Works perfectly fine with the latest proton version. Just like on Windows.
Latest Proton release. Didn't notice any visible glitches while playing and was able to finish an entire season without issues. Flawless.
Proton-7.0rc6-GE-1
Game occasionally freezes. In +10hours of playtime this occured 4 times. Always when the game is saving or loading. Restarts are the only option. One freeze effected the entire system and a PC restart was necessary.
Only issue i noticed is the lack of background video in the character selection. Seems to run perfectly fine.
During the character selection a video in the background isn't playing. It doesn't look weird but for those who know that it should be there it may seem empty. Has no effect on the menus or gameplay.
Game doesn't recognize inputs. Unable to make it past "press any button". Controller instead of a keyboard has the same result.
game itself works perfect. no issues whatsoever. But as of right now it doesn't detect a keyboard - only controller after setting change
under controller settings set "enable steam input"
game doesn't detect keyboard - changing the steam controller settings allows the use of a controller
without "enable steam input" the game doesn't detect a controller
No issues using proton experimental. Was able to play flawlessly from start to finish. Also did a lot of side activities with no issue.
no issues - no tinkering - works perfectly fine out of the box
Game starts but the screen stays white. You can see a cursor, hear music and interact with the menu.
force_compat_shaders=true
Didn't experience a single issue.
Works just as good as on Windows. No adjustments needed on the current experimental build.
Game won't even launch without physx installed. After that just skip the intro with spacebar and play the game.
Installed: amstream devenum quartz d3dx9 d3dcompiler_43 wmp9 physx
You have to spam spacebar to skip the intro cutscene. The game will crash otherwise. After that it runs fine.
Works perfectly fine. No issues whatsoever with the current experimental proton build.
Without Media Foundation DLL the game crashes before the main menu. Either install it or replace the intro cutscene file with another one - Like the one from Yakuza 3. After this the game will start without issue. located at data/mvuen/advertise.usm
The game is playable with Proton. It's disappointing that you have to do some more work here but it isn't a lot of work.
Replaced the intro cutscene with the one from Yakuza 3 - Otherwise the game doesn't get to the main menu. Also had to replace the cutscenes in /steamapps/common/Yakuza 5/main/data/mvstm/ once i reached the end of Part2 (Saejima) in order to continue the story. Without that fix the game freezes after leaving the sewers making it impossible to continue.
You can Alt-Tab but going back into the game greatly reduces the resolution. This can only get fixed with a restart.
If you play the fishing minigame and end up fishing a turtle the game will freeze - Forcing you to reload the last savegame.
