Proton-5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
used Proton-5.21-GE-1 on suggestion by many for the media foundation and various fixes
some attention needed installing the Media Foundation, the bug with the gamepad is disappointing, but aside that the game is enjoyable
I tried first with the "mf-installcab" as suggested in many posts, but it didn't worked at all.
then i looked at the other posts and saw another installer, the https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install and it worked.
i tried using a Logitec Gamepad F310 but the game crash as soon as i press a button on the gamepad!
as noted above, trying to use a gamepad crash the game, with mouse and keyboard no problem at all.
tried both separately and together with no success
tried various proton version with no success: Default, 5.0-7, 4.11-13
crashes every few minutes, four/five minutes at most, less than one at the worst! unplayable
it die every few minutes
with the standard proton no videos/story animation, it's still playable, and work quite well, but i suppose it's quite less enjoyable.
Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST
Initially I have tried with the standard proton, and all the videos/story animation were simply black screen skipped hitting Esc.
the game was still playable, and most of it work quite well, but i suppose without fix it's quite less enjoyable.
from previous experience with the game with Lutris/Epic store i know that it required "media foundation" but I was too tired to install it, so I tried a custom proton that i had already installed that should have some support for mf, and it worked flawlessly!
good experience except for a bit of recurring mouse problems, easily solved
there seem some audio degradation, a bit disturbing but not much
played only on full screen. at every mission start the mouse y axis was dramatically sensitive, quite unplayable, but after alt-tabbing out and in the application it return to normal and is good until after the end of the mission, the in the end cartoon the mouse became irresponsive and i need another alt-tab to restore functionality to the next mission start.
a bit bothering but perfectly playable once found the remedy
