Resolution is off and mouse won't work
I ran the game on my external display, but it picked up the resolution of my smaller laptop display, and covered most of the screen in black while the game was a small portion of it.
Turning off the laptop screen partially fixed it, but the game was renderd in a square in the middle of the screen, rather than being widescreen.
Clicking on the menu doesn't work at all. Clicking on the far left of the screen makes some of the menu buttons react, so it looks like the game has bugs mapping mouse clicks to positions.
Installing mf-install
changed nothing.
It's terrible in pretty much all aspects. Don't bother.
The mouse doesn't behave normally, it has some inertia that makes aiming where I want to click incredible hard.
Also, looks like there's not widescreen support, I just a black bar on the LEFT side (at 3440x1440). The content isn't even centred, but right-aligned.
Touching the right edge of the screen does not scroll right. Other directions work. Scrolling left required that I move the mouse PAST the empty black space on the left.
The resolution picker is just empty regardless of the game being windowed, fullscreened or "fullscreen window".

Needed to tweak display output so that it was 0x0 or input wouldn't work.
Click don't work unless you're running in a display which is positioned at location 0x0

It depends a lot on details of your setup. If you just have a single display, it's likely to work fine, otherwise, it needs minor tinkering.
Playing on StreamDeck with a PS4 controller, the game shows input mapping for some other controller
I played on a SteamDeck connected to a TV while using a PS4 controller.
With Steam Input, the game shows mappings for the wrong controller.
Without Steam Input, the game does not detect the controller at all.

Trying to switch the game window itself from fullscreen to non-fullscreen resulted in all mouse events having an offset of a few pixels. I tried switching the game to Windowed mode via the game menu, but initially had the same issue. However, fullscreening that window and un-fullscreenining it back fixed it.
It seems the game won't correctly handle being fullscreen externally (e.g.: by a global hotkey); it's best if you limit yourself to only doing this via the in-game menu.
Initially, the launcher would render only a black window, and nothing else. I noticed that moving it off-screen and back again, it would have updated content, but remained frozen.
As a coincidence, I noticed that when moved onto the edge of the screen, parts near the edge would render, and would respond to input events, whereas other parts didn't.
This made it obvious that the game was doing something funny with window positioning. I've a dual screen setup, with on screen on the top-right of the other, so neither of them are at the 0x0 coordinates. The launcher assumes youre monitor is in the upper-left positiong, and won't render or react to events otherwise. I've no idea if this is a wine issue, an xwayland issue, or an eve-launcher issue, but changing the position of my monitor fixed it.
After that, I had to copy over the file as mentioned in other posts. I'm using Flatpak, so the base path varies a little:
cd .var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/
cd .local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Eve\ Online/SharedCache/
cp tq/bin64/eve_client_launchdarkly_client.pyd tq/
chmod 400 tq/eve_client_launchdarkly_client.pyd
Performance wasn't great, but that's because I'm testing on a laptop with a GPU that's way below requirements.
Did a whole playthrough with no issues.
Controls show button names that don't match the naming scheme on the Steam Deck.
The mouse will sometimes move around abruptly when opening in-game menus. I quickly switched desktop and back and it gets fixed instantly. Happens constantly.
Played a bunch of the game slightly over ten hours. Zero issues.
Works perfectly, without any issues at all. Note that the PTR branch must be used (as described by upstream).
