Works fine
Directional Occlusion was glitching for me, the shadows it created were just a bunch of horizontal lines. Turned it off in the settings.

weird double buffer vsync like problem on wayland, fixable by using an x11 window manager or desktop environment
this game runs using native vulkan, no dxvk or vkd3d shenanigans and at that runs very well.

Display-max FPS most of the time. Infrequent but noticable drops to ~60FPS, correlated with PulseAudio crackling.
%command% +com_skipBootSequence 1 +r_renderAPI 1 -nativevulkanloader
Only ocurred alongside framedrops, likely an issue with PulseAudio
Fairly present gaps between adjacent object surfaces (e.g. gaps in pipes or walls where triangles meet). May not be observable on 1080p or below. Fairly unobtrusive if you don't go looking for them.
Very rare crashes. Likely the game, not Proton.
If using an AMD GPU, force the use of the game's native Vulkan backend with these options: %command% +r_renderAPI 1 -nativevulkanloader
. Runs very poorly with DXVK by default.

170fps most of the time. Infrequent but noticable drops to 60, correlated with audio crackling. Likely due to data loading.
%command% +com_skipBootSequence 1 +r_renderAPI 1
Only ocurred alongside framedrops, likely the game/engine itself and not Proton.

At minimum, +r_renderAPI 1
is a must. Game runs very poorly with DXVK on AMD, forcing Vulkan is much smoother.

Works perfectly
Had a single crash but I assume it was the games fault, didn't happen again

Borked
I tried many different Proton versions, different Nvidia driver versions and every possible launch option that other people posted here but I never get past the menu. The game freezes during the opening cut sequence within a few seconds.
Motion blur needs to be enabled, there is a major preformance decrease if not.

Just 1 crash within ~15h
Goof game, good fps, no issues. Strong recommended.

Not much I can say it works perfectly with my PC with my launch options which I use for almost every game. It works without the launch options just as well though.

Freezes almost immediatley, and only ending the process fixes it.
+r_disableSteamOverlay 1 +r_enableAsyncCompute 0 +r_renderAPI 1 +com_skipBootSequence 1
I was able to make the first choice once but couldn't even get that far again. It freezes on either the opening cutscene or even in the settings menu if I tried to change anything.

I've tried different settings and versions. Tried default Steam Proton and GE versions 8-32 and 9-11. Also tried kernels 6.8 and 6.9.

I can start the menu, watch the video, but when is about to start gameplay it freezes, always when nurse appear.

Water not rendering
Water will not render until using the command listed for 'Launch Options'. Forces Vulkan on Steam Deck and makes it perfectly visible. Proton Experimental causes massive graphical issues with this command, use default Proton 9.0-2 and it works and looks perfect.

Games Motion Blur setting is tied to FPS
Running the native SD resolution of 1280x800 and then turning Motion Blur OFF causes locked 30FPS no matter what other settings. Leave Motion Blur ON, turn down to LOW in 'Advanced Settings' to minimize the effect and get a solid 60FPS on HIGH or above.

RADV_DEBUG="nodcc,nodisplaydcc" %command% +com_skipBootSequence 1 -nativevulkanloader
Audio sometimes cut out for about a second, especially in the beginning and end of the game.
- Water is sometimes not rendered (especially in Manhattan and some sewers).
- Black lines appeared on some surfaces.
- When looking at light sources, sometimes the whole screen flashed white for a few seconds.
Lasergewehr caused the game to crash, the launch options fixed this.
Too high FPS (>120) sometimes make robot soldiers invincible, which happened to me once, but this seems to be a general problem with the game and not exclusive to proton. This is fixed by using the FPS limiter in the advanced graphics settings.
Issues may have been caused by graphics settings (I used "Mein leben!" preset), lower settings may work better.
Great sequel to New Order, no need for tinkering. Working straight out of the box.

+com_skipBootSequence 1 -nativevulkanloader
GOG Version: Cannot be installed via Heroic. Had to download it manually from gog.com, perform the installation and then provide the files to the launcher. But now works perfectly

I was unable to beat the game because of an invisible wall at the very end. Some doorways would stop me from passing until I jumped through them, I think this is what happened at the end where you have to crawl through a spot so I was unable to jump and progress.
Mostly works but a little buggy.

Works amazingly
The game refused to launch with the latest Proton and latest Proton-GE. The only one that finally worked was 7.0-6

Great graphics, great gameplay, very enjoyable on Linux, but more troublesome to run on my PC than the previous Wolfenstein (The New Order).
Very random "Could Not Write Crash Dump" error, the same as with the Windows version. Most of the time, restarting the game is enough to get rid of it. One time, this wasn't enough, the error kept coming, so I made a new save right after the game started, left it and loaded the new save, and the problem was gone.
If you try to tinker with the advanced graphic settings, the game will work perfectly, then will be choppy for no logical reasons the next time you start it. So don't even bother loosing your time with that and if your GPU is recent, just select the highest preset and enjoy your game. And also, there is sometimes a video memory error prompt randomly appearing, just ignore it by clicking on "Accept", it doesn't matter at all. At last, there was a few times some kind of screen corruption that blackened progressively everything, restarting the game solved it
Great game on Linux, I completed it again, and the Freedom Chronicles too! Everything works well, but with a few caveats that I will sum up here:
- don't bother with the advanced graphics settings, just use the presets.
- ignore the video memory error prompt if it pops up.
- in case of the crash dump error, just restart the game. If it keeps coming, make a new save and start from it.
- in case the screen start to be entirely blackened, just restart the game (it happened just 3 times in my whole gameplay).
- Alt-Tab works OK most of the time, but it also crashed the game a few times.

Played through the whole game on SD, worked great, avoid dynamic resolution IMHO - doesn't work well in this title.
Lowered ingame resolution with FSR upscaling - less blury & better FPS.
Works great, try 1152x720 borderless with FSR upscaling for a cleaner image as the games TAA is clean but blury. Avoid the highest settings on SD, diminshing returns.

Des baisses occasionnels de trames/s
Se plante toujours au même endroit pendant une scene non passable
Il y a peut-être des solutions, mais j'en ai pas trouvé qui marchent pour moi.
Runs really extremely well - defnitively would recommend!

Great shooter with a retro feel
plays fine start to end with no tinkering

Nazi killing action with a few caveats
There appears to be black lines going across many surfaces in the game from start to finish. Unsure of what the cause of that is. In certain areas you will also encounter brief flashes of black squares when looking at certain lights, which is especially commong during the beginning of the Roswell mission.
Sometimes the game's graphics can be engulfed in a black "mass" or "fog" when loading into a game, however it's uncommon, often fixed from simply reloading that same save.
Playing the game on Wayland introduces some very noticeable stutter and frame drops in a number of areas. However playing on Xorg is a very smooth experience.
While this is certainly playable on Linux, there are some hard to ignore graphical issues that you will need to keep in mind and sometimes contend with to enjoy the game. If you're playing on Wayland, just keep those performance issues in mind, because they can get quite nasty in certain areas of the game. It is still a very playable experience despite the issues.

Proton 8.0-4 works on this game. GE doesn't work.

Runs great apart from some minor visual glitches
On the submarine, the screen would sometimes become bright white and then fade to normal after looking into certain light fixtures.
I tried to play this game back in 2018 on Windows didn't finish it due to the amount of crashes. On this playthough where no crashes at all. Had one issue when arriving at the farm. The screen turned black when this level started, but reloading the save fixed it.
Apart from that, the game ran at a stable 120fps (capped) framerate.

Install and enjoy

Had to dumb down the gfx quite a bit.
It plays fine, which is more than I can say for Win 7, which refused to even play this game. =D

Lighting glare causes black screen flicker
50 hz/50 fps for 2,5 hours, around 2 hours on default 60 hz/fps, turned off motion blur, every graphical setting on high, filters on anisotropic 4x, anti aliasing on TSSAA 8TX, stable fps with minimal drops in bigger fights
Tried the black screen flickering fix posted here but it didn't work for me, it's possible that i set the launch options incorrectly, others are welcome to try and post their experience
