if on Steam Deck OLED screen : put the screen refresh rate to 60Hz for a smooth experience

I completed the game (version 1.3.155.3 (93e724) on the top left corner) on the Steam Deck exclusively and Steam puts the play time at 14.2 hours. I played a few times in docked mode but for the majority of the time it was in handheld mode. I would suggest going into the settings and putting on all of the "large" options.

Works out of the box
Nothing to notice here, enjoy just the game :)

I needed to use the latest GE-Proton9-4 to get this to run. Using native, or any other proton version (including experimental) it would freeze at the first loading screen and not recover. Worked straight away with no issues with GE-Proton9-4 thankfully.

Native version doesn't recognize both controllers. Using Proton it would detect both controllers.
Using proton it usually crashed when loading into a new scene (completing dungeon etc.) Extremely frustrating as it would lose the just completed game progress. Wouldn't have been a major issue if it would save the game just before loading the new scene.
Couldn't play local co-op in native linux due to controller detection issue. Couldn't play with Proton either because of the occasional crashes that would lose some of the game progress.
Playing alone or with online co-op would probably work in native linux, wasn't an option for me because I would only play this game local co-op.

If you want to play coop and/or see the steamoverlay you have to use borderless/windowed mode. fullscreen crashes the game native and with proton.
Game crash when open up steam overlay, also to invite in coop
Works out of box, native version.
Lags from the host (but could be caused by the internet on their side)
Works perfectly out of the box
when you resize the resolution: the "shader", does not match the object itself
Works perfectly out of the box.
Online coop works perfect.
Just works.
Text for items is hard to read. Doable and hardly obligated to play, but noticeable
Worked flawlessly, and performed much better than the native version. Steam controller worked without issues.
Opening video (and possibly others) won't play in default Proton or Proton Experimental, must use GE
Works out of the box. If sound doesn't work it might just be muted in the system.
Initially the game was muted in the systems sound manager
Runs perfectly without any customization needed.

Followed instructions here: https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install

Proton-5.8-GE-2-MF GloriousEggroll
Using Glorious Eggroll proton version Proton-5.8-GE-2-MF https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases

Access to menu, no more
Nothing happens after launching a game via the menu. I tried using the mf tweak, but it didn't change anything.
Launch options: taskset -c 0-4 %command%
This was surprisingly difficult to get working considering the previous positive reports.
- mf-install NOT mf-installcab was needed
- Due to the issue described in https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install/issues/44, needed to use these launch options:
taskset -c 0-4 %command%
- For the 3960x which has a lot of cores e.g.
taskset -c 0-8 %command%
as recommended in that GitHub issue won't work

Resolution is off and mouse won't work
I ran the game on my external display, but it picked up the resolution of my smaller laptop display, and covered most of the screen in black while the game was a small portion of it.
Turning off the laptop screen partially fixed it, but the game was renderd in a square in the middle of the screen, rather than being widescreen.
Clicking on the menu doesn't work at all. Clicking on the far left of the screen makes some of the menu buttons react, so it looks like the game has bugs mapping mouse clicks to positions.
Installing mf-install
changed nothing.
some attention needed installing the Media Foundation, the bug with the gamepad is disappointing, but aside that the game is enjoyable
I tried first with the "mf-installcab" as suggested in many posts, but it didn't worked at all.
then i looked at the other posts and saw another installer, the https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install and it worked.
i tried using a Logitec Gamepad F310 but the game crash as soon as i press a button on the gamepad!
as noted above, trying to use a gamepad crash the game, with mouse and keyboard no problem at all.
Easy Instructions for Linux Noobs
First off, run Children of Morta, so it can create the files needed. Once you run it once and make a new profile in-game, you can close it.
Click this link: https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-installcab
Click the green "download or clone" button and download the files.
Extract the files in your downloads folder, go into the newly extracted folder. Right click inside your newly extract folder and click "Open in Terminal"
Now, you're newly extracted folder AKA "mf-install-master" will be open in terminal, simply paste the command below in the terminal and press "Enter" on your keyboard.
PASTE THIS ---> WINEPREFIX=/home/USERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/330020/pfx ./mf-install.sh
Note: "USERNAME" is whatever you named your PC when you installed Linux. Replace it with your username.

Worked with https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install WINEPREFIX=<path/to/games/pfx> mf-install.sh
I tried initially using protontricks mf install and that didn't work. I then tried mf-installcab and wasn't able to make that work either. running the actual mf-install script from github was the only thing that worked for me
Se ejecuta perfectamente con Proton 5.

Having downloaded the script from https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-installcab I unzipped it and ran WINEPREFIX=/home/william/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/330020/pfx ./mf-install.sh from script's folder.

Game runs fine after mf-install. No bugs or glitches detected during the first 30 minutes of gameplay.
After mf-install the game runs perfectly fine even with the latest version of wine 5.0
