It just works!
Had some screen tearing - if you experience that, just enable vsync!
Works great on Deck - best with keyboard and mouse
This game plays great on the Deck! However, the default controller layout leaves a bit to be desired and will require some tweaking to gain access to all controls. Additionally, there are no controller glyphs, so whatever layout you set, will need to be memorized. It is best enjoyed with a keyboard and mouse.
Also, if you want more than a 30 FPS average, you may want to lower some graphics settings such as shadows or clouds. I was able to get 50-60 FPS after some very minor tweaks. It is entirely playable without such tweaks though.
Overall a very good game play experience once we switched back to proton 8 to play in multiplayer.
As it seems others may have realized, with Proton 9 the multiplayer does not appear to work right now, the game seems to work fine otherwise in single player. Switching to proton 8 allowed me and my friend to play in multiplayer and everything works fine. So we'll force proton 8 for now.
Even with proton 8, there was still very rare disconnection issue, but it was easy for my friend to reconnect, which may be the game overall still being in early access and the network protocol may not be super robust.
Crashes immediately upon loading into my friends world.

Could only get singleplayer to work, which works perfectly.

Tried launching without any custom launch options first, but kept getting the paradox launcher installation over and over again. Got it working by using the custom launch option from user "punkgeek".

Launcher wouldn't start until I switched to proton experimental, after I did the game has had zero issues. Worst I've had is ocassional minor FPS drops while streaming on discord, but that isn't a big deal and might not be linux specific

Game crashed when a Steam friend joined, switching to Proton 8.0-5 fixed this.
Didn't launch of default/expiramental. Switched to Proton-8.x. Worked fine after that.

The stock controller layout provided with the game is meh. But once tweaking it plays great.
The new ea release plays great on steamdeck. Even on a TV at higher than default resolution (I used 1080p in the display properties) it is a 30 fps game (which is fine).
See my command line (above) for an optional way to skip the launcher app and instead go straight into the game.
Game runs completly fine

Apparently I had a corrupted download, worked fine after re-downloading
Tried my previous install on my windows partition and got the same error. Re-downloaded and was able to successfully launch and play with default Proton 7-4 as well as base system wine.
Foundry did not run via Proton in any configration I tried (7-4, GE 7-31, Experimental)
Running it produced no useful error messages, or a cryptic 'Unable to initialize IL2CPP' and closed
Downloaded from itch.io and added to Steam via "Add Non-Steam Game...". Works perfecty out of the box
