Works perfectly
Did not recognize the controller, I think the game lacks controller support, but works perfectly fine with keyboard and mouse
Only lacks controller support but other than that works perfectly

le jeux s'installe tres bien le jeux se lance facilement parfaitement jouable aucun bug temps de jeux environ 1h30
installation et jouabilité parfait et sans reglage

Native support and works right out of the box.
Saints Row 3 works right out of the box because it has native support. In a worse scenario, you can run the Windows version with Proton or Wine, but I haven't dealt with that issue.

The native version crashes just before you get to the main menu. The log doesn't really provide any helpful information.
My game would be stuck on 'updating executable' only to finally finish & then immediately crash. The way I worked around it is:
Go into "steamapps/common/Saints Row the Third/" Rename "game_launcher.exe" to "game_launcher.backup" Rename "SaintsRowTheThird.exe" to "game_launcher.exe"
Set your proton version to 7.0-6, then launch the game as normal.*
Trying to use the DX11 executable resulted in no changes; the game just immediately crashes after updating executable.
Hopefully this helps someone down the line.
*Proton Experimental/GE might work for you, I just used an older version.

Switching to Experimental stopped the crashes. Otherwise there were no issues.
Would stutter and freeze when loading up a save

Ain't perfect but sure as hell enjoyable
you'll encounter "hiccups" every now and then where the game will look like it crashed but give it about 15-30 seconds and it'll snap back to reality. Only had 1 crash through my playthrough.
3rd St Saints 4 life

Native, the game's borked. Proton works OK although it did crash on me at one point.

Game will crash after playing the intros at the start. Need to use an older version of proton as native doesn't work.

If you're fine with 1-2 second freezes every 5-10 seconds it's not bad
Game ran fine and everything was normal, but every 5-10 seconds the game would freeze. Normally I wouldn't care but considering this is a native port I feel it needs to be mentioned

Native is native, everything works, you can play
Everything is working as usual
I have not found the popular problems described here that are common to other distributions.

disable voicechat in the game settings
the game crashes when entering co-op
works great after tinkering
linux version crashes, with proton just gets to the cool car intro but crashes after

Game works out of the box, the Linux build is broken on AMD and works terrible on Nvidia, use Proton as it 3x the perfomance.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=144 %command%
It breaks if you do ALT+TAB, then you must kill the process as there's no way to go back to the game.
Very rarely game locks itself to 30FPS (probably not Proton related), fixes itself restating the game.
Adjust DXVK_FRAME_RATE to your monitor's refresh rate as intro cutscenes are completely unlocked (will do 2000FPS+).
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=110 RADV_PERFTEST=gpl gamemoderun %command%

I tried the few solutions listed here for this game, but I just can not get the game to run.

Game freezes for 2-10 seconds every couple minutes when Steam is in online mode
Native game is unplayable, crashes on main menu. You need to run it with proton.
SR3 has an issue where the game tries to connect with the servers that are now long dead, and the game freezes for 2-10 seconds every couple minutes. Setting DXVK_ASYNC=1 seems to not work anymore. What fixed it for me was setting steam to offline mode before launching the game.

I am stubborn, but I feel that most gamers wouldn't have the patience to keep redoing parts of missions due to crashes.
Changed Display.ini line "DisplayIndex" to 2 to force it to use my main monitor when in full screen.
Followed below instructions to bypass the DX selection launcher: Rename the "game_launcher" application file. Rename "SaintsRowTheThird_DX11" to "game_launcher".
Cursor flickering
Brief frame drop on cell load
Manually saving during the first mission causes a crash, attempting to skip some cutscenes crashes the game. Seems like both happened when they were moreso transitional elements in the game and not actual cutscenes, like when you can't control your player character because they're stumbling or interacting with something else.
Skip crashes can be avoided by being more patient I suppose, but I don't trust any autosave system so knowing my manual saves may cause a crash is a bit annoying. I tried a few Proton versions but they didn't provide a different experience than Experimental, so I just left it on Experimental.

Boton Steam+Touchpad Derecho o pantalla tactil para elegir Direct 11/10 y listo.
Version de proton usada 6.3.8

Usar boton Steam+Touchpad para elegir DX11/10.
Bajadas aleatorias a 0 FPS durante 20/30 segundos
Cuelgues de entre 20/30 segundos.
Version de Proton probadas: 8.0.3 y 7.0.6

Without steam commands or editing hosts file (thank you protondb contributor) it would be really masihistic to play this game
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=75 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
<30 fps when near the water
I finished this game 2 times on windows and I don't remember that many cyberpunk like bugs with people being teleported on roof of the cars but it's not a big deal it's just a funny bug
DX 10&11 mode works better for me than DX9. I locked FPS to 75 because regardless of settings the game can barely maintain this, not mentioning 144

Sometimes the game freezes for a brief moment.
Make sure to use the Windows version with Proton 7 if you are using a rolling release distribution, otherwise the game would crash after the intro.

You need to use touchscreen to select DX11/10
No issue encountered and finished the game smoothly.

Works ootb on Proton 8.0.2
Forced Proton 8.0.2 on settings. DirectX 10/11 option from the launcher works.
Pop!_OS 22.04 (x11)
Steam flatpak

Crashing as soon as it reaches its third menu on start-up. Window with DirectX selector also not showing up.
Does not work
Native works just fine.
Seems to not work at all on some people's systems, though.
Instant crash after intro videos on both native and Proton
Steam command logs don't show any missing libraries or anything
Works fine on Proton

After playing for a while the games textures started to dissapear and the game started to lag. Eventally everything except npc's were visible everything else was black.
lot of slow down eventally a memory leak and crash.
Crashes due to memory leak and texture degration after 20 min of play.
Proton despite what people say has many issues stick with native
Native version broken. Use Proton instead
Nothing serious. Just some fps drops in game start. Wait for 1-2 minutes, and everything will be allright
I'm played the game about ~1 hour, everything works fine
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Block the Server in your Hosts file - Online Servers are dead anyway. - It Fixes all the FPS Pausing.
On the Main Menu, the FPS keeps going from 1, then jumping back up. Every few seconds. - Causing infinite Freezes.
I use DX9 - It runs better && Faster.
DX11 is too Heavy for my System. - DX9 was better Overall.
If you don't have a Consistent Connection for "Online" (Dead now) / Or using a VPN. - You will see a Significant Lag in the Game. - You can choose to play this game in Offline Mode. - Or Choose to Redirect to Localhost.
This is using GE's Custom Proton, Since Native is kinda Bugged. Added a Block in /etc/hosts. It fixes all of the FPS Freezing. There's no need to use ProtonTricks to also Block it in Proton/Wine - It will work straight from the Host Machine. - Result: The game works amazing now!
sudo nano /etc/hosts
####### SR3 Lag Fix. 127.0.0.1 sr3.hydra.agoragames.com
CTRL+O CTRL+X

Extremely laggy without using the given launch options. At max settings 1440p, I get 4fps. With the launch options, I get 45-90fps.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
a slight bit of lag occasionally although that might just be my connection.
Bit problematic
random crashes and crashes at gun store, nothing worked to fix
On wayland, the menu's get slower and slower overtime. Alt-tabbing resolves the issue for a while, but it does come back. Personally I don't mind it too much
Make sure to enable proton 7.0-2, since the native version does NOT work.
The native Linux support didn't work at all! I didn't want to play this game on Proton as a Windows game, I just wanted to play nativly. But when I hit the button, it showed me a bug report window. That's all I got on Native support. Then I tried Proton, and it just worked. I choosed Proton version 7.0-4 on purpose becasue I use Arch Linux, and Arch tried to keep everything latest so sometimes things might broke! So I wanted to go with a stable release from the begening.
- Arch Linux / Proton 7.0-4
- Play with Medium graphyics just becase of my PC specifications.
- Play with Nexus Mods (not with Vortex) and Saints Row Mods.
- It just work like on Windows 10 - nice and smoothly!
Gra działa ale
Native dramat o wiele więcej fps jest gdy gra się z protonem, u mnie około 15-30 fps :(
