Worked well out of the box. Played the whole game as if I was on Windows.
Minor issue: Sometimes the process would hang when exiting the game, so I had to manually kill the process myself. Not a big deal but a bit annoying.
Ubisoft Launcher works but game crashes on the first loading screen
I saw a lot of people having issues with the launcher but for me it worked fine, the game just doesn't get past the first loading screen. I switched proton versions around but nothing worked and I couldn't be bothered to test further.

Crash on first loading screen, but only sometimes
I have no idea how to make this game start up reliably, it's always a coin toss whether it hangs in the first loading screen or makes it to the main menu. If it actually does then it plays without any problems, if it doesn't then I have to stop the game via Steam and try launching it again until it works.
Switching to Proton Experimental or not doesn't seem to matter, I've had it work without it a few times too. Launch options have not helped either.
Played though the whole game's story on Linux with only minor graphical issues. The game plays really well, worth giving it a shot.
The ground would sometimes glitch and create weird lines, it would happen most often when leaving a stable. It's not that big of an issue but it never happened when I played on Windows.
Experienced a few crashes in the castle gardens when playing as Leon and also Ada. Still completed the game just fine.
Works great out of the box.
For those that want to use the Committee of Zero patch to fix issues with the Steam release, there is a script and instructions on how to do so here: https://github.com/CommitteeOfZero/polyversal-coz-linux-patcher. It's perfectly playable with the patch as well!
Some minor stuttering.
I tried running it out of the box and it failed to detect my hardware, popping up a box saying that my system is too weak to run the program. I switched to Proton Experimental and the message went away. Otherwise, it runs pretty well.
Doesn't launch even after messing with launch options
Game runs fine after tweaks, but the mouse being inaccurate really affects the gameplay experience. I didn't play for very long due to this.
Had to add '/windowed 1024 758' launch flag to get to the main menu
Mouse is fine in the menus and HUD, but moving and selecting units/buildings is inaccurate.
In game menus are sluggish, actual gameplay is fine.
Crashed a few times, but not often enough to be an issue.
Only played single player mode.
