Switching to OpenGL in game settings dramatically increased my framerate. Atleast a 20FPS boost.

Works great
Dropdown menu for region selection goes behind the launcher on WMs.

When switching region in the Glyph Launcher, I had to hold down "Tab" after pressing the gear icon, because the menu was invisible.
If you are using normal Proton, accessing The Grand Orrery will crash the game, switching to GE will fix this.
Fails to load after launcher
Crashes after launching on the launcer
tabbing out while fullscreen breaks it
bad mapping, but this is an issue with the base game not the compatability. by default you can't play without a mouse, even though you can on console
Works
OOTB

After some of the updates it is running on Proton (7.0.4) without an issue.
Mouse don't get locked to game window in widowed mode, making it unplayable. In fullscreen mode it works fine.
Works really well, highly recommend it (proton next)
Works just as well as playing on Windows
Make sure, when you start the game, to change the rendering engine from DirectX to openGL in the trove settings, it will save a tiny bit of grief.
Works excellently, the game includes controller binds by default if you want to use those.
Altered left trackpad to be a virtual menu containing menu actions, removed mode shift since controls are shared mainly.
You can't open links in Glyph, but other than that you just press play.
The only issues I had were with my internet.
I've uploaded my binds as "Xbox-like binds". In terms of graphics settings, I found that increasing the render distance and decreasing the other settings to medium worked best for me in terms of visibility and visual quality.
Might need to use different Proton versions for updating the launcher/game and then launching the game itself. For me this time it was:
- Update: Proton Experimental
- Launch/Play: Proton 7.0-4
This game plays best with the controller UI enabled. This has to be done manually through desktop mode.
Controller UI is not enabled by default. You need to install the game and then go into Desktop Mode on the Deck. Go to /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/304050/C:/Users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Trove and open Trove.cfg. Look for ForceConsoleUI = and set it to ForceConsoleUI = true. Save the file. Then when you launch the game the controller UI will be enabled.
Once setup, the game runs wonderfully and is easy to play. You do need to enable controller UI in Desktop Mode to have the best experience. The game also has a launcher that can only be navigated by mouse. So setting up the right trackpad to mouse and setting the right trackpad button to left mouse is essential. At default settings, the game will last for 3 hours and 30 minutes on the Steam Deck, which is good for a game with 3D graphics and deep mechanics.

Minor stutter
Worked fine
Would recomend
on proton experimental the game has lag spikes randomly which wasn't happening when i was using lutris 6.21 nor proton ge 6.21
Game works good but could be better probably if would run on proton ge need to check that when trove will work under proton ge
The game works fine back then, but after last update, launcher cannot run the game.
Trove would not start with the default Proton but started without issue with the latest Proton Experimental.
Already played after previous update, some steps may be unnecessary if you've just installed the game after late june update (Sunrise).
Had to get Glyph launcher update using Proton-GE 6.21.
Then had to switch to Proton-Experimental to update and run the game.
You may also need to remove your mods to get the game to launch.

broken by the latest game's updates
After the latest update(s) it's impossible to get past the the update from Glyph. Tried different versions of Proton, including 6.21-GE-2 that worked before.
Launcher starts with Proton 6.21-GE-2 but the Game does not. Any other Version doesnt even start the Launcher

Unable to launch game
Game start and stop immediatly
Cannot update from Glyph
"There is no Windows program configured to open this type of file"
Unable to launch game
Not even making it to Glyph launcher, game starts and stops immediatly
Game doesnt work since yesrday
Since yesterday the game cannot launch at all giving error "There is no Windows program configured to open this type of file"
Game does not open on latest proton version
Works with specific version: Proton-6.21-GE-2
Game only runs with Proton-tkg 6.17 in my machine.
Need Proton-6.21-GE-2 to play and work perfectly

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Need to use proton 6.21-GE-2 and custom flags.
Glitched manchmal beim ändern der Einstellungen, kann einen Neustart erfordern
- Proton-6.21-GE-2 herunterladen
- Custom Proton-6.21-GE-2 Version zu Steam hinzufügen
The game runs perfectly with Proton-6.21-GE-2, you can also use gamemode if you want, i didn't try that.
How to install Proton-6.21-GE-2: Exit Steam completely Go to https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/6.21-GE-2 Download the Proton-6.21-GE-2.tar.gz file Extract it Go to /home/YOUR USERNAME/.local/share/Steam/ Create a folder wich is called literally compatibilitytools.d Copy the Proton-6.21-GE-2 folder into compatibilitytools.d Open Steam, change the proton version to Proton-6.21-GE-2 Then go to the game, force Steam to use Proton-6.21-GE-2 (you can find it in Properties>Compatibility) Open the game Wait a couple of seconds, then a window sould appear downloading things And then the game launcher starts.
Plays just as well as it does on windows, maybe even better since it crashes often to one of my friend and so far I haven't had any crashes
Sadly the game doesn't work without THIS SPECIFIC version of Proton-GE
The game does not start unless a specific version go Proton is used.
I can confirm as of the newest update the game works perfectly with the EXACT version of Proton I listed (Proton-6.21-GE-2), newer versions of GE (Such as the 7.2 versions) and the Steam included Proton versions will not allow the launcher to even start. Make sure to restart Steam after changing the Proton version selected, and to disable the launcher notifications in the advanced tab of the launcher settings (Though this does not seem to be needed anymore, the notifications worked correctly on KDE, other desktops may not work correctly with them). The video settings of the game were left at the defaults excluding increased draw distance and detail distance.
