Most of the problems you'll be facing are probably from Ark itself, not proton, so you'll face the same bugfest on Windows as well.

Can't click on Join Ark otherwise it'll crash, use Steam's server menu instead.
Have to join through steam's server menu, can join friend's non-dedicated servers.
Use Windows version, the Native Linux version is criminally bugged and out of date.
Way too much stuttering, if you get past that, the experience is fine; but the stutters always come back.

Sometimes crashes during big ui changes(i.e. finalizing your score after a test), crashes if you alt+tab too quickly after launching it.
Stutters everytime there's a big ui change(i.e. clicking on settings while game is paused)

Works perfectly out of the box. Flawless experience.
Steam version didn't work as the launcher said "Your account has been blocked by administration due to abnormal activity/illicit program"

Works out of the box without any problems
Downloaded the installer from the official website, made a new wineprefix in lutris and ran the installer inside it. Then, change the executable to NeopleLauncher.exe, everything works perfectly after that. Remember to use the wine version I used. I haven't tried any others.
Videos won't load with Proton Experimental, use Glorious Eggroll instead. Connecting to servers takes much shorter time compared to Windows.
Use borderless window
Addons work in the same way as Windows. Windowing experience is great for two-monitor setups.

Would experience a bigger fps drop if participating in larger groups
TACO will not work, can try using Burrito which can work on Linux but it doesn't support directly using TACO markers.
Using 5.0-10 due to an earlier report of it having less audio issues than 6.3. Haven't faced any issues.

Have to use shader cache, use DX11 instead of DX12. These steps helped me stabilize my FPS.

Use borderless
Initially I installed it, the game could run perfectly, but Origin client won't connect to friends list so I couldn't play with my friends. I spent a whole day trying to fix it but to no avail, after a fresh installation, everything is fine.

Used to not work because of anti-cheat, now works with the new proton version (7.0). Game progress can be carried over from mobile. Flawless experience.
