Works on default proton OOTB
- Lowered graphics to medium settings
- 30 FPS Limit

Works as long you remember to downgrade proton

game crashes when I was trying to launch on newer proton versions, works olny with proton 7

Sometimes the game causes stuttering, forcing the user to restart the game, but it runs fine for the majority of time.
Played with Proton Experimental, but also works fine with stable Proton version. Managed to beat the game without major issues.

Game works perfectly fine out of the box, but with only one issue relaed to deleting saves.
Deleting save data in-game on a Steam Deck doesn't work. Tried checking the save data location (.local > Steam > steamapps > compatdata > 1235140 > pfx), and nothing shows up that would help. No real solution has been discovered, either.

Used to always crash at the same cutscene on Windows but works flawlessly on Linux

Had to change install location
I was unable to play the game when it was installed to the default Steam library location (~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common
). I would only see a black screen when the game booted. I moved the installation to a new Steam library at /opt/steam
and have not had any issues running the game since.

Works out of the box
No special treatment needed, played the entire campaign with no issues at all.

Game works Out of the Box!
Game is stable, runs smoothly, playing on Ultra Settings (60 FPS) without any issues. Great experience!

Work out of the box

as of current proton version game runs perfectly fine outside some issues with visual bugs, using experimental might help on that.
mostly ambient occlusion not working correctly as it should, so i turned that off since it was doing nothing.

All perfectly works on Linux. Thanks Proton !
Runs perfectly out of the box.

Will not run
Idk if it's my computer or the game. But I've tried multiple ways to start the game and it won't start at all. But, System76 computers seem to have a lot of issues with playing compatible games. I've never had such a hard time gaming on Linux until I bought a System76.
Works perfectly fine

Ran perfectly with standard Proton settings (using latest). I didn't notice any issues with Graphics/Audio or control.

Resolution set to 1152x720; turned FSR on steam and set to 3 sharpness. Render resolution at 80%. Locked at 45fps/90hz, 12w TDP. A little over 3 hours of smooth gameplay on my OLED at 60% brightness.
Every text is small, but readable.
Some fps dips in populated areas, on the high 30s.
Pretty much playable OOTB. May improve battery life by adjusting in-game and steam parameters, with a little bit of graphical compromise, but definitely not a dealbreaker.

The game works fine with the default settings, locked @30fps, but since for some reason steam uses Proton 6.3 as default, upgrading it to Proton 8 (or even better GE-Proton 8) yields a much more stable FPS. With Proton 6, in the initial zone it's hard to have a stable 30fps when walking in the streets, but with GE i got locked 30

Game running perfectly apart from some slowdown when loading cutscenes, but I can't confirm that this is unique to running it on linux
GOG game, running via heroic launcher

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll=n,b" gamemoderun gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -r 120 -o 30 -- %command%
With gamescope, fullscreen still ate my mouse clicks and keypresses after alt+tabbing
Better framerates with gamescope, but would be acceptable without (probably at a lower resolution)
Also with gamescope, alt+f4 would not end all the Wine processes and the game would not relaunch without killing them manually or rebooting. Exiting normally via the slower return-to-title-then-exit worked fine though.
Can be modded, that's what my WINEDLLOVERRIDES launch option does (I just modded out the startup splash screens), but it's a bit complicated to get the mod going in the prefix, in a pure Linux setup.

Tested the GOG version installed through Lutris. No changes to the settings were necessary but changing the Wine version to GE-Proton did give a slight performance increase

gamemoderun gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -f -r 60 -o 30 %command%
The game should probably also run well without the specified launch options. The specified launch options are just what I generally use for all my games on Wayland.

The game runs great. It requires an internet connection to play. People say that you just need to play it for a bit with internet so the anti-cheat to phone home, then it just need to re-authenticate every once in a while but I've not once gotten it to work offline. I know it says 6 minutes on my play time but for some reason that's inaccurate I've spent a few hours.
Just works and is playable on 720p and lowest settings. Real Yakuza play with a controller and that also works well

With CryoUtilities, runs at 60fps 720p or 30fps 1080p. Otherwise, runs at around 40fps at 720p, so put on a framerate limiter for 40hz. Performance aside, it runs perfect with no bugs or problems.

Plays wonderfully as if native
