Played start to finish with Proton, using a DualSense controller.
Frame limit set to 30fps/60Hz to improve battery life
Played through entire story including the knightfall ending + all DLC. Ran it at 30fps/60Hz mostly to increase battery life, so not sure whether it could maintain a stable 40fps or 60fps, but it did maintain a solid 30fps, looked great, and played really well.
Ran perfectly
Played through the single player story from start to finish plus the "Cold, Cold Heart" expansion at highest quality settings with no issues.
%command% --launcher-skip
--launcher-skip isn't necessary - the launcher appeared to work the few times I let it run.
Perfect
Both DirectX 11 and 12 modes selectable at launch work perfectly.
No issues
Completed a playthrough using a DualSense controller, everything worked fine.
After about 5 hours of play with both solo offline + online multipalyer, I'm not sure why this is marked as unsupported; the rating put me off buying it for a while. The Steam Deck config pre-selects Proton 6.3 to run it, and I didn't override that.
Requires manually opening the keyboard for the initial sign-in, and R5 is needed instead of right stick click to upload hero, but everything has been accessible with the default config. I added a friend to play with on the Xbox Live account website instead of in-game, but I assume that would work with the on-screen keyboard too.
No stability issues at all - I didn't have any crashes, network desyncs, etc.
Game defaults to 768p, but other than changing it to 800p I left everything else at the defaults - which look to be pretty low settings + 30fps, I'm sure it would still run well with some increased.
Flatpak Proton community build
Encountered some minor bugs while playing, but searching online they appear to be game bugs, not caused by Proton. Crashed once after a little over 2 hours of playing, could have been the game itself, but otherwise has been stable.
Performance suffered a little after changing resolution, but relaunching the game restored performance.
Played until Chapter 4 using Proton 7. Frequently crashes with a 'Fatal error' dialog when loading levels from Chapter 4 on. Switching to Proton 5.13 works around the crashes.
The trackpad + triggers controls work well, and I soon discovered the other gamepad controls (dpad, a/b/x/y etc) are also supported by default and make navigating the cursor around and selecting actions much faster. Really enjoyable on Deck, has made me want to play more adventure games on it.
Runs great
Did a complete playthrough of the campaign in about 8 hours over several sessions. Everything worked without issue, and performance was flawless. I opened the multiplayer menu but didn't join or start a game any as I had no real interest in playing the multiplayer mode.
