In settings when changing controls they are not displayed correctly.
Would sometimes crash when downloading the map
I noticed that when starting a free game or a scenario, the map would be downloaded and it would get stuck and then either crash or just load infinitely. To bypass this you have to start the game you want and when it crashes/freezes just load it again and again until it loads completely. so basically just brute force it.
When having a lot of districs, the game would very. VERY rarely stutter for a second.
After the latest update default proton stopped working and i had to use Proton Experimental, otherwise it would crash in the lobby.
Changed from Wayland to Xorg, Wayland would crash after about half an hour of playing and it would freeze the entire system.
Native port sucks, on both Gnome and I3wm the game window would not be displayed correctly and would constantly flicker. However the proton version works perfectly, i am using logitech G27 and even force feedback works!
Nothing Worked
After pressing play there would be a black screen and it would crash in a minute, tried editing registry, running from lutris, yet nothing worked.
Apart from the issues below, i actually get more FPS on linux than i did on windows.
Very minor problems, ocassionaly wouldn't detect slight mouse movements.
Crashes every 3-4 hours or so, nothing that would make the game unplayable
I had to use proton, not the native version
Native version crashes every half an hour or so, proton worked perfectly.
Speech recognition doesn't work.
Right after loading into a level the game would stutter a lot, after about 3 minutes it stopped though.
Great performance, stable 60 FPS on ultra with no fps drops, a minimal performance loss.
About 5 FPS all the time.
The dev said he'll release a linux build... 4 years ago. So yeah that probably won't change. Wouldn't bother with this game if you play on linux. Try NetHack instead.
Nothing happens after clicking play
Nothing, probably because of anticheat.
Also played the game on windows, linux has better performance than windows. worked perfectly out of the box.
Black screen after pressing play.
I did later try to run it in lutris and it works perfectly there, 60 fps ultra with very rare crashes and no performance problems.
After clicking play the launcher would have all the options greyed out.
i tried the suggested fix of going to the regedit and adding the Installation Path, i tried variety of combinations in that key: Z:\home\pc1.steam\debian-installation\steamapps\common\Oblivion Z:\home\pc1.steam\debian-installation\steamapps\common\Oblivion. \home\pc1.steam\debian-installation\steamapps\common\Oblivion Z:/home/pc1/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Oblivion
None of those combinations worked, every time i entered the launcher the options would not be greyed out but once pressed it would say that oblivion was not found.
I also tried running it directly through Oblivion.exe but it did not work either, just blurted out "application error 5" and nothing would happen.
As a last resort i tried to backup OblivionLauncher.exe and rename Oblivion.exe to OblivionLauncher.exe, this would result in "Failed to initialize the renderer" error.
The Native version would have frequent graphical artifacts, and the performance would not be great (20-30 fps max).
Proton version has way better performance than native, and there are no artifacts.
