Perfectly splendid!
Game stutters when gathering items and navigating 2D menus
Game stutters for 0.5~ second when gathering, and for 0.5~ to 2 seconds when opening or navigating 2D menus.
Some micro-stutters, but overall a pleasant experience
Micro-stutters occur
Only able to get to the splash screen. After that, Steam reported the game as "Running" but there was no GUI.
Unable to play the game whatsoever.
It's playable **if** you are willing to tolerate the launcher crashing on you a few times while installing the game.

Slightly lower FPS than on Windows.
Frequent crashing of the launcher during installation of the game. No longer occured once installed.

Played on Ultra settings, and controller rumble worked as expected as well.
The game stutters occasionally
Occasional stutters, playable but a little annoying.
The stutters make the game uncomfortable to play. An avid Hitman fan would certainly be able to put up with it, but otherwise it impedes on the experience.
Using the Xbox Elite 2 controller, some buttons aren't mapped correctly. (This issue occurs in other games.)
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 DXVK_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command%
The game installed and launched, but as soon as I attempted to start a new game, it crashed.
Worked perfectly splendid
I doubt this is because of Proton, but for some reason the controller mappings (Xbox One controller) for A and B were swapped around on first launch. The issue persisted upon resetting to default settings. I had to go to the settings and remap them manually. After that, everything was flawless.
The game stopped responding on the splash screens.

Perfectly splendid!
Unable to launch game, freezes on splash screens
Before the game loads, a few splash screens are displayed. When "!f IDEA FACTORY" is shown, the game freezes, and the window stopped responding. This renders the game unplayable.
Game launches, but cursor is offset in main menu
Able to install and launch the game fine, however in the main menu the cursor is offset from UI elements.
If I power through the offset cursor to navigate to the options and disable full screen, the game window turns black, but music continues playing.
Pressing x on the window or ALT
+ F4
does not close the game. I had to press "Stop" on Steam.
The game ran unplayably slow.
Game runs very well overall
The game consistently crashes if I 3-finger-swipe on my trackpad to switch to another workspace than the one the game is running on. It does not occur if I 3-finger-swipe to come back to the game, or switch workspace through keyboard shortcuts.
Starting a new game and continuing that playthrough was fine
I was able to continue a game, and start a new game. Loading a game from one of my save slots would lead to a perpetual loading screen.
When trying to launch the game, there is a Steam error appeared that says the game failed to update.
Instead of using Proton, you can just opt-in to the public beta which has native Linux support instead. This will work flawlessly.
