Fps drops are so frequent, the experience on Windows is miles better. I uninstalled this game on Linux.

Own cfg files aren't working as expected (changing the frame rate from within cfg files, for instance, doesn't do anything).
Frequent lags, gets better over time due to shaders compiling, but even after playing for hours, fps are still significantly lower compared to Windows.
Servers are garbage, but that's not due to an operating system.
Cursor is low res
It's playable, but low fps. Windows version runs much smoother
Graphical glitches here and there, might not be Linux specific though.
Laughable fps unfortunately. Windows version runs much smoother on the same hardware.
Native version works just fine
Significantly less fps compared to the Windows version
Changing video settings during a match leads to crashes.
Just use the native version. Windows version with Proton is borked and will show an error when trying to search for a match.
Slightly less FPS than expected, but really not that major.
gamemoderun %command%
Stable 60 fps
Crashes if previously played on Windows - fix given below - Works perfectly after tinkering
If you have previously played this game on Windows and have cloud saves enabled, this game will not work out of the box!
Here is how to fix it: (If on Steam Deck, go into desktop mode)
Open this path in a file manager (e.g. Dolphin) "~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/751780/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/" and backup the Forager folder to a different location. Then delete the original one.
Steam -> right click on Forager -> Properties -> uncheck "Keep games saves in the Steam Cloud for Forager"
Launch Forager and close it after it finishes launching.
Open the path from step 1 again and go into the Forager folder. Now copy over the contents inside the backup folder back into the original location. If you see a pop up asking what to do with already existing files select skip.
Repeat step 3
Re-enable cloud saves as shown in step 2 (just re-check the box). If Steam askes you about a file conflict, select to keep the local save.

Won't start
The game processes vulkan shaders successfully and then crashes immediately. I have tried pretty much every version of proton, but nothing seems to work.
When I install the game on an NTFS drive, it launches fine, but performance is terrible.
The demo works flawlessly under Proton as of now
Thoroughly a great experience. Runs absolutely perfectly.
Pressing ESC makes the game glitch for a short second
FPS drops occur when approaching a lot of enemies (does not happen on Windows)
Connectivity is not perfect, but I don't think that's due to Proton/Linux
Works perfectly without any tinkering/configuration
Steam overlay doesn't work
In the first match after launch the game stutteres for a few seconds, but after that continues to run flawlessly without any lag.
Runs well enough to be considered a good experience - plant selection screen is very laggy though
1 FPS during plant selection screen - Runs at 48 FPS the rest of the time
Switched to beta branch "public-beta - Public Beta"
Black bars on both sides of the screen
Switch to beta branch "public-beta - Public Beta" to get it to work
Significantly lower FPS compared to Windows
Multiplayer works perfectly
