Plays great co-op, didn't try more than 2 players, but I've got no reason to believe that wouldn't work.
Didn't try online, but co-op and solo is rock solid.
The native Steam Linux Runtime plays great on Deck. Haven't tried any multiplayer yet, but single player is a blast
Couch co-op is great
Nothing special to report here with this one, but that's a good thing lol. Runs and plays great on Deck including multiplayer.
Runs great on Deck, although the antialiasing makes the game quite blurry at 800p. You can disable it by pressing ~ and typing r_antialiasing 0 in the console.
Not super surprising that it doesn't work on deck since it is listed as unsupported, but kinda weird that it won't even install. Steam just stops at Installing: Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (step 2 of 3).
The deck's built in controls didn't work the first time I booted it up, but we're detected every launch after the first. Plays great otherwise as it should being a native game.
Garbled text in the settings, all menu text is a bit too small
Scene changes tank performance
The frame rate drops are pretty disappointing, but the only last for a second or two, otherwise totally playable on deck.
Runs Perfect out of the Box
Ran perfectly out of the box. Highly recommend this game, a fantastic sequel in a fantastic series.
Controller only works if you don't touch anything while the game launches
Game looks and plays great on the steam deck, but the controls only work if you don't touch anything while the games logos show. Super weird, and definitely not what I'd consider "verified", but it is totally playable on deck.
Some levels can get kinda choppy, don't know if that's a deck specific issue or if it's just the game.
Couldn't find any matches. Could be that nobody was playing when I was trying.
Great game to have on your Deck! I even 100 percented the achievements for this game on Deck.
Default controller bindings did not work.
The seed menu runs at like 10 fps for no real reason.
Valve rated it as playable with the only fault being entering text required manually pulling up the onscreen keyboard, but the game has more faults than that. The default controller bindings don't work at all, and the games performance tanks when selecting plants for each level. If you can get past that, then the game is a joy to play with the touch screen or a community config.
Some of the map graphics don't show properly.
Had to map the controls in the in-game settings.
Minor graphical issues and controller set up aside, it's a decent experience on Deck, just not perfect.
Some text is a smidge to small for my liking.
I played well with the Balanced preset, although the frame rate did drop in boss fights.
Runs as well as this horrible px port usually does lol. Played portions of all the campaigns on deck and had a good time, though I do recommend using the Dreamcast conversion mod for the best experience. It does require some extra tweaking, but I was able to follow other guides here to get it working.
It's a little choppy in the menus, but once you get into the game it runs fine. DLC works, not the pre-order bonus and the deluxe edition content.
Used a patched .exe file
The game plays fine with the patched executable people have linked below.
Minor frame drops during fights
The frame drops ruin it if you're a competitive player, but is otherwise fine for casual fighting game fans like myself. Had to use GE-Proton to get cutscenes to play.
Minor frame drops in fights
The frame rate issues make it unplayable for competitive play, but is otherwise fine if you're a casual fighting game fan like myself. Had to use GE-Proton for cutscenes to play, but even then had some audio issues with cutscenes.
