On ONE occurrence the game caused a severe memory leak that ate up all my system's memory in a matter of minutes. Could not reproduce this ever since but I thought it'd be noteworthy nevertheless.
Besides the one weird memleak I had while running the game it runs and performs excellently.

Global illumination doesn't work. Either launch the game with " radv_absolute_depth_bias=0 radv_no_dynamic_bounds=0 %command%" or see https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3429777/page/1

Native build needs libassimp5 which is not shipped with the game. I installed my distro's version and was able to run the game
Latest update lead to an infinite loading screen.

crashes often occur when interacting with any object / menu / inventory
If it weren't for the frequent crashes the game runs pretty good in general.

Added the following to $GAMEDIR/Bin64/SpaceEngineers.exe.config in order to enable garbage collection:
<configuration> <runtime> <gcServer enabled="true"/> <gcConcurrent enabled="false"/> </runtime> </configuration>
Audio popping/crackling occurs. Some sound effects do not play (eg. the sound effect when accessing any menu/console)
Fullscreen leads to frequent crashes on my system, Borderless seems to be more stable
This game needs a bit more tinkering than your average title but if you figured out a way to keep it from crashing it runs even better than on a Windows maching performance wise. As with many crash- and stability-related issues the causes are always very dependend on your individual setup and the solution/mitigation needs to be figured out in each case. This might be a frustrating endeavour for your average non-technical gamer so keep this in mind. There is never a "silver bullet" solution to each problem unfortunately.

Works pretty much out of the box. Loading times are a bit high even when loading from an SSD but all in all a solid experience.
