Works perfectly by doing what Macabee said below : "If game doesn't work, try this, make sure steam settings proton is 4.11. It may need to restart. Delete game then Install the game. Run once and it will crash. Good! Go to terminal and enter "protontricks 105450 mfc42 winxp l3codecx corefonts" Let it finish. Start game. It might crash again when changing video but restart again."
Runs almost perfectly out of the box. Minor fps issues.
Minor framerate hiccups that aren't there when I play Anno 2070.
Update : I was not able to install the Deep Ocean expansion. Installing it through Steam completely removes all text (???), and if I try to install it through the ingame menu, the loop bug happens. Can't escape the loop bug by downloading the offline patcher either, I have to uninstall the expansion to be able to play the game. No problems with it otherwise.
Another, possibly final update : I was able to install the Deep Ocean expansion by downloading and running the autopatcher on my windows partition, then letting it install the expansion, quitting the game, and then copying the entirerity of the Windows Anno 2070 folder onto the game folder I had on Manjaro. Pretty much runs flawlessly now, the expansion is indeed installed.
Worked perfectly out of the box. I didn't experience the black bar bug. I'm using Eggroll's latest release.

GloriousEggroll
Crashes midway through the intro cutscene, and then midway through the bus ride.
Didn't work with Proton-5.9-GE-6-ST, somehow fully works with Proton-5.9-GE-7-ST.
Multiple GE releases and basic Proton releases
Microstuttering when changing directions on some tries
The native version works perfectly, but it doesn't detect my Dualsense controller. The Proton version with the default renderer detects my controller, but half the screen is mirrored diagonally for some reason, making it unplayable. Proton + the OpenGL legacy option makes the game work and makes it detect my controller, but unfortunately there's a microstutter when the character changes directions from left to right and vice versa, making it unplayable for me.
Some crackling with Proton 5.
The game doesn't support key rebinding. As the owner of an AZERTY keyboard, I had to switch the layout to QWERTY in the system settings.
Works perfectly, just had to download MF-install as covered in the previous reports. However, I'm a complete beginner when it comes to linux, and I was a bit confused on the installation process itself. Here's how I did it, step by step. This assumes you've already got Wine, but since you're on ProtonDB, I'm guessing you already do.
Go there https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install , click on the green "code" button then "download ZIP"
Extract the archive's content wherever you want, I did it on my desktop for ease of use
Copy and paste the following in your terminal:
WINEPREFIX="/home/myuser/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/606880/pfx" ./mf-install.sh
Replace "myuser" with whatever you named yourself after when you installed your partition, and ./mf-install.sh with the exact path you extracted the aforementioned archive to. Mine was /home/dust/Desktop/mf-install-master/mf-install.sh. Hit "enter".
Done. If everything goes right, the terminal should be displaying a bunch of "Operation done successfully" or some variation.
Return to Steam. Go in the game's properties, click on "set launch options", then input taskset -c 0-15
All done. Enjoy Greedfall.
Halo 3 ODST doesn't work. Wine gives me a "Fatal error" prompt, then exits the MCC.
I was able to make it past the warning screens, then I got a black screen with music playing in the background.
Can run it flawlessly now. Once you get to the black screen, just press enter a bunch of times until it gets to the main menu.
Missing texture error, won't boot to menu. Black screen shows instead.
Tested on the latest GE version, Proton experimental, 6.3-5, 5.13-6, 4.11-13
The game freezes immediately after the advisor is done telling you about bugs, a minute or two into a new game.
Tested on the latest GE release and Proton 6.3-4.
Able to make it to gameplay, upon which I am greeted with a black screen, with the UI laid on top.
Seems functional, as far as I can tell, but I can't see what I'm doing.
Couldn't keep playing after the Ritual scene due to a black screen that wouldn't go away.
Proton-6.10-GE-1
DualSense controller not detected
If you own a Dualshock 4 or DualSense controller, chances are your controller won't be detected out of the box. In that case, download the latest GloriousEggroll release and install it, then disable Steam Input for No More Heroes. Should work then.
Works perfectly out of the box. Don't think I've encountered artifacts or audio bugs, although you never know with PK.
Works out of the box at release. Temps can run pretty high for some reason though, despite the game looking like it does.
Combat audio is missing on the native runtime version. Every sound plays except the sounds of gunshot, sword hits, etc.
Stutters and slowdowns compared to the native runtime version.
Game will freeze indefinitely after the gender selection screen and the video is finished playing. Unplayable on Linux for the time being, i
Also used GE-Proton7-49
Videos and main menu are blank
Unregistered button presses on Dualsense at times
Game will freeze indefinitely after the gender selection screen and the video is finished playing. Unplayable on Linux for the time being, in my opinion.
Works perfectly out of the box, aside from the usual hiccups resulting of shaders loading.
Wouldn't launch until after I applied the protontrick fixes. Works after that. DS4 works as well.
protontricks 758330 -q dotnet462 protontricks 758330 -q faudio
Used GE custom.
Works OOB. The only problem is the shader compilation stuttering, which isn't caused by Linux at all, and is a well-known UE problem.
Origin installed without any problems. Was able to view cutscenes and run the tutorial 3/4 times after which I ended the session.
Couldn't go into windowed mode without a MAJOR constant framerate drop.
Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST GloriousEggroll
Basically, a rave party.
Works perfectly except for one thing : do NOT turn on the "Reflections" setting in the display menu. If you want to do it anyway, don't do it at night. I'm not responsible for any damage done to your eyesight.
Here's how it looks ingame, with it off and then on: https://imgur.com/a/iSFQdkW
Aside from the typical problem of the videos not playing, no problems to report.
Don't play it with the lastest GloriousEggroll release, the game will indefinitely hang up upon viewing the tutorial videos.
