camera snaps to the ground after closing a menu if you moved your cursor earlier
You need to set "Play Bright Memory Infinite" in the launch options, otherwise launching the game using a steam shortcut will cause it to crash every time before the main menu even appears,.
changed config.ini to display the hidden graphics settings
heavy artifacts causing crashes in the campagign
Shadows are the most GPU intensive settings, setting from extrra to medium granted me 30 FPS and less stutter, wtf
campagin is impossible to complete cause it crashes at some point in the second level
overpriced zombies game
Won't launch since i upgraded my GPU from Nvidia to AMD (RX 6700XT)
The problem seems to be common on protondb, others with similar GPUs reported the same issue
works but avoid mods on optimus laptops, also the native mod menu is bugged, if you plan to use mods you have to use proton anyway
when runing with mods on NVIDIA/X11 (optimus laptop) , the game either crashes or simply doesn't load and CTD, works fine without mods
as always we can thank nvidia for making the linux experience awful on laptops
mods are impossible to install, dotnet20 don't install with protontricks and nothing works
can't install dotnet20
avoid it unless you want to play vanilla
Won't launch at all
Immediately crashes with error on my laptop
launched the game with Proton 5.13-6 to launch the game, also generating the config
Edited steamapps/compatdata/704270/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Avalanche Studios/GenerationZero/Saves/settings/[USERID-HERE]/settings.json then changed "DisplayDxAdapter" value from -1 to 0, also switched back to experimental after that
when switching to borderless with experimental, the game did a black screen, forcing to restart it
bad performance but no lag/stutter
Don't waste your time, the game's not worth it
unplayable due to low FPS on deck + stutter on PC : frequent FPS drops, stuttering as well
-use-d3d11
every single setting on low/off + switched to dx11 to reduce stuttering
the game optimization is basically non existent, barely reaching 35FPS on the ship.
the game crashes for no reason mid game
tons of bugs, might be not related to proton itself but rather how poorly coded the game is.
most of the complains here seem to the related to AMD hardware, the game apprently runs better on NVIDIA GPUs.
mangohud %command%
the game won't launch without this argument : `bash -c 'exec "${@/%"PDLauncher/LauncherPatcher.exe"/KSP2_x64.exe}"' -- %command%`
bash -c 'exec "${@/%"PDLauncher/LauncherPatcher.exe"/KSP2_x64.exe}"' -- %command% -popupwindow
borderless doesn't work, it's exactly ther same as fullscreen, to get true borderless on linux you need to use the -popupwindow
cli arg and set the game to windowed
tinkering is REQUIRED if you want to play this game
Good game
The devs actively support Linux, the game works very well OOTB
"Could not locate game executable entry in the catalogue (Shatterline.exe)" Error code: ERROR-10-10
Update R73 broke Proton compatibility Tried with Proton Exp,7,6,GE,HotFix
Installing the game on another partition can cause EAC to not detect the game's executable, preventing access to the game's menu
some games start with no audio (not sure if it's proton related)
sometimes the game flashes red for a few ms
the game often freeze, soft lock and crash
the game will NOT launch if it's not installed on steam's main library, installing the game on another partition prevents EAC from detecting the game
game loading sometimes stops at ~50%, forcing to restart
in it's current form the game is highly unstable on Proton 7, running it with Proton 8 doesn't work, GE could be a solution those willing to play the game on Linux Desktop (AT THE MOMENT) should try in a VM with GPU passthrough
works ootb
it was probably extremely difficult for the devs to check a box and enable EAC on Proton
-dx11
crashes if voice chat is turned on adding -dx11 seems to make the game more stable and stop crashes
-dx11
lighting issues, but could also be bugs since some Windows users reported tthe same problem
Performance is very bad but it seems unrelated to Proton according to the steam forums
using DX12 causes crashed and freezes, -dx11 solves that but the game still crashes on long sessions
The game is filled with bugs but they don't seem limited to Proton, some of them are minor and could be proton-related but i cannot confirm that
The game needs a LOT of patches to be stable in the first place, performance is awful in some maps/areas especially with destruction. the game is great but it's performance is so bad it's ridiculous. the only ones i've seen not complaining are using NVIDIA GPUs
Requires Proton Experimental, sometimes Proton Hotfix works better for the latest updates
some game updates requires to temporarily use Proton Experimental [bleeding edge]
laptops with iGPUs require an extra argument : DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super" (replace the GPU name with your own)
mangohud %command%
Setting effect quality above Medium causes massive lag spikes when turning the camera, as long as it stays on medium or below, there's no other issue.
Can't even open the launcher
Tried with Experimental, 7, 6, 5, GE 7 -> Only displays wine desktop and nothing happens, also consumes a ton of performance and made my computer lag
awful performance
