Had to add PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 to make it playable. Other than that, the game is working the same as in Windows.
I had to use PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
, otherwise the game was stuttering so much that it was basically unplayable.

You rarely can get more "AAA" than Cyberpunk 2077 and it runs smoothly. Even the launcher options are not needed if you don't need ray tracing (the game looks better without ray tracing imo). That means one of the most "AAA" game in the market is running straight out of the box in Linux. Who would have imagined this 10 years ago!
Since this game depends on some old libraries, they are not available in latest Linux systems and custom protons like Proton GE. So I had to choose Proton Experimental and it runs just fine.
I had to disable and enable fullscreen option in game settings to fix the fullscreen issue on the first run. Other than that worked smoothly in Ultra settings.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b"
I had to install vcrun2019 and ms-fonts for Rockstar Games Launcher to work.
I am not able to change graphics settings from inside the game settings menu. But it is possible to do it from the game's Home screen. Whenever I access the graphics option inside the game, the game crashes.
Game is playable using Wine-GE after following wine and graphics driver installation instructions from GE github readme.
Sometimes the game freezes and quits automatically. I have tried downgrading Wine-GE version one-by-one to try and fix this issue. So far I have found that Wine-GE-Proton7-32 is working fine.
I can't change graphics settings from in-game. Even accessing the graphics menu will cause the game to crash.
To get the social club sign in work the first time, I had to install vcrun2019 using winetricks. Without this the game won't run.
It's really amazing how far Linux gaming has reached. Unbelievable performance in Ultra settings and 165Hz.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
self thought-boxes jittering constantly while walking
Performing unbelievably well in Linux!
Straight out of the box, the game runs perfectly.
I had set fractional scaling set to 150% in Display settings. Setting it back to 100% fixed performance issues.
I'm able to play in Ultra settings.
Proton Exp worked one day, not so the next day. Switched to Proton 5.13-6 to fix it, but with less performance. Audio fix in launch option.
Black stripes or streaks appear in textures
FPS is slightly low
Periodically need to verify integrity of Proton Exp tool to fix game not launching issue. Other than that, same experience as in Windows.
fixed it through the launch option WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b"

Using GE Proton, I'm able to play in Ultra settings smoothly.
