If you're fine with no or minimal controller support, runs great!
Game failed to recognize my controller at all, even with Steam Input enabled.
No tinkering needed. Download it, boot it up & off you go! Runs like an absolute treat.
Works perfectly
Perfect
Because this is an old game, wether you play the native Linux version or the Windows version using Proton, the game might not detect your gamepad, only the keyboard. If that happens, open the game's properties go to Controls and enable Steam Input for this title. This will force the game to detect your gamepad. Then map the buttons on in-game settings. The game is fully playable with my Dualshock 4. Other than that this game runs flawlessly on Linux (tested both native and proton versions).
Both native and windows versions are perfect on Linux.
its a pretty cool sonic inspired game, story is kinda cringe but the game is fun, you just need to fix the controls
you need to download a community controller config otherwise the controls wont work
i made the config
the default controller configuration didnt work, you need to download a community layout
i used the native linux version, so i dont know if this happens with the windows version too, but the default controller config does not work in this game, it all works if you download a community config, i made one that works and i even added dpad movement since by default the game does not support it for some reason
Controls didn't work with default configuration, so instead I downloaded SilverCHX's "Deck Keybindings" community layout, and all works fine.
Additionally, visuals were blurry when I started, with scaling being set to 2x by default, but after changing scaling to the "Full" preset in the in-game options, everything looked nice and sharp.
Visuals were blurry due to improper scaling being applied by default. This was remedied by changing scaling to "Full" in the in-game options.
Game booted up but controls did not work
Played through the game as Lilac and encountered no issues with default settings.
Need to run in 60 FPS
Works just like on Windows.
Plays perfectly aside from a minor control issue.
The game never recognized the Deck's gamepad controls for me, so I just created a simple keyboard layout instead which worked 100% of the time:
- Arrow keys
- Z (Jump/Menu Select)
- X (Attack/Menu Cancel)
- C (Special)
- Enter (Menu)
Gave me a bit of trouble getting controls to work
The deck's built in controls didn't work the first time I booted it up, but we're detected every launch after the first. Plays great otherwise as it should being a native game.
Work's great on proton since D9VK got merged with DXVK.
better performance than on native.
