Got the cutscenes to work using the latest Proton GE (9-20). The game runs at stable 60 FPS on ultra settings, but you can lower them if you want better battery life. The game natively supports a gamepad, I just had to adjust the stick sensitivity (both vertical and horizontal) to 2.0; otherwise, the character feels like a tank
Use only proton 8, otherwise it will crash in 20-30 seconds after launch, no matter what you do next
Cutsceen videos not working
Won't work on most recent versions of Ubuntu
Tried multiple Proton versions and launch options commands
It should be labelled abandonware
works fine
only 'issue' I found (I wouldn't call this an issue, but it's fair to mention it anyway) is that the images during the loading screens were not shown. Audio played. Everything else "just works".
Once I figured out that I needed to enable NVAPI, the game ran smoothly. Before that, I would barely get 30fps at the game start screen.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command%
Cutscene videos won't play or play with audio only
MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command%
Install and play, no need to change anything in setting or configure additional parameters.
No cutscene videos, never noticed and thought that the game was just straight up lacking any story.
Most of the videos don't play, including the pre-mission story clips.
Save data is deleted when the game is uninstalled. No Steam Cloud support.
Launches and runs great. Cutscenes during the loading screen do not work though
Everything looks and runs great. No video cutscenes during loading screens though.
runs great except the videos
cutscenes will not play
Ultra settings, 1440p 144Hz, Perfect
cutscenes don't play, even when selected from extras menu
For thos having DirectX error when launching the game. Use Proton 5.0-10
At the time of writing this, 6.3-8 is default stable Steam version. For me, it boots to main menu, where game asks you to press any key to start.
It'd crash after I'd press the key.
4.11 works great (kernel 5.10, package linux-lts
on arch)
DirectX 10 device missing
The game launches, but the only window that pops up is "DirectX 10 device not found"
Proton-6.10-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.10-GE-1
No cutscenes
Switching to Glorious Eggroll 6.10-GE-1 made the game perform roughly the same as Windows (no more crashing in the menu). Still no cutscenes, though.
Crashes when clicking in menu
Can view the main menu, but try to move the mouse or click anything and the game immediately crashes. Tried several different options (including forcing D9VK) but nothing helped. (Using Proton 6.3-4) HOWEVER The standalone GOG installer, installed via Wine and run through Lutris (using system-installed dxvk 1.8.1-1), works very well (only the cutscene-videos are missing, which, going by the other reports, is a common problem).
Works OTB
Ran flawless out of the box minus cut scenes.
The only thing that doesn't work are cut-scenes between chapters. They don't add anything anyway, so it's actually better ;-)
The game ran perfectly fine with Proton 5.0-9, GE version crashed the game at launch.
My hardware was too weak to run the game adequate framerates so I didn't play that much (even after tweaking the config file to lower settings even more). Cutscenes didn't play and I nearly had a seizure on the loading screen because it flashes the screen very rapidly. Apparently cutscenes are fixed with the mf patch, see other reports for instructions on how to install it, I didn't try myself because there was no point since I'm not going to play this version.
Works out of the box
It opens shortly a window but this windows just closes after a few seconds
Tried with and without mf-install - both same result
Pas de vidéo sans installation manuelle de "mf-install".
Une fois téléchargé et unzippé, voici la commande à exécuter :
PROTON="/path/to/steamlibrary/steamapps/common/Proton 5.0" WINEPREFIX="/path/to/steamlibrary/steamapps/compatdata/407810/pfx" ./mf-install.sh -proton
Runs pretty much perfectly
An insignificant issue: The loading screen flickers.
Silently crashes
Play button starts then returns with no screen
Game runs great out of the box (note: mf-install needed for cutscenes). Ultrawide supported (note: cutscenes play in 16:9 pillarbox).
3440x1440 max graphics, 200+ fps at all times
Everything works out of the box except for the pre-rendered videos. Media Foundation must be installed in order for them to play.
Intro videos and cutscenes don't work out of the box. They are just skipped so gameplay is not affected. To get them to work, you need to install Media Foundation (https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install). Some steps on how to install it:
- Download and extract the zip file.
- Once extracted, open the terminal in that new directory (be sure mf-install.sh has the "Allow executing file as program" option checked in the file's properties).
- Type 'WINEPREFIX="/path-to-your-steamapps folder/compatdata/407810/pfx" ./mf-install.sh' in the terminal.
так то игра идет нормально, бывают просадки в замесах но норм
просадки до 15 фпс в замесах
Game works but it is missing the videos.
Game works with good performance, tried windowed, fullscreen, controller, alt+tab everything works except videos. Videos are just skipped and don't prevent playing the game.
Working perfectly, great performance. Zero issues.
"DirectX 10 Device Not Found" bug is still present. Game will not launch.
Runs fine in DXVK even in 4k on Plasma Wayland. Video sequences might not work.
