fix the resolution and https://archive.org/details/splinter-cell-extra-content https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1TXdHKV8aewA8vi0zwA8sHc87gCNh0NiC to get the cut content back. Each zip file has intructions but its all copy and paste, really

You can sometimes get missing textures on loading levels but it either goes away on its own after a moment or you need to load the second level then reload your save.

Videos and tutorials are broken and the experience suffers heavily given the kind of game. Wait for a fix
Cutscenes and tutorial prompts don't play which seriously ruins the experience
The game has drops even on medium setting which the deck should be able to handle. Cap at 40fps
You need to search the lirbary for Steam Common Redistributables and install before running this game. Bugsplat window = Verify files cache
Bind a trackpad to mouse and left click to enable the gamepad in the game's menu
50 Hz 50Fps Allow tearing in Overlay, Vsync in Game, 7w tdp
You may see a Bugsplat window if you do, back out and Verify Install Files or Reinstall The game
You need to manually enable gamepad support by using mouse ina trackpad to navigate menus
Be aware, you need to search the lirbary for Steam Common Redistributables and install before running this game. You may have it already from other titles in which case you are golden. If you see a Bugsplat window, Verify install cache or Reinstall the game. If you still have graphical or launch problems after installing Steam Common Redistributables try downloading the Monster Hunter Demo for its C++ redistributables but it should not be needed. Proton-Ge has a slight problem with shadow as of the time of writing (GE43), use valve's
