The game will sometimes freeze on menus for 10-20 seconds but this will only happen once every play session.
Some cutscenes don't work but also don't crash the game at all and can be skipped without issue.
Everything besides certain story mode cutscenes works perfectly, the game will sometimes freeze on menus for 10-20 seconds but never in gameplay.
xna40 was installed via protontricks but I'm unsure if it was necessary
Main Menu music is missing
Your character's hands are black and the texture when destroying a block is missing
When running with Proton Experimental the FPS would fluctuate around 4~11fps. Running with GE-Proton9-5 would crash on launch after logos. Proton 8.0-5 fixed all of this for me.
The lack of proper EAC support from the developers makes playing ranked impossible and playing online in general annoying.
-eac-nop-loaded
Using steam://launch/678950/option1 to disable EAC, although there's a better way to do it.
You can play online but only with people who also have EAC disabled
A simple patch from the Devs would make this perfect but it's still playable if you're trying to just play with friends, although they need to disable EAC.
No working online might turn away some but 40fps SinglePlayer with mods is the perfect BT4 for me.

The game will masively slow down when playing under 60fps IF you don't use the Engine.ini fix. Once you apply the fix, playing with all graphic settings on low-med with 80~ resolution will get you 40fps~. Could get much higher if your willing to sacrifice visuals.
Sometimes when clicking on something in the menu, the game will softlock and require a restart. It's pretty uncommon from my experience tho.
The Launch Option is only needed for Mods and is completely useless otherwise.
2v8's UI can be difficult to read without increasing the size in settings
Resolution is super fucked on anything but windowed fullscreen
2v8 is a temporary mode but thought I'd include it because it may be permanently added in the future.
gldevice:Vulkan
It will crash when loading into a world without the Steam launch options, I never tested multiplayer but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Controls require massive tinkering to be enjoyable on the Steam Deck without a KB+M
Having a large amount of addons sometimes crashed the game, although I'm unsure if this was even a Proton issue and not just some outdated addon causing problems.
60+ fps everywhere on Medium Settings, Locked 60fps during gameplay sections on High Settings but drops into the 40s-50s during other sections (like the shop or campfire.)
Works perfectly and plays very nice using the Deck's trackpads. Worth noting that saves disappear anytime a update is released, this is a problem with the engine the game was developed in and has nothing to do with Linux or Proton.
The game doesn't seem to save changes made in settings for some reason
Resetting in training sometimes causes a slight lagspike
Game is poorly optimized but you can still get around 60fps in most areas
Worked fine but throwing the Roaming Sentry Bot on the Hall of Justice stage would always cause desyncs. Unsure if this is because of proton or not.
I'd recommend increasing your sensitivity if your playing on the Deck, slow controller motions will get you killed on the harder challenges.
Can load into menus and view cutscenes, but crashes the second any kind of gameplay starts
I personally couldn't get the game to even start in Gaming Mode but seemed to work perfectly in Desktop Mode until attempting to actually start any kind of gameplay, in which it instantly crashes.
Installed the Restitched Mod, but this isn't needed and is completely optional.
The game will ONLY boot in Desktop Mode, attempting to boot in Gaming Mode will result in infinite loading.
FPS tanks like crazy during combos, playing on lowest resolution seems to minimize the problem.
It feels good to finally say that KILL la KILL -IF works on the Steam Deck, with the caveat of it only booting in Desktop Mode with GE-Proton9-20, and having major performance issues.
"Is it even worth playing in this condition?" That depends entirely on you and what your looking to get out of it.
The games launcher will prevent the game from booting in Gaming Mode. This can be fixed by installing Bkacjios' Gaming Mode Patch. https://gist.github.com/bkacjios/649227c6691d2f49faaba871a11e351b
The performance problems from my previous report persist.
40~ fps for Kamurochō and Yokohama, rough 30~ fps with significant stuttering in Hawaii.
Proton 9.0-3 gets you past the shader issue, disabling upscaling lets you see the main menu background & cutscenes but gameplay + character creator still renders nothing. Attempting to play the game blind will eventually hard crash the Steam Deck.
40~ fps for the most part with minor stuttering during intense moments involving multiple hunters and monsters. Monsters like Teostra and Lunastra cause significant fps drops in the later parts of their fight but they seem to be the only exception. Mods require some tinkering to setup but work perfectly.
Everything seems to work perfectly but you'll be kicked out of any matches due to EAC

Turn Raytracing Reflections off -FPS runs at high 50s nearly everywhere including the first 2 blocks of Tartarus, high 40s in the Velvet Room on high settings -FPS runs at a nearly locked 60 on 75% scale including the first 2 blocks of Tartarus, high 50s in the Velvet Room.

Story cutscenes will be completely mute without the launch options and Proton Experimental

99% of mods on GameBanana work but strangely some specific mods like "Dojima's Coffee" will always crash. Only certain builds of P4G CEP kinda work, I'd recommend just downloading all the Mods individually.
Launch P4G at least once then use Protontricks to download the prerequisites needed for Reloaded II into the P4G prefix. Launch Reloaded II using Protontricks in P4G's prefix, click on P4G on the left, (click add application if it's not there), edit application, and set the path to P4G.exe. Go to Advanced Tools, enable auto inject, and click Deploy ASI Loader. Make sure you set the launch settings in Steam. If it's crashing try removing mods until you find the problem. Majority of them work, load order matters and one mod might be overwriting another if they aren't showing up.
Save randomly disappeared multiple times, may have been because I moved the downloaded location back and forth a lot.
The EA App can be quite jank at times.
All mods work perfectly without any tinkering, GShade/Reshade works with abit of work (although it does come at the cost of some performance), Both the EA DLC unlocker and Sims 4 Updater by Anadius are fully functioning and can be set up on a legit copy of Sims 4 being played on a Steam Deck, or so I'm told.
Game will say you need a update when launching, ignore it.
Requires a large amount of tinkering and 'Scene' and 'Video' wallpapers currently do not work, but everything else seems to work.
Installed and set up Wallpaper Engine KDE Plugin on Discover in Desktop mode
'Scene' and 'Video' wallpapers do not work currently
- konsole command: sudo steamos-readonly disable && sudo pacman-key --init && sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux
- Install Wallpaper Engine on Steam and "Wallpaper Engine KDE Plugin" on Discover
- konsole command: sudo pacman -Syy && sudo pacman -S qt5-declarative qt5-websockets qt5-webchannel python-websockets
- Restart Steam Deck
- Right Click anywhere on the Desktop, click "Configure Desktop and Wallpaper"
- Change the "Wallpaper Type" dropdown box to "Wallpaper Engine for KDE"
- Click "Library" then Right Click and click "Show Hidden Folders"
- Navigate to /home/deck/.local/share/Steam and click"'OK"
Any wallpaper downloaded from Wallpaper Engine itself or the Steam Workshop should appear, as mentioned before 'Scene' and 'Video' wallpapers currently do not work. The folder may be somewhere else if you didn't download Wallpaper Engine on the Internal Drive.
