Works perfectly, even with all DLC and a ton of mods.

Worked right out of the box, don't use Proton. Stay Native. Runs great.
Mods work perfectly fine, multiplayer mods work fine as well.
Native runs fine, use native only. Proton version causes mod issues and conflicts.

It works immediately after installation
The game works great natively, you don't need to use Proton or configure anything additionally

proton > native
native linux version exhibits a bug where dragging your mouse slows down the game to a crawl, fixable with a workshop mod.
performance is about the same on dxvk than native opengl, proton version doesn't exhibit the mouse bug.
Native. Works perfectly.

Play native don't even try Proton
Tried to use mods with Proton, had really weird non-deterministic issues where mods would randomly conflict but also sometimes to work, switching to native seems to just work.

runs perfectly out of the box!

gamescope --nested-width 2560 --nested-height 1440 --nested-refresh 170 --steam --fullscreen --force-grab-cursor -- %command%
Played on Wayland with scaling, which is why I'm using gamescope.
Läuft einfach! Auch Modsupport und Multiplayer.
Holding down mouse to drag-select multiple things causes slight game lag, however there is a mod on the workshop to fix this issue and the lag while noticeable isn't that bad and is just a minor inconvenience.

running about 330 mods and i get various bugs, from a missing menu to no UI to the steamdeck restarting 3/4ths of the time. DO NOT MOD ON THE STEAM DECK OR IT WILL RESTART THE WHOLE SYSTEM EVERYTIME YOU TRY TO PLAY

Works perfectly
Game installs, works perfect with the native build. Even have mods subscribed from the workshop and they just "work". Perfectly compatible game.

The keyboard, being on a non-English layout when launching the game, did not work in the game (excluding the Escape key), which can be fixed by switching to the English layout before starting the game
The game runs faster than on Windows, considering the build includes over 70 mods, and no significant issues have been noticed

Works out of the box. Minor performance issues on large colonies with Ubuntu 24.04.
Sometimes a grey bar appears at the top of the screen when loading the game initially. This can be handled by setting up a shortcut in Gnome to disable and re-enable fullscreen mode. A quick toggle out and back in fixes it. It seems to be a Gnome issue rather than a RimWorld issue.
In large colonies, the game may experience periodic bursts of slowness. This issue has only occurred for me since upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04 and did not happen when I was using Ubuntu 23.10.
I love that game!

Works Perfectly
Works perfectly with ~200 mods installed. Performance seems to better than it was on windows.
Runs flawlessly on native with over 700 mods!
Was fixed by a workshop mod
The version above 1.2 (1.3, 1.4 and 1.5) all suffer from mouse lag, aside from that the notifications are buggy, they are supposed to display info when you hover above them, but it's inconsistent, and most of the time doesn't show what it's supposed to show.

Control a stranded person(s) who need to build up society and try to get out of there... you can make it very sinister.
LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1
Occasional Blank screen with only mouse cursor.
Low FPS

Game runs fine and there is only problem which is mouse causing massive lag, which can be easily fixed by one workshop mod.
gamemoderun %command%
Native version has problem with mouse because of unity bug. It can be fixed with this mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2986170057 Mouse Drag Fix (Linux)
Hotkeys doesn't work if you start game with non-English language keyboard input
Runs better than on Windows
Runs smoothly and seems to load faster than in windows, ever with 150+ mods.

Mods not working. Mod lists that work on my windows PC perfectly fine run into large amounts of errors and issues on steamdeck.
Stuff like Vanilla Factions Expanded Mechanoids fail to load for me and cause the game to crash, but some other Vanilla Factions mods work just fine, modlists I create on PC that work perfectly cause major problems on steamdeck making it unplayable.

I have a ultra widescreen(5120x1440), to get it to run correctly I needed to edit the resolution in ~/.config/unity3d/Ludeon Studios/RimWorld by Ludeon Studios/prefs and ~/.config/unity3d/Ludeon Studios/RimWorld by Ludeon Studios/Config/Prefs.xml
Ultrawide screen issues as noted

Mods greatly improve gameplay, but even supported mods are inconsistent as of the latest update.
Randomly switches between fullscreen and windowed when pressing some menu buttons.
Fullscreen being disabled randomly, some menu buttons not working, game not launching native when installing mods.
As of 1.5 it seems the devs have decided that Linux support isn't all too important. Constant issues arrise, even when using Proton. Tested it on a few different systems and all of them showed similar results. At the very least, it has no problems when using no mods. Though when installing mods, it often refused to launch. Switching to compatibility mode seems to fix launching, but then you run into an array of other issues. When using Proton the stability degrades to a point where doing anything might have adverse effects, and uninstalling the mods doesn't fix the native launch issues.

Runs pretty great. I had to install lib32-gamemode in addition to gamemode for gamemoderun to actually work.
gamemoderun %command% -popupwindow
I desperately need multithreaded RimWorld. Other optimizations can be done by modders for now, but as a top down 2D game that gets 20FPS with many pawns on the map/late game with a decent size mod list it's so painful. At least 1.5 is a step in the right direction.

Runs perfectly and all save files work
Awesome

-popupwindow
There are issues with UI elements. For instance, dragging a scrollbar only scrolls if the mouse is being moved quickly. Mouse hover effects only appear if the mouse moves on them quickly.
In the native version, I get performance issues running the game at higher speeds.
The performance and mouse issues are fixed if run with Proton, but since the Anomaly update there have been significant issues with mods not working.

native runs amazing with zero issues
even mods work perfect :^)
Flawless OOTB

gamescope -w 2560 -h 1440 --steam --fullscreen -- %command%
Played on wayland with scaling, which is why I'm using gamescope.
