Modding works fine, you can either use the native linux mod manager or ModAssistant with wine (much better imo), instructions for both can be found on the modding wiki
works flawlessly
The only issues that I've experienced are with SteamVR
No issues with modding, Beat Saber Mod Manager (very similar to Mod Assistant) is by far the best mod manager I know of that natively supports Linux (alternatives are Mod Assistant (with wine, was a pain to get working, instructions here) and Beataroni (few features, poor GUI)), installing mods manually is always an option as well
Discord invites do not work by default, but wine discord IPC bridge fixed it
alt-tabbing while in fullscreen immediately re-focuses the game
capping framerate low enough that it doesn't dip helps, but still not as good as windows
Mods work fine from mod.io, importing mod configs from windows also works
/path/to/wine-discord-ipc-bridge/winediscordipcbridge-steam.sh %command%
inconsistently need to exit fullscreen to alt-tab
rare crashes, may or may not be caused by proton, but the game's crash log did not generate
Discord invites did not work by default, but was easily resolved by using wine discord ipc bridge (only difference between using it on windows is that the game cannot be launched with invites as the game is not detected unless running)
After about 10hr on the native version, I suddenly started experiencing major input lag (~1-2s), while the game was running, the rest of my system was also laggy, Switching to proton fixed this.
Using a system keybind while in an in-game menu occasionally prevented leaving that menu by any means and required a restart, I noticed this mostly (if not exclusively, I don't remember) happening with KRunner, so I rebound it from alt+space and haven't had the issue since. This would have been rather annoying if it had occurred during the Pantheon of Hallownest (late-game challenge without saving that takes a while to complete). I did not notice this prior to switching to proton, so if native works for you, stick with that (although I did not play with native for long, so it may still exist there).
~40fps constantly, I get 60fps on windows (game is capped at 60)
crashed when joining a lobby, or friend joining my lobby
used steam remote play
crash or broken graphics with proton 7.0-6, 6.3-8, and GE7-55, I did not try any launch options to resolve these
