Runs as well on Linux as on windows.
Some hitches and stutters here and there - but that's launch-day jank, not Linux. Windows users report the same stutters, or worse. It's absolutely playable, and runs buttery-smooth between the periodic hitches. I don't find it frustrating or problematic, I'm having a great time. For this to work so well on launch day is a Proton success story.

Switching to GE, experimental, etc. all didn't fix it or made it instantly crash
Very occasional stutters, but probably due to how demanding the game is. Plenty playable, no complaints.

Input has started dropping on rare occasion since last review
Has a habit of deleting the save game after updates
Performance has degraded significantly since my last review. Extremely unstable FPS.
Performs terribly on even a powerful PC, and the resolution options don't include any standard options above 1080p on my machine. Very shoddy experience, and the devs are impossible to get a response from about any issues.

the below steps have to be performed in order:
- set proton version to 3.16-9
- ran the game once to create the folders
- ran "protontricks --no-background-wineserver 1202540 wmp9" in terminal
- the videos now work
Without the video fix, you will miss many plot-essential videos in the course of the game, without it even indicating they should have played, so you won't know you missed anything, and will become confused. It's absolutely essential to get the videos working before playing.
You will know the videos are broken if the title screen is blacked out - it should be a bright white title screen with a faint drifting pattern of outer space. If you see that, the videos work.

OP video plays glitched out and ugly visuals, but audio is intact. Can just watch it on YouTube and then return to the game. Tinkering, GE, etc. do not appear to fix it at this time.
Aside from the glitchy OP video, no problems.

The first ~20 mins in the intro/tutorial have some minor stutters, after which it clears up.

stock settings, works great. played the whole game end to end with no tinkering or instability.

I cannot speak to the use of real drone control radios etc., I've only played with a gamepad - but for me, it's flawless with no tweaks.

Used to be a mess a few proton generations ago, but has since cleared up and runs fine with no tweaks.

Delete all DLLs in the root directory except "steam-api.dll", and use the launch option. No need to mess with protontricks, at least for me. Works perfectly with these changes.
Runs fine OOTB no tinkering
Oh god, this game is so bad. It works fine but it's so, so bad. Easily the worst game in the Yakuza series. If you're gonna make yourself play it to continue the story like I did, I warned you. Pain.
