gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -f -e -- mangohud %command%
run both these: protontricks 244210 msxml3 protontricks 244210 dotnet48
you have to go into the control options and create a config before the controller will work. Even then a keyboard and mouse in a necessity before you get into a race. Once you get into a race its fine.
first launch it with 5.0-10, it will crash, then do the protontricks commands, launch again with 5.0, then change to a newer version of proton, that worked for me
some stutters at the beginning of a match and in the spawn screen
Wouldnt install origin with default proton so i used bottles and it worked perfectly
gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -f -- mangohud %command%
I use gamescope on most games to solve an issue where one scroll will sometimes do 2 scrolls in game. this is not a problem specific to this game.
performance is good in the beginning but around the beginning of "interloper" it gets bad, then it gets better
occasional crashes throughout the game, just like performance, it gets worse, then better.
dont use native. I had a ton of lighing issues.
gamescope -f -e %command%
scrolling issues related to adjusting the scroll speed on wayland (fixed with gamescope)
i have not played around with mods that much but the few times I have played mod maps it has crashed
besides the RCE exploits in multiplayer, it works great
works great would be a 9/10 if activision would fix RCE exploit in multiplayer, they are selling this for full price still too.
Works pretty good, just use my launch option, I think protonGE is required, idk because I have not tried it in a while.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1
Windowing with this game can just be finnicky, otherwise it works
some mods REQUIRE the launch option provided. Without it these mods will crash on launch.
perfect now that they supposedly fixed the vulnerablities
overall pretty good
-vulkan
There were strange artifacts on the pause screen and there was a very consistent stutter but that was solved with -vulkan in the launch options. now it runs great
use beta code feraldirtsupport and use that beta, otherwise gives error code 127
use the
after setting up the beta then it works perfectly fine.
gamemoderun %command%
I get >100 fps on reasonably high settings, feels a bit lower than that maybe microstutters, occasionally normal stutters
impressive what proton can do
WINEFSYNC=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
runs slightly worse than on windows, just because i have to use dx 10
occasional crashes during loading screens, even after tweaks
change to directx 10 or you will have memory leak issues in online mode, it makes it run slightly worse but its well worth it.
overall good
starts in small window, hit shift f11 to fix
sometimes crashes when loading a new map, the game saves a lot so you never lose too much progress
Works basically flawlessly out of the box
ps5 controller touchpad clicks would not register, minor issue. I just ended up remapping the putton to the playstation button
havent played much but seems to work 100% out of the box on proton 7.0-1. i was able to join a multiplayer game throught the browser despite EAC
works great
Native worked perfectly but the gallary is broken. If you want to see how other players completed the level then you should switch to the proton version like I did.
PROTON_HEAP_DELAY_FREE=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 gamemoderun %command% -height 1080 -width 1920 -fullscreen -high -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -cpuLoadRebalancing
works good. >60 fps on my setup
gamemoderun gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -f -- mangohud %command%
These launch options simulate how it is run on the steamdeck basically. I had it crash once in 12 hours of gameplay, since it only happened once im assuming that it has nothing to due with linux. On my hardware i can run max settings and get 90 fps that vast majority of the time, also this game looks beautiful. There is some slight stutter while loading in areas, this usually only happens in elevators and in the space ship.
gamemoderun gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -f -- mangohud %command%
theres a strange pixelation on some of the vegetations, especially the wookie planet. its pretty minor though.
these launch options are 100% optional, worked perfectly without them, I just prefer the way gamescope windowing works over native.
mangohud %command%
I have not played long enough to determine whether this game will be stable. But from my 15 minutes of walking around near the spawn it seems pretty good, im able to get 70 fps on tweaked high settings with my specs.
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
installed dxvk through protontricks (might not have made any difference)
some games it drops to 4 fps
multiplayer is great when its running fine
couldnt join multiplayer until i used this eac fix: https://squadfm.org/#installation-linux-only
some games it runs better than windows, some games it runs just like windows, but most games it runs 1/2 as good as windows, and others it runs at 5fps. pretty random. with the same config.
Theres an issue where you may be unable to select your audio input device. In order to solve this you must go into the games compatdata folder and go to users/steamuser/appdata/local/SquadGame/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor and open Engine.ini and Game.ini in which you must delete everything after the "=" on the "AudioInputDevice" and "AudioDevice" options. When you relaunch you will still not be able to chose an input device but the mic should work, at least it did for me.
mic didnt show up, fix detailed else where. I dont thing this issue will happen on first install, but only when your audio hardware is changed. I could be wrong tho.
Performance is generally not quite as good as windows, falujah ran particularly bad for me
This is classified as tinker just because i went with proton GE off the bat but it probably works perfectly with normal proton. runs great.
Works great, dont forget settings.
after i tab back in sometimes i have to unplug and plug my controller back in for it to work.
Dont forget to launch the games settings, I was wondering why the graphics were so bad before I saw the option at launch.
