The game LOOKS like it's working but...
trying to start the story mode immediatally softlocks you also to add insult to injury video playback does not have sound.
looked over at Steam Deck Options. to See Someone got it running out of the Box with GE-Proton 9-2. Opening Movies don't have audio
Forgot to mention I loaded the game by switching proton to GE-Proton9-2.
Movies will play with no audio coming from them.
The game works fine despite there not being any audio to the movies. There was some lag when playing those movies, but they can be skipped by button mashing the confirm (A) button.
Remove all WMV file form data/movie and date/ui/logo then game won't freeze with proton 8.0-3.
Switching game resolution cause game to hang but setting still save just restart game.
The game runs fine after remove all wmv file but still have press A button or mouse left click to get pass black screen after Now Loading.
Unable to launch game, freezes on splash screens
Before the game loads, a few splash screens are displayed. When "!f IDEA FACTORY" is shown, the game freezes, and the window stopped responding. This renders the game unplayable.
TDP can be as low as 5 watts with no noticable impact to performance.
Installed Proton-7.2-GE-2 via ProtonQt and forced the game to run with it.
Intro and ending movies do not work (as well as a few company logos), but they are both just .wmv files and can be played with VLC media player. They're located in: steamapps/common/MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies/data/movie.
Game runs without issues otherwise.
On launch, after the first loading screen, the game is freezing during the Idea Factory video. Most of Proton versions will bring a black screen or only sound before getting stuck. Proton Experimental will display the video but will still freeze. Also tried some protontricks for codec videos without success.
The only working solution was brought by previous report from Kibaka, thanks a lot. You actually have to switch to 7.2-GE-2. The initial IF video, then the opening, will display a black screen but you will be able to skip then. The game is running really fine after this, even if fans are spinning a lot.
Need to use previous GE Proton version to be able to skip the opening movies. Afterwards, game appears to run fine with no issues from what I've played.

Switching to GE, experimental, etc. all didn't fix it or made it instantly crash
went to the exe file and clicked wine program launcher when i right clicked (comes with proton tricks).
not much to say. it worked as expected.
Crashes to desktop after 5 minutes of gameplay.
Multiplayer is effectively dead, but I was able to connect and play online.
Conclusion: Proton 7.2-GE-2 is able to fix the inital movies issue, but now the game is in a state where it is not stable enough to play for any longer than 5 minutes.
Initially, this would be seen as a regression, but since Proton 5.0-2, the game as actually refused to skip past the intro movies. This is a huge step, but it's still not quite there yet.
Click the mouse several times when the initial black window comes up to skip non-playing intro movies and get to the game. The game runs OK after you skip the intro.

Unknown(an hour with Proton)I would not call this Platinum as that is simply not true, otherwise the Intro opening for this game would work but this game is playable after skipping through the Intros and getting to the Menu. The Intro won't play so you have to skip a few black screens til you get to Menu. After that its playable. But if someone manages to get the intros playable somehow (i tried windows media player 32bit prefix trick like with Megadimension Neptunia VII but that just led to the game stuck on black screen so that didnt work), then it would raise the rating to gold at least.
This would be silver simply because not all the intro videos play, but the game works perfectly fine at least. If the game is the only thing that matters, the game is platinum, just not the beginning intro.

Unlike attempts on previous versions of Proton, character models now display and the game runs smoothly. However, the game does take a while to start and does so after some spamming of the controls.

To advance past black screens keep pressing K/A-button to reach title screen. Gameplay runs smooth @60fps without slowdowns. Character and enemy models actually load up now with proton 4.2-3. Multiplayer mode with other players and doing quests work fine.
