Depending on how much you care about the audio issues (which are fixable) the game runs great
No audio in the cutscenes the fix was a combination of using Proton 6.3-6 (the version is what I missed when I first was trying to get it working) and this WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=b,n" %command% in the launch options
I had one bug, at the beginning of the second DLC episode, where none of the actual models loaded, it was just placholders. A reload of the checkpoint fixed it
The performance issues are really annoying and having to restart the game every once in a while to reclaim memory
Audio sink issues seem somewhat tied to the framerate issues,
Game's framerate behaves wildly. Every time I change the quality settings the framerate is halved. Entering the Lake of Nine also makes the framerate plummet
Memory leak seems to not have been fixed with the 1.0.2 patch, after an hour (or simply entering the lake of nine and Tyr's temple to access the bifrost) memory usage nears 90% with 16gb of RAM
I added these launch options to get DLSS to work, PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Adding dash to the back buttons make the encounters much easier as you can just concentrate on the attacks with your thumb
Weird stuttering during cutscenes (nothing major)
This is a minor thing with Feral's other linux ports as well I think. I wanted to stream this game with discord using Helvum to pipe the audio into the Discord mic, but everytime I ALT-tabbed the game's audio source would disapear, making my life a bit difficult
Sometimes when unpausing the game during a cutscene the audio will just cut out entirely
GE-Proton crashed at the end of pretty much every chapter. Steam's proton however refused to play any of the cutscenes so I had to switch between them. The ending was plagued with both issues. GE-Proton crashed after the first cutscene and refused to go on, and Steam's Proton failed to play the ending at all
The game is riddled with bugs, but non that are specific to Linux so I didn't add them here
This game doesn't suffer from any of the issues I experienced in the Life is Strange Remastered, which is nice
I own it through Epic Games, downloaded and lauched through Heroic Games Launcher
Worked flawlessly
There was some flickering of textures, usually posters or paintings on the wall
Crashed a couple of times, and there have been some occasional stuttering/freezing for multiple seconds
