Runs great OOB after the recent big patch. Only had one random crash during Shinobu's stage that never repeated. Fun to platinum.

Issues with AMD 7000 series cards
Due to the games poor port you will get blue scan lines with 7000 series cards. Also, turn down the volume before launching the game as audio WILL peak often with default settings.

Game runs fine
Some minor crackling audio issues but maybe is the port?

Port is known to be garbage, but I completed the whole game on the Steam Deck without issue. Didn't ever crash on me.

The game runs perfectly on Linux and Steam Deck via Proton. Unfortunately the PC port is not in good shape and most bugs happening on Windows will happen on Linux, too.
Luckily frequent game crashing that is reported in Steam forums does not happen with Proton. It did only happened once to me in a playthorugh (see notes below).
Some tips (due to bugs happening on the PC version):
- When playing with headphones turn down the sound effects volume. Else you will hear crackling audio effects when fighting. They are wierdly overamplified by default. On Speakers you will probably not notice it.
- When beating a boss don't skip the leaderboard animation. The game can freeze when skipped and you have to do the boss fight again.
- Some achievements will not unlock, because they are not programmed correctly.

May crash every 4+ hours of playtime in a row.
If you are playing with multiple controllers the game may not respond to any of them. Had to change the deck to mouse only to play with an external controller. Even then changing the controller order from 1 to 2 back to 1 was necesary to get response from the external controller.
Overall I would assume the only reason the game is listed as unsupported is the strange interaction with external controllers. Cloud saves are seamless, I was able to play through part of the game on my pc and then open it on my deck to the same save. Otherwise the only issue is that there's no disclaimer about the online requirement for launching the game. If you do want to take this on the go be sure to have a wifi connection near by or a mobile hotspot when you launch the game.
Crackling occurred during the first boss of the game, not experienced afterward however.
Tabbing out of fullscreen stopped me from being able to tab back in. The game runs better on full screen however, meaning you have to choose between having the game run poorly occasionally or losing your ability to multitask.
Game crashed after a cutscene on seperate occasions
This game runs pretty well on proton but I recommend launching the configuration tool first and setting the game to windowed mode at the very least.
Sometimes Travis' glasses don't show up on mirrors, but it's a very minor complaint
Seems to be fully working on my Steam Deck with no tinkering
Maybe time to update the status of this one?
Audio crackle with headphones. This happens mostly during combat. Doesn't happen in other games.
Shadow pop-in.
Slowdown when hitting many enemies with a finisher.
Occassionally had crackling in sound quality if using Speakers, unaffected if using headphones.
Game ran extremely well, actually plays better on the Steam Deck than it does on my main rig. Title has some issues with crackling noise if using the Deck's Speaker, I strongly recommend playing this title only with headphones if at all possible, or low volume to avoid potential damage to speakers.
Ran perfectly out of the box with only the most minor of bugs.
Travis Touchdown's sunglasses are not visible in mirrors.

Runs Perfectly Out of the box
On Pop OS the top clock and menus are shown, but are gone if you use big picture

DualSense controller not detected
If you own a Dualshock 4 or DualSense controller, chances are your controller won't be detected out of the box. In that case, download the latest GloriousEggroll release and install it, then disable Steam Input for No More Heroes. Should work then.
