Crashes with "Bad serial number given in Setup". Note that this game also has a native Linux version, sold separately.
Crashes with "Can't find ARMA 2: OA serial number in registry. Please install ARMA 2: OA and the re-run BAF setup again"
Only works with BattlEye disabled, and throws an error about a missing license in the registry, and has fairly low performance, BUT the game does launch for me.
Fails to start with "Can't find ARMA 2: OA serial number in registry. Please install ARMA 2: OA and the re-run PMC setup again"
Fails to start with "(missing executable)" of "steamapps/common/Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead/ArmA2OA_BE.exe"
Works even better than on Windows due to Steam's compositor which treats fullscreen as borderless window. Army Men RTS also runs on regular Wine (1.7.38 or higher), but then it doesn't have the Steam compositor for fullscreen.

Just launched without tweaks and it works great. No noticeable issues. Also, it runs better than in regular Wine due to the compositor as it's easier to alt+tab out of the game. Note: I highly recommend disabling mouse acceleration in the settings, since the default acceleration curve is insane.
There are some problems with "Z-fighting" glitchy textures that don't exist on Windows. Game is very playable though.
The "Crazy Machines 1.5" entry fails to launch due to a missing executable. However, the separate "DLC" entries work fine. Just like Crazy Machines 1.0, there are some problems with "Z-fighting" glitchy textures that don't exist on Windows. Game is very playable though. Marking as Bronze because 1 out of 3 entries in Steam don't even launch.
There's no sound at all, unfortunately. That definitely makes it less comfortable to play.

Opens to a really slow intro, that eventually just stops. Clicking or pressing certain keys will reset the audio track, but the game is unplayable.
A launcher appears with messed up fonts, and has options to launch in VR or non-VR mode. Either option fails with the message "The method or operation is not implemented".
The game has several issues that impact normal play. First I installed Protontricks and used that to install dotnet40 and vcrun2015 as others have recommended. The first time I clicked "Play" in Steam, nothing happened. The second time, the launcher froze and was unresponsive. The third time, the launcher worked, but logging in through the browser did not work.
I then launched the game and had to fiddle with the resolution options to get it to display properly. I was also unable to open the Controls menu. I went into a training map and I was told to "Use [Not Bound] and [Not Bound]" to do something. Literally no buttons worked, I couldn't even use Esc to pause, so I just had to Alt+F4 and close the game.
So I opened the launcher for a 4th time, the game runs and I'm able to edit controls unlike last time, I open up a training map and I noticed that the performance was quite bad. I can get over 60 FPS on High on Windows but struggle to get 30 on Low in Proton. There are also severe spikes when loading into and moving around complex areas like the "City" stations which makes the game feel like it's running at 5 FPS sometimes.
Runs just as good as Windows, but I recommend the Wii version in Dolphin instead. The Wii version in Dolphin can support 4K resolution and all controllers. The Steam version is limited to 1080p and has limited controller support.
The launcher opens, tries to update itself, and fails. It shows an "Application has crashed" message and then hard freezes.
Seems to work very well. It's a DOSBox port, so in Proton, it goes DOS -> Win32 -> Linux.
This game does not launch, and each time Steam tries to install the .NET Framework.
There are some slowdowns and graphical glitches, I haven't tested if they also exist on Windows though. Game is otherwise playable.
Many things are broken for me. Lots of stuff is invisible. Characters often are missing hair and have invisible eyes. I've had to fight enemies for which I can only see the particle effects of the guns and engines and the main object is invisible. Sometimes animations glitch out. Performance has a few occasional dips but is overall good. I haven't tested any work-arounds.
Game loads to the menu, but crashes if you try to enter the game part of the game. Interestingly, this game runs fine in vanilla Wine, but fails to run in Proton.
I was able to play it for 20 minutes before it froze on me. Also, it doesn't seem to detect my Steam stats correctly (it called me "steamuser").
Runs with minor problems. Use these launch options for 1080p: -CustomResolution:Enabled -r1920x1080x32
The splash screen appears (which is farther than it used to get!) but it quickly crashes with a message that the .NET Framework is out-of-date.
It runs better than Windows, but does have minor issues. Graphics settings are locked by default since it doesn't detect modern GPUs correctly, and the maximum resolution is 1600x900. Luckily it displays correctly without changing the resolution due to Steam Play's fullscreen-to-borderless-window scaling.
Black screen with Steam Play, but runs decently on regular Wine. Here's the WineHQ AppDB page which I maintain: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=5643
All of the character models are completely broken, it only shows their equipment, eyes, and mouth. The terrain etc renders fine, and it's perfectly smooth 60 FPS. I did not apply any tweaks. The game looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/GzSlfhr.png
Refuses to start with the error "This game requires at least Windows Vista to run" regardless of the Wine version set.
Works perfectly in that it runs out of the box. Tested with the default "Direct3D" renderer.
However, because this game is so old, the controls are quite weird. I recommend changing the movement to WASD and unchecking Invert Mouse (for some reason, the X axis is inverted too).
I have tried many old and new Proton versions, all of them eventually result in crashing. This might be because this is a DOS game and Wine has been removing their DOS support. This game might run better if you try running it in the Linux version of DOSBox instead of via Proton.
