I tried a bunch of different Proton versions, even Experimental and GE, it just never starts.
Works perfectly. However, I had to switch to Proton Experimental to get achievements to work.
Luckily I have a second monitor, you can escape focus but not ALT-TAB properly, it stays on top no matter what.
Native has problems, Proton borked
Native has missing characters in the character creation screen, but Proton completely broken and runs at 6 fps no matter which launch options or Proton versions I use, and will not log in.
Conflux won't connect, I can't play singleplayer or multiplayer, I can't even load savegames.
Distorted menu fonts.
You will be kicked from VAC servers, which is all current ones online. You'll need to get some friends together with hamachi or something.
Game is a bit slow to load assets, make sure to install on an SSD if you have one or you'll be waiting for graphics to load in every now and then.

Use winecfg in protontricks and enable Emulate Desktop to enable alt-tabbing.
Minor thing, when I click out of the window, or back in, sometimes the music stops. It comes back later.
Stutters when you move as it loads in the map, annoying but not unplayable.
Frequent crashes on startup, I usually have to launch the game 2 or 3 times before I can actually get in. Then I can play for a few hours until a random crash boots me out, about 2-5 hours.
I can't imagine paying for membership for performance this bad. If you're choosing between this and Old School Runescape, Runelite for OSRS runs flawlessly and is native for Linux.
Cannot join any server in the new build. EAC ruins yet another game.

Runs horribly. Still tinkering with graphics options but even the Medium preset stutters constantly.
GE Proton versions don't even launch, and Native is even worse for stuttering.

It doesn't seem to work with older Proton versions, make you're using 7.0.1 or Experimental.

Use Gamescope to force fullscreen + upscale - I don't think Touhou games generally support it.
